Clint Norris is as badass as they come.  He's a martial artist extraordinaire, pretty darn good with a gun, and can track a man through any environment from wind-swept desert to bustling city.  People say he used to be a Texas Ranger until he was caught walking out of the evidence room with a fistful of dollars.  Tales of his abilities are legendary (he's particularly amused by the one about his tears curing cancer).  With his iconic poncho and black cowboy hat with silver trim, he is known as the Man With No Codename.

(Obviously, he represents the West.)

Dew South

She comes across as a typical Southern Belle but she is a skilled martial artist who performs as a damsel in distress in order to make her life simple. She is skilled at cartography and can crack complex cyphers by hand or on computers. She can understand Portugese and Spanish which makes her work in South America vital to the organisation.

At the edge of the world in the east is where Apollo bridles his horses to run the day. Before that, Eos must lead the way as his herald, riding the sky. But what happens when one of the servant nymphs takes a spark from the sun and walks in the land of men?

You have Penelope, Daughter of the Dawn. Her sacred fire is enough to burn most things, light rooms, dispel the night, even heal if she wants which she rarely does.

Penelope aspires to be a goddess, no matter how minor. And no mortal will get in her way.

The Transcenders developed great powers that allow them to control the forces of the world. The problem is when pushed too far, they may be drawn into the aether that allows them to operate on Earth. Naturally they fight this because they want to shape the world into what they want it to be.

Who are these five people and what do they leave behind when they are forced to ascend to a higher plane?

Crack

The one member of the Transcenders who Law Enforcement will go the extra mile to incarcerate is Crack. His power is over the earth and he can create earthquakes or manipulate the tectonic plates in order to create earthquakes. It is therefore no surprise that he tries to get to places like the San Andreas fault in order to unleash his power to its fullest extent. He currently resides in a 'hot sleep' cell as it is thought to be too dangerous for him to be awake. other criminals have tried to utilise him by coming into an area after a quake and looting the remains  The authorities are aware of The Armageddon Plan whereby Crack would trigger earthquakes in or around major cities like London or Paris devastating them completely before moving to The Ring of Fire in the Pacific. The projection for the devastation there is astronomical as it could involve major volcanic activity which could potentially wipe out life on earth at worst. This is where Crack intends to ascend and what he wishes to do above all.

Gravitas is a rather somber, serious-minded gravity controller.  Growing up in a third-world slum, he has seen such greed and depredation that he's just about sick of humanity, but he's decided to give people one more chance to see the light and follow the Transcenders' lead.  If he pushes his powers too far, he thinks he might actually, as he puts it, "become one with the eternal dance of the planets around the sun."  However, there is a fair chance that him doing so will create a microscopic black hole that could spell doom to the world.

Turbulence

This man can use the power of the wind  to cause all sots of effects but he prefers to live around the East Coast of America along the Atlantic coast or Tornado alley in order to enhance his powers. As a result he is often pursued by heroes and vigilantes intent on stopping him from causing more damage than he already is capable of. He is looking to enhance an F5 Tornado or a category 5 hurricane and turn it into a type 6 which will destroy life on an unprecedented scale or wreck the atmosphere once and for all.

The man known as Big Splash could always control water to a little degree. And he always figured he was a mutant But then one day while testing that theory with a mutant detector nothing happened. Oh the water moved.  The detector didn't  So he pushed harder and harder. The detector didn't move. But he finally touched the aether. gallons of water suddenly filled the room. Over time he could create massive tidal waves on dry land. What he could do next to the ocean was truly terrifying. His only problem now I does he simply move water around the Earth, or draw it from somewhere else. If the later he can simply keep making it and drown the world. If the first, he needs to find someway to destroy the icecaps.  Fotrunatly he knows some really destructive people. When drawn into the aether he leaves behind a massive hunk of black ice.

The Scottish Terrors

(O.k. I feel a bit bad doing this with Crack a few people up. But the instrument and loch I'm pretty sure are coming so.)

Angus Mccullen spent his youth hearing stories about how his family was created from a lord's tumble in the sheets with a pretty maid not his wife. So the poverty they lived in was sadly a bit of chance. He didn't accept that. He poured through historical records hoping to find some proof he could take to court. As he was looking he ran across an account of someone in the village who supposedly had gained mystic powers from a strangely carved stone given them by the little people. Not getting anywhere in his quest he took a detour and found where the man was supposed to be buried. Digging up the grave he found lying on the coffin a stone just like the one described. As he was fiddling with it, he felt himself moving. It took him a moment to realize the ground for hundreds of feet around him was riseing into the air. After the shock wore off he realized he could move it and make it form shapes. He could also cause it to break off and hit targets. As his section of ground becomes too small, he just carves a new stone and a new section rises. He decided to stop worrying about being a lord, and become  King. But before he could take over the Untied Kingdom, he needed to take over Scotland. So the man now called Highland recruited five more, and has waged a campaign against the Scottish government ever since.

I'm sorry but I had to......

Clad in a tartan suit including a tartan fedora and carrying a tartan Thompson sub-machine gun comes The Loch Ness Mobster. Originally from Inverness Antonio McDonald is Scots-Italian. He serves as Angus's muscle and gunman and is perhaps the most'normal' member of the group. He has a deep love for gangster film noir but try imagining saying the tough phrases in a broad Scots accent.

The Bog Monster

An enchanted bog (or part of a bog) that is now semi-intelligent.  THink of him as the groups' (rather large) pet.  Can shapeshift and whatever body manipulation you can expect out of a living bog.  And can take the form of a humanoid creature to provide super muscle.

Note: I guess like Clayface in some respect except bigger and dumber.

Edit: Yeah, think Clayface meets Swamp Thing

By magical instruments I am assuming you do not mean musical instruments.

Jade Tiger master searched the Asian hinterlands for his weapon finding it in the end in the Naga hills of Burma. He ambushed the shaman of the Naga tribe and took his sacred treasure, The Claw ! He returned to Fist mountain and trained with The Claw ! specialising in fist strikes and nerve strikes. It is claimed that The Claw ! has a mind of its own and must be returned to its home before the 60th birthday of its current owner. But Jade Tiger is evil and does not believe in The Curse of The Claw !

Master Bu Chang found a magical mask. Once he put it on, he couldn't take it off. But it does give him a gift. Whenever he steps into the sun, he becomes like iron. Known as the Tiger of the Sun, he uses his great strength and durability to destroy anyone who gets in his way.

Naturally the mask does not work at night, or during an eclipse.

The Tiger of the Moon or more commonly Moon Tiger sought an instrument to bring death upon many at once and he was not successful in finding such an item. Or when he did in corrupting the item to do such heinous work. For what Moon Tiger found was The Staff of Life while pursuing the intrepid explorer Walter Snetterton as he tried to cross the Andes by frog. Satisfied that he had a weapon that could inflict great evil he returned to Fist Mountain. To his frustration he could not alter The Staff of Life into the staff of death. However he proved able to perform a number of feats with the staff and can render people unconscious.

The Tiger of the Forest sought out weapons of power and shields of invulnerability and those who use them. He then observed them so as to work out the benefits and deficiencies of these items. He concluded that all of these instruments were flawed. He actually stumbled on the instrument he now uses by accident and it has made him quite the opponent. He discovered a ring that allowed him to blend into the background. As a result he increased his prestige as a master of camouflage. His training and infinite patience (as opposed to what his 'brothers' are known for) allow him to gain what might be termed as unfair advantages over opponents. Forest Tiger is now looking for suitable foes for all his team mates.

New Team: Lives of the Great Commanders

You know how some people believe themselves to be famous military commanders like Napoleon or Julius Caeser and end up in the lunatic asylum ? Well these people believe themselves to be descendants or reincarnations of famous military leaders and can operate in society without appearing like a mad person. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to detail a member of the group with the following provisos:-

There are a minimum of 5 to a maximum of 10

They can be men or women and they can be male descendants of say Joan of Arc or female descendants of Julius Caeser.

They can have almost any powers but they all have a charisma, presence and tactical acumen which outs them ahead of the mass of humanity.

They all work well together and rotate leadership as missions dictate.

No more than a third of the total can come from one country's history. So at most 2 if there are 5-7 members pr 3 if there are 8-10 members can come from say Roman history or Greek or American Civil War. Also if you have someone based off U.S. Grant, George Washington and George Patton that equally fills a quota for an 8-10 member team.

They have to be a military leader so George Washington is valid, Lincoln is not.
