BoloOfEarth
Like Clarion, Tony Hall remembers voices but they were ones he recognized: his brother Mike and sister-in-law Nicole, both blaming Tony for their son's drowning. As he lay comatose, Tony had nightmares of that fateful winter day on the lake, teaching his nephew how to ice skate. Hearing the echoing crack as the ice split. Seeing young JJ going underwater. Trying desperately to save his nephew and getting pulled into the water himself. The shocking cold of the water, robbing him of all warmth. And then the darkness, which never lasted long enough before the nightmare began anew. But eventually the continuous nightmares stopped, or at least paused. He awoke to find himself lying on a hospital bed, chilled to the bone despite numerous blankets piled atop him. The only background noise was the rhythmic beeping of various pieces of medical equipment. He tried to call out for help, but he could barely make a noise with vocal cords long-unused and half-frozen. He lay confused a few minutes until a nurse arrived. She seemed shocked that he was awake, and when she touched him, he grabbed her arm. Tony felt warmth moving into his hand, then up his arm. The nurse opened her mouth to scream, but it was quickly cut off as a rime of ice coated her completely. Tony maintained his grip on her arm until the warmth suffused his entire body. As he released the nurse's arm, he could see her lifeless eyes staring out through a thick coating of ice. As Tony took this in, another woman entered the room, followed by a young man. "You are awake," the woman said to Tony. "Good. Bartos, unhook our new friend." Tony couldn't place her accent, but her voice made his heart leap for joy at her calling him her new friend. He tried to croak out a 'thank you' but she waved it away as inconsequential. The woman glanced at the flash-frozen nurse, murmured something in a foreign tongue, and then turned back to Tony. "I am Clarion. This is Bartos. You will come with us now. You have been in coma for six years. Will be weak. We help you stand." As Bartos and Clarion each took an arm, Tony got to his feet unsteadily. "Your skin is like ice," Clarion said. Tony nodded and said, "Ice," but his dry throat hurt from the effort. "Water," he said, hoping for a drink to wash away the ache in his throat. "Ice Water, is good name," said Clarion as the trio left the room. "Come, friend, we have others awakening." death tribble
Six of the last 10 odd teams have had 8 or more members. Five of those were those with 8 members. The other one was the Cursed Tomb team which had a minimum of 5 but progressed to 20 as no one seemed to want to end it. Can we please drop to groups of 4 to 7 at most for the next few teams ? Bartos mentioned above is not defined by anyone as yet. Gorou Matsumoto was in the proverbial wrong place at the wrong time. Some punks out for trouble decided that he was the one and chased him towards a colleague who ran him down and then ran over him just to make sure. He was taken into hospital and remained there. While in a coma he was visited by the spirits who began to train him spiritually while also modifying his body and healing him. He was trained in the arts of the samurai and when he awoke he found the equipment of a samurai. And that is what Clarion found when she came calling, a samurai warrior sitting on the bed clad in the armour of his county's past and armed with swords, bow and polearm. 'I have been expecting you. Shall we go ?' was all he said before they left.

The other one was the Cursed Tomb team which had a minimum of 5 but progressed to 20 as no one seemed to want to end it. Can we please drop to groups of 4 to 7 at most for the next few teams ? I second that motion. One problem with people posting endless members is when the team description is left open ended (e.g. "six or more members"), or when someone sets an excessively large maximum (such as 20 for the Cursed Tomb). The Cursed Tomb took nearly all of December to reach that maximum, so it could be that people were hesitant to jump in with a new team until that maximum was reached. I know I was ready for a new team after a dozen members or so.
BoloOfEarth
One of the Awakened never did actually awaken (at least not as himself). Stan Beckman was a promising physicist who was nearly electrocuted when a lab experiment went a little ca-ca. He was in a coma for six months before he was declared brain dead. What the doctors didn't know is that Stan's brain wasn't dead -- it was simply elsewhere. His consciousness had entered the various electrical equipment monitoring his body, and through them entered the hospital's electrical system. From there it was a simple step to traverse the city's power grid and beyond. Unfortunately, he spent too long wandering the power grid. By the time Stan returned, his body had already been disconnected from life support, declared dead, taken away, and cremated. All Stan knew was, there was no body for him to return to. No matter, he thought. He traversed the electrical lines to another hospital and entered one of their comatose patients. Boy, was that guy's family surprised when he sat up, disconnected himself, and walked out of the hospital room! Unfortunately, Stan couldn't maintain control of the man, and after a few weeks collapsed back into a coma. Once hooked back up to the EKG, respirator, and heart monitors, Stan went back out into the electrical grid to find another coma patient to possess. He's since discovered that he doesn't have to wait until he's hooked up to hospital equipment. He can simply place a finger on an electrical outlet and "leap" into the electrical grid (causing his former host body to collapse back into a coma). He's also learned how to empower each new host body with extra electricity, allowing him to act as a human taser, among other electrical effects. He tried referring to himself as Flatline, but the rest of the Awakened, as well as the public at large, know him as the Leaper. So now Stan finds himself leaping from life to life, striving to put wrong what once went right, and hoping each time that his next leap will be the leap home. csyphrett
Casey K Aldrich took a bullet to the head, fell out of a five story window, and then was hit by a bus. He should be dead. Instead he went to the hospital and slept until he was ready to wake up. He had thought he was bound for good things, but that never happened. Instead he was hounded by bad luck wherever he went. When he came back, Casey still had problems, but he found he got better every time something bad happened to people around him. It was like he was giving them his bad luck. Casey became the Sign to aid his new colleagues. CES Amorkca

Lucius
That is 8. Badger you are up. Unless Lucius wants to step in ? Since I've been invited... The Highway Robbers Lots of villain teams base themselves in big cities. But that's there the hero teams are! These villains are smart enough to go where the hero teams AREN'T - the wide open spaces of the rural United States and Canada. Valuable things have to move BETWEEN cities, and that's when they're vulnerable, on the highways or on the rails where a criminal only has to worry about thinly spread state or provincial police....(until the player characters show up) We need only four or five members. One should be a Mastermind, with abilities that let them know when and where to intercept valuable cargoes. (I can think of a LOT of ways that would work.) One should be a Transporter, able to move teammates plus the loot once they acquire it. The rest can be any villain who could be useful in this sort of crime. Lucius Alexander None of the members should be a palindromedary
death tribble
Since I've been invited... You were owed. the Freeway Bandit The scourge of the highways is the Freeway Bandit. He is one of the most notorious speedsters around and can outrun police cars. The advantage he has over cars is that he can go around roadblocks although he has been shot and hit by Staties. He is one of a number of villains who is busted out of prison very quickly as he is very useful to all and sundry. The current gig of robbing stuff on the highways is one that appeals to him greatly. If the police turn up he can distract them and let the others get away. He is also capable of keeping pace with a truck and hijacking the lorry by suddenly opening the door and jumping in with the driver. steriaca

BoloOfEarth
Never Mind is the team mentalist of the Highway Robbers. His ability to read deep into peoples' minds, often without them ever realizing they were telepathically probed, has proved invaluable in getting the details of transport routes, security pass-phrases, lock codes, and other information necessary to successfully pull off a heist. A related talent for wiping witness memories helps confound officials' pursuit of the Robbers after heists. His only real offensive psionic ability is to trap a foe in a past memory. Because this doesn't always work, he often carries a concealed but deceptively powerful mini-blaster as a backup when on a job. steriaca

freakboy6117
Profesor Caótica Alberto Galeno was born in poverty in one of the worst slums in Mexico city a brilliant child unable to attend the schools his intellect required he educated him self at the cities libraries by the time he was in his teens he decided he needed to raise the funds that would let him study in America but the only opportunity for a poor Barrio kid with no official education was as a luchadore taking on the persona of Profesor Caótica Alberto used his knowledge of anatomy kinesiology and physics to become a ferocious fighter dressed in a white coat with a black mask embroidered with white symbols and numbers to look like a chalk board covered in mathematical and chemical formulae. Alberto made the money he needed and was able to attend MIT graduating with triple majors in theoretical physics engineering and chemistry. he went to work for a major corporation developing a weather control system to aid drought stricken regions only for the company to turn out to be a viper front who would use his device as a weapon. when he discovered this they stole his work and they sent a team to kill him obviously they weren't expecting a highly skilled luchadore he defeated the kill team but realised viper would never stop hunting him so he faked his own death and fled back to Mexico eventually he would join Los rudeos to help fund his research Alberto is a brilliant man and his greatest hope is that his research will help lift the people of Mexico's poorest regions out of poverty but as he is legally dead and hunted by viper his only means of funding his work is crime. Alberto is the conscious of the team working to reduce collateral damage and protect civilians he is in it for the money not the action . he is a skilled fighter but also usually carries a few gadgets tailored to the job and probable foes. He is also an expert strategist planning most of the teams heists but he is a lousy tactician unable to cope with the fast pace of combat he leaves that up to one of his teammates. steriaca
death tribble
El Matador Tomas Bosco was one of the lucky ones. He became a luchador and fought under the name of El Toro. However the organised crime rings wanted him to take a dive and he would not. So they framed him for drug abuse (they learned their lesson from another luchador they had tried to suborn. He refused. They killed his family and tried to cripple him. He became a hero and went after them taking down a lot of their operations and personnel.). Tomas was forced to retire. But he seethed with indignation. He went to other sources in the Underworld and got training and superpowers. Then he returned as El Matador. He took out several underworld people and stole their money. He also killed a couple which put him on the wrong side of the law. However he chose to give money to the poor and not to victimise the weak. El Matador is a mid level brick with Mexican wrestling skills. He is a big fan of the WWE and supports the Big Show, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Shield, C M Punk, Jack Swagger and Dolph Ziggler. He has let slip that the reason he does not support the luchadors like Sin Cara, Kallisto and Rey Mysterio or Alberto Del Rio is guilt by association. El Matador has several notable tattoos which El Toro did not. These are removable. It has also meant that several crime figures have tried to get El Toro to take out El Matador much to his amusement. Even his colleagues do not know the truth. Tomas defers to the Profesor for planning as he and [insert name here] had come together to work as a team when Alberto found them and got them a bigger, better focus. steriaca
Lixivious
Rápida Tiffany Tortellini’s father arrived in Mexico from Italy in 1949 with his new bride to pursue his dream in the ring. During the war he had been an unwilling test subject for a VIPER contingent masquerading as Nazis. So many tests and treatments were done to him that he can’t really say which particular one manifested his sonic speed powers; but when they did, he immediately escaped. His abused body had difficulties handling great speeds and in his first bought in the ring his heart burst. He collapsed at his opponent’s feet in the third round. As Tiffany grew up and grew into her super speed powers she used them in the ring to honor her father. However, she discovered how corrupt it all was and turned to committing small crimes in the guise of Rápida. Tiffany convinced herself it was all to support her emotionally devastated mother but really it was for the thrill. Soon she caught the eye of Profesor Caótica and was persuaded to join.
