You would think a villain who always leave riddling clues would be easy to catch.

 

But the Riddling Skull always leaves riddles with several possible answers, some of which will be clues leading to booby traps.

 

No one is sure yet if the current Riddling Skull is the same who bedeviled the Allies in WWII, but he has the same habit of leaving a recording that says "Riddle me, riddle me, riddle me this: what's the last sound you hear before -" right before the bomb goes off.

Bronze scorpion

 

Ben Gargan was born a slave in Texas in 1820 his father was a black Smith his mother a house slave Ben was a genius despite his lack of education he was able to figure out farm machinery mathematics his work in the house allowed him to sneak access to the library and he thought him self to read several languages.

 

he suffered greatly at the hands of the slave overseers too smart for his own good constantly answering back and showing up his alleged betters whipped and beaten locked in a hot box he knew he has to escape he used his superb mind to plan his escape and when he was 15 the civil war broke out and he used the confusion of the plantations preparations for war to escape.

 

Knowing he wanted to free the other slaves especially his parents after his escape to the north he found that even there he could not get the respect due for his intellect.

 

Angry and unable to get access to Higher education he turned to a life of crime wearing a custom of brown leather and brass armour containing a verity of useful inventions he based his design on the Scorpions he had encountered

 

Including a bronze pneumatic stinger launcher.

 

During the civil war he confounded the CSA stealing gold shipments freeing slaves.

 

Unfortunately for Gargan the conclusion of the war didn't do much for his future still a wanted criminal for his crimes in the north and his research still besmirched by white academia he decided to wait it out developing a cryogenic preservation system a century ahead of its time he froze him self and was automatically defrosted in the 21st century his stashed gold has made him very wealthy but he still sees a lot of social injustice and uses his bronze scorpion persona to target racist companies local governments and police forces he loves the future but still has a lot of the attitudes of a man of his day.

Charles Gentry was an emotionally unstable scientist who had to take various mood altering drugs to remain stable. For the most part it worked and he managed to construct a battlesuit based on a porcupine to show the army, Unfortunatly the men he showed it to laughed and kept insulting the design. At which point Charles snapped, and coated the quills in the drugs he used to stabilize his mood, and fired the quills into several soldiers as he stormed out. Some broke down crying, others became amorous, and some went into a homicidal rage. Now the unstable Charles Gentry creates chaos wherever he goes as the Psychopine

DEAD SKULL

 

Floyd Schmit German-American playboy adventurer big game hunter and champion marksman he came to Germany in 1936 to compete in the Olympics in both pistol and rifle events unfortunately he was forced to withdraw due to a car accident that would cost him his right eye.

 

During his recovery he found himself drawn to the national ideology and joined the Thule society.

 

The Thule society had a goal to ensure the 1000 year reich by bestowing immortality on the fuhrer and his high command.

 

They discovered an ancient assyrian tablet that would bind the spirit to the body and strengthen it beyond the abilities of mortal man. Floyd volunteered to be the guinea-pig for the ritual robed Thule society sorcerers wove around him as he lay on the altar chanting in a lost assyrian language and then the dagger fell piercing his heart.

 

he should have rose from the altar filled with strength and immortal. But it was not ment to be his body burst into flames burning with supernatural speed his body turned into a body shaped pile of ash.

 

And that should have been the end of it but the Thule society had missed one thing a flickering red ember drifted from the ashes.

 

Flowing away until it alighted on a fresh corpse in the village mortuary. The glowing mote fell into the right eye of the dead man and to the horror of the mortician the body sat up and screamed and it's face exploded the skin flayed away leaving red scares of blood and flesh clinging to an empty eyed skull with just a bright swirling orb of sinister red light glowing in its right socket. It was the spirit of Floyd Schmit.

 

The ritual worked but was not suitable for the fuhrer the body still decayed but while it last was superhuman strong and fast feeling no pain and shrugging off all but the worst damage.

 

When the body is destroyed the glowing orb migrates to the next available corpse each time the possession blasts the skin from the vessels skull leaving it a tattered mass of blood and muscle.

 

He has operated since WWII but spent several decades trapped in a soul jar by a Jewish mystic. Before returning.

 

Floyd is still master marksman and has accumulated decades of combat experience and his enhanced abilities make him a formidable combatant.

 

he was never much of a sorcerer but is knowledgeable and is seeking a cure for his curse.

Magneto Mind is a powerful psychic butterfly equipped with a voice box to communicate with and the ability to control vast portions of metal with his mind. He is a deadly menace and actively hunts other magnetism controllers.

The Sore Loser is the main assassin for the Black Company . Being able to induce pain via touch is handy to get around. While that ability itself is not lethal, it does tend work down to target's endurance, and mask the exact point he puts a hi tech blade into there sides. To make matters worse, he has himself gone through nerve disconnection surgery, allowing him to ignore pain.

Tinker Tailor is the scientist of the group he has various odd gadgets on him at all times, like a 'gun' which is in reality, a coffee maker, a coffee maker which shoots lasers, a giant robot made from discarded television sets, and a nuclear bomb made out of a microwave oven.

Buzz Astralis is Hangtime. He is responsible for air dropping the Company on their enemy targets. He has precise control over air currents allowing him to carry a small protective shell that can be discarded as a bomb to lead a hard assault.

Buck Brooks is the Bunny. He is the heavy weapons member of the team, increasing the output of any weapon he is using. Don't be fooled by the pink bunny suit he wears. He and his Sonya are the most dangerous weapons on the field.

The Guv

 

The head of the team is known simply as The Guv, short for Governor is the captain. Unflappable despite the odds against him or the team, he remains a point of calm in the storm. He is particularly hated amongst rural America because he is British and will often stage raids on the 4th of July or on other prominent American holidays. He stops arguments in the team by walking up to the individuals and just glaring them into submission. He tends to use normal weapons letting the others do the speciality work. He is the one who sorts out contracts and expects his employers to keep to the spirit or letter of the work. There have been several who have suffered at the hands of the group for reneging on a contract.

All members of the group are named after World War II German equipment like the Focke Wolfe, Messerschmitt, 109, 110, 190, 262, Schmeisser, Komet, Panzer or Panzerkampfwagen, MG 42, Kettenkrad  etc.

None of the team are Nazis or racists

109 is a German energy blaster, able to generate electricity and shoot it out of his body. He was from another dimension where the Nazis won WW2, and was pressed into service of Adolf Hitler the 7th. Adolf finally went even more crazy, and destroyed there Earth. Now in our dimension, he helped create the Wermacht to prevent another fachish dictatorship to emerge.

 

In spite of his world, he was never truly attached to the Nazi idea. In fact, he is fascinated with the Jews (having never met one, cause they were all killed during the war).

Panzerfaust  is the team's martial artist.  Despite his normal frame, he packs quite the blows into his kicks/punches.

 

Though, he has some weird thing about always wearing a German army greatcoat into battle.

[Old Man]

Das Boot is a gadgeteer whose heavy diving suit has been heavily modified. It's been ruggedized, of course, and it boasts some strength augmentation to help with the weight. It mounts an array of powerful optics and microphones. But most notable is the electrogalvanic generators that generate a field which allows him to turn invisible and even phase through solid objects.

 

His primary weapon is a low-velocity rocket launcher whose rockets are equipped with their own invisibility fields. But he has also been known to use a harpoon, or even a large monkey wrench, if circumstances dictate.

[BoloOfEarth]

Sturmvogel ("Storm Bird") is a flying pseudo-speedster brick whose high-velocity punches are accompanied with a thunderous boom.  He is a native German who is very proud of  the technological developments of German engineers (his grandfather was on the Me-262's design team), but takes great offense at outsiders painting all Germans as Nazis.  He's not terribly happy with the team being named Wermacht, as this invites Nazi references, but as a later addition he didn't have any say-so on the team name.

 

(Sturmvogel is the name of the Me-262, first operational jet fighter)

The man known as V-6 is really a woman named Gerda Klempt. Gifted with a legacy of flying armors, she has done what she can legally to enhance them for modern use. Then she went to the illegal side to get more money. Everything she earns goes back into her armor to improve performance.

Los Conquistadors wish to return Spain to a monarchy and reclaim all of its former territories. These five villains directly oppose the Euroguard team in operation.

Isabel is the team witch.  Supposedly an ancestor was an illegitimate child of the old Hapsburg line (before the genetic pool got really weird, at least according to her.)

 

She may or may not be the one that is to be the team's intended successor.  (though she will likely at least have a planned role of advisor)

Cortez

 

He is the team's weaponsmaster and knows a number of combat manoeuvres so can take on martial artists. He wears a Spanish soldier helmet and breastplate which would be more at home in the Elizabethan age. He can fence and use modern and ancient weapons which means he can be a real threat in a museum. He is polite to woman opponents but has a distaste for British Protestants, Spanish communists and Americans whom he blames for the loss of Cuba and the Phillipines and the Monroe doctrine.
