Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Reginald Priestly is Snatch 'N Grab. By day a mild mannered librarian he becomes a giant inhumanly strong thing when the magic words 'Izzy, Wizzy Let's Get Busy !' are said. He is then dispatched to grab a person or a computer which he does with some gusto. Think the Hulk but without the mind. The others carefully control him when in his alter ego as Reginald always remembers if someone tries to pull a fast one on him. And has turned back into Snatch to pulverise them for it.

For obvous reasons Reginald avoids kids programmes, nostalgia and any mention of the Sooty and Sweep show.

VR Snuffy is a sentient program that stalks cyberspace to cause mayhem. It's highly resistant to both viruses/malware & anti-virus/anti-malware programs and any attempts to control it cybernetically. As of right now, he can't be destroyed, but he can be placed into a three month dormancy if he's outmatched.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Richard Ipstein always loved computers, especially the big number-crunchers. Normally meek, Ipstein feels more capable and powerful when he works on a supercomputer or a high-speed cluster. He also seems able to dope out the most obscure computer programming problems, so he's a very in-demand consultant with many large corporations.

Ipstein was handling a particularly difficult computer issue at Sterk Enterprises when Ogre smashed into the computer facility, closely pursued by Sterk security. Fearing for his life, Ipstein lashed out -- and was amazed to see electicity shoot from his hands. As the power drained away, he felt weaker and meeker. Luckily, in the confusion nobody knew where the electrical attack came from that flattened Ogre and three security guards, and Ipstein was able to slip away unseen.

At first, Ipstein was unable to duplicate the effect... until a few weeks later when he was fiddling with an older Cray he was rebuilding for fun. This time, he accidentally fried his phone after a telemarketer called at an inopportune moment. With experimentation, he discovered that he drew power not from the electricity flowing into the computer, but from the computations running on the computer. The "harder" the computer is working (in other words, the more calculations the computer performs), the more power he draws. It fades quickly -- within a minute -- but if fully charged up, Ipstein can do damage comparable to the toughest energy blasters. Powered up, he can also protect himself with an invisible force field and project electromagnetic force to propel himself through the air, though doing so does drain his energy reserves faster.

Thankfully, his powers don't adversely affect computers (other than noticeably slowing down computation speed), so he can still ply his trade. The more he has used his powers, however, the more they affect his own mind. Over the past several months, Ipstein has become self-centered, aggressive, and a bit obnoxious. It was this shift in personality that led him to join the Byters as Number Cruncher, the team's energy projector.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

I got an idea. The X-Men and the Mutants called them the Externals. Other cultures and comic books have called them other names.

These are not heroes but paranormals who walk amongst us but do not show their powers off like regular supervillains or superheroes. But cross them and you may very well end up dead.

There are rumours they exist and meet up every now and again but rumours is all.

They have been amongst us for a long time.

List at least five of this group who are either dead or still alive. Called simply The Group

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

'I'm the urban spaceman baby, I've got speed

I've got everything I need'

There have been rumours for years of a paranormal with extraordinary healing abilities. But no-one has ever come forward or verified these claims. Most psychic surgery is balderdash as Dana Muldrake of the FBI, who investigated several such cases, would say. But try telling that to the Black Ops squad who had him and then all fell asleep except their commander who suffered a cerebal haemmorage. The film records of this were destroyed on the site.

'I'm the urban spaceman

I'm intelligent and clean

Know what I mean?'

The past few years there have been some surprising deaths in California and some surprising recoveries from all but fatal diseases and injuries. How do you explain the sudden death from a heart attack with no previously diagnosed disease evident or history in the family ? How about the spontaneous onset of cancers that killed a man in 12 hours ?

What about the kids who have suddenly recovered from lukemia ? Or victims of drive-bys whose bodies have shown rapid cellular regeneration ?

No official records exist. No credit cards. No mobile phones. No birth certificate or social security numbers.

'I don't need pleasure

I don't feel pain

If you were to knock me down

I'd just get up again'

There is talk of a guy who can't be hurt and these stories usually say ity happened in LA. This guy tried to hit another guy but suddenly suffered fatigue and dropped unconscious. Another tale on the same lines says that a guy went to strangle him but he suddenly suffered paralysis. The stories used to say that his name was John Doe. Nowadays they say it's the Urban Spaceman.

'I'm the urban spaceman babe, but here comes the twist

I don't exist'

He lives beneath the radar of the authorities and nowadays answers to the name of the Urban Spaceman. He's their medic but also a invisible assassin. He can cure but he can also kill. Once upon a time it was by touch. Nowadays he can do it at range. He has outlived a good few of his contempories and had to kill a couple as well. He has a special dislike of Mind Controllers. The rest of the Group aren't that keen on people with that power either as sooner or later you are found out and they could be discovered. So The Urban Spaceman has killed a few with sudden heart attacks and cerebal haemmorages and in one case spontaneous human combustion.

Currently he resides in Los Angeles where he is taking an interest in the gang violence and trying to quell it. In some cases that means killing the people behind it.

Following the dictates of Karma, if he kills someone or harms someone he can then help someone. There are some doctors and nurses who are aware of him and that he can assist the body of a patient to heal naturally or so they believe but he makes sure the hospital and the staff get the credit. True they don't know about the time he blew up the implants of someone having plastic surgery with fatal results but that was just a freak accident, right ?

He can sense people around him and knows on a cellular level what is wrong with someone. He can cause blindess, deafness or extreme haemophilia if attacked by a group. Or he can just cause fatigue leading to sleep or nausea.

He's not interested in plaudits, recognition, inspiring others or vast wealth. Just life as it happens where he is.

He usually has a vast number of quarters so he can use pay phones. When you can change your fingerprints this means no-one ever puts you at different locations, and it makes you harder to track. He is dressed in normal clothes usually leather jacket, shirt or T Shirt, jeans and sneakers.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

He wanders the streets dressed in rags, his long white hair and beard unwashed and unkempt. The other bums, at least the ones who know him best, call him Stopwatch but refuse to say exactly why. But if you watched him from a distance for a prolonged time, you might see why. Might notice brief moments when something strange happens, like a woman about to get hit by a car somehow ends up on the sidewalk instead. Or a bum getting mugged suddenly disappears from the alleyway, finding himself a steet or two down with no idea how he got there.

If you watched long enough, you might also notice that Stopwatch seems to be getting older awfully fast. And you might be surprised to learn that Stopwatch is only 24 years old. Not the 60-70 like you might guess from all the white hair, wrinkles, arthritis, and what not.

If you confronted him with what you know, he'd probably just shrug and say, "Time marches on. If not around me, then in me. I just wish I'd realized this about six months ago."

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

He was once a king. If the stories are to be believed, the first human king of the first human city. He's not sure about that anymore, it was a long time ago, and his memory is not what it was. But he remembers his friend, the wild one, his best beloved, and his horrible death. He remembers seeking out immortality, and failing time and again. But his ending is not the one in the stories. Eventually he gained immortality against the will of the gods, by his own strong hand and clever brain.

But since he had done this against the will of the gods, they cursed him. He lost his kingdom, his people, his ability to stay more than one night under any roof. And more, the gods prophesied that he would outlive even them. As he was the first human king of the first human city, he would be the last human king of the last human city. Until that time, he must wander without a home.

He calls himself Ur, now, after the vanished city. Ur seeks to keep on moving, not attract undue attention, and wait for his final destiny. It usually doesn't happen like that. Ur is rather short by modern human standards, but well-formed and muscular, and handsome under the filth and weariness. He's only peak human strength, but has millenia of experience as a wrestler, and is immortal. When Ur chooses to use it, he can project the King's Aura, a bearing of authority and majesty that makes all humans in the area aware that he is the true once and future king.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Gideon Mathews was known to the group as The Librarian. Most facts committed to books he could access. However the same was not true of data on computers. He also had an astonishing ability. If someone gave him the birth certificate or something that a person had written (not typed) he could locate them. Gideon tended to keep away from most people who assumed by his effeminate voice and his camp ways that he was gay. He seemed to have enough money to lounge around his apartment wearing his trademark big fluffy dressing gowns and comedy slippers.

Gideon was killed by a black ops team in the 80s who had been sent to retrieve him. The story was during the assault on the apartment Gideon had come out of one room and been cut down by automatic rifle fire by a surprised team member. The police got to the building before the team could take the body. the coroner believed him to be about 50 years old but could find no other records of him.

As for the black ops team, The Group realised that someone was after them and made sure that they and their sponsors did not live long enough to regret their mistake. The person who they ultimately reported to suffered a great deal of tragedy as one by one his family and friends were picked off in car and other accidents and the sudden onset of disease. The Urban Spaceman was really quite upset by what happened.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Over the ages, he's been known by many names. A few would be familiar; most are not. Today he goes by Crowd Control.

Though born human, he thinks of himself as a sort of demigod. He sees himself as the spirit of the masses, an avatar of popular opinion, the embodiment of democracy, a living focus of the gestalt... he's expressed it in many different ways, but he is the focal point for the mass behavior of any large gathering.

In truth, his moods are reflected in those around him. If he's feeling angry, frustrated, serene, or amorous, so do those nearby. If he likes or hates a certain individual, then so does everybody in his vicinity.

Even the rest of The Group is not entirely immune from his influence. While he's not the titular leader nor any kind of tactician, what he wants is generally what The Group ends up doing.

Sometimes he can use his powers deliberately, such as to influence an election or to get a roomful of wealthy people to "willingly" hand over their valuables, but generally he gives of a general mood-altering field.

While he's a master of disguise and can have nearly any appearance, when he wants to appear as Crowd Control is wears a gray three-piece suit with a hooded cloak and full-face mask.

The next team: The Predators. They are radical American nationalists, of any race, who have organized themselves like a street gang and do many of the same activities as any organized crime group, but on a much larger scale. There are seven of them, and all have been injected with the DNA of a predatory animal.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Sam likes to think of himself as the leader of the Predators, something the other members put up with most of the time. After all, it's an American gang, and what could be more American than the national bird, the Bald Eagle? Truth be told, though, Sam isn't the brightest thug, or the best strategic planner. And most of his "victories" in the gang's fights have been "kill-stealing" other members' opponents. He sure can speechify, though, and he looks great soaring on a favorable wind.

Hector Valvez aka Pike isn't pretty. His DNA injection of his namesake has left his skin looking vaguely scaled, and his mouth is full of rather nasty teeth. There are the gills, of course. He's the waterfront specialist for the group, and if given a choice, will try to take a foe who CAN'T breathe water down with him. Not only does this give him an edge, but he also enjoys the panic it often induces. He gets along okay with most of his team mates, but every once in awhile, wants some alone time. For unknown reasons, he's expressed a real dislike of Europeans.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Lee Bradley was injecte with the DNA of a Timber Rattler. He has extreme flexibility (think like Martel from Fullmetal Alchemist) plus he has a venom bite (rarely used). He prefers conventional weaponry however, so the venom bite isnt used much. The flexibility comes in handy when ducking for cover. His limbs have slowly become scaly though he usually keeps them covered

Has the distinguishable feature of a large "Dont Tread On Me" flag tatooed on his back. (though he keeps it covered).

"I'm not a scavenger or a coward, you ignorant [bLEEP]! I'm the priestess of the dead. I'm the ultimate opportunist," A high, mocking chuckle escaped the woman. "Call me...HYENA!"

JeriAnne March was never a pretty woman even before she got injected with the DNA of the striped hyena. But she's embraced her namesake, reveling in the matriarchy of the species. A cagey hunter, JeriAnne throws herself into stalking her quarry, blessed with stealth, night vision and a set of savage jaws capable of crunching bone. She's got remarkable stamina and is highly resistance to diseases. If a rival gang member has to be made an example of, JeriAnne's usually the one to carry the deed out (to add further humiliation in death, she's been known to "mark" her kills afterward). She loves taking trophies of her kills too -- some more macabre than others.

And she's waiting for just the right opportunity to take Sam out permanently and take control of the Predators.

Thanks to the DNA of the nearly-extinct red wolf, Michael Chamberlain has acquired the quickness and cunning natural to one of the top predators in the southeastern US. He also has enlarged canine teeth and the highly-advanced senses (primarily smell, but also hearing and taste) common to wolves.

As Lupus, he frequently argues with Bald Eagle about who should rightly lead this "pack" of miscreants.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Puma- Tabby's the newest member of the group, and her cougar DNA has given her exotic eyes that see in the dark, claws, and a natural agility that is most impressive. She loves showing off, and can't seem to help playing with her foes/prey when the chance arises. She doesn't talk much about her past but other than that seems to be a pretty good team player despite the cat dna. She's also a damn good shot.

Puma doesn't talk about her past because she doesn't remember it. She was an undercover federal agent, but the agency had injected her with a drug that would help reduce the effects of alcohol so she could drink with the gang while keeping her wits. She didn't realize injecting the DNA would be part of it but was too far in to back out. Unfortunately, the serum remained long after the buzz wore off, and it reacted badly with the DNA injection causing her memories to become scrambled, fuzzy, or just plain lost. Now, Detective Tabitha Jones is just "Tabby" and she's fallen into the role of Puma for real. Only a powerful mentalist or a skilled bio chemist would likely have a chance to restore her memory. And what are the chances of that happening?

Have we done a Teenager villain group yet? If so, I apologize, I didn't see it and here goes

New team:

Renegades

The Renegades are five teenagers, ages fourteen to seventeen. They were taken, experimented on and altered by what appeared to be a secret government project but was in reality a rogue ex-government scientist instead. In order to make sure he got children no one would care about, each teen must have little to no family that cares about them. They might have been taken from an orphanage, off the street, or from an uncaring even abusive family. Thanks in part to their new powers, and in part to dumb luck (the scientist, unknown to them, had a heart attack, though he has since recovered) they managed to escape and now are VERY distrustful of authority figures. Their crimes are currently simple theft (mostly for survival, but sometimes because they want things) but the group is already in danger of breaking up as one or two maybe regretting their life of crime, where others are coming to enjoy using their powers more and more violently. Your call if you want to describe how they might be lead onto the straight and narrow by a superhero.

Dyl House is the Spot. He has the power to become a hole on any surface. His power is used for quick escapes and busting defenses. If not for hanging out with the Renegades, he would love to hang out with other kids his age talking about Ninetendo and Magic playing cards.

Lindsey Cummings was called Brute even before he was experimented on, because he was always large and always a bully. Now he's even larger, and he likes using his immense superhuman strength to terrorize people. He doesn't care what the group does, as long as he gets to beat people up. (And when The Spot isn't around, he likes to make his own holes in walls for purposes of escape.)

Paul Carter was a disturbed kid even before CPS got him out of his aunt's place and to the orphanage. Always staring at girls and women and hovering over them creepily. The powers he got may now make matters worse. Taking on the name Mandragora, Paul can put a target to sleep temporarily -- and he's now experimenting with just how long and deep he can keep a victim under and just what he could do with such opportunities. There's no way a hero could turn him to the straight and narrow. He swears he'd never harm or do anything bad to the other members of the Renegades...

...for now.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Freddie Womak knows pain. He lost his parents when he was six to 9/11 he was used as a political/publicity tool by his aunt and uncle as they tried to extort money and air time from whomever they could. He began cutting himself when he was fourteen. When his 15 minutes were up his family had little use for him and he ran away.

The experiment has messed him up further. He gained the power to open wounds on others with a thought. Only he (or anyone with mental awareness or other exotic senses) can see the blades of telekinetic force he projects. A bizzare side effect of his powers includes his ability to regenerate. This has taken his ability to cut himself ...he doesn't even feel the pain anymore...so he has become more and more ruthless...Cutter could be turned, but it's not going to be easy. The other Renegades are rightfully scared of him as he's made it quite clear he won't accept bullying from any of them

Emily Gregory was given up for adoption at birth. Drug addiction will do that. She was easy pickings for the scientist. Her sonic powers, beyond the damaging screams and similar powers, include a subsonic subliminal control. She uses this aspect of her powers to keep her "family" together and out of too much trouble. She's very frightened of Mandragora and Brute. She feels protective of Spot and has a crush on Cutter. She fears she may someday lose control of them.

her powers give her a very sultry, lovely voice. She sings constantly these days. She has taken the name Diva

Ok I rapidfired the last two there. I hope no one complains. But Hermit gave me an idea for a super villain team long ago and I want more to work with.

The Crossroads are a blues band made up of men and women (Sextet) who sold their souls to nether powers to get famous.

Now these powers may or may not be demons they might just be powerful magical entities. They were a bluesrock band before, and performed some terrible sacrifices to get the attentions of their patrons. So, obviously, six members. And it's a band so let me know what instrument they play. need a drummer, guitarists, horns, etc...

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

I did this a while back, but thought I'd add it to the discussion.

America Force

Members

Lone Eagle

Swashbuckler

Union Maid

Grey Ghost

During the Second World War, before Pearl Harbor, not every superhero group wanted the U.S. to enter the war. America Force was created by ex-Ambassador Daniel Cassidy and Aviation Pioneer Douglas Mansfield. The goal of the group was to keep America out of the war, and present a heroic face for the America First movement.

Members of the groups were

Lone Eagle - Douglas Mansfield, who travelled the world after the murder of his wife, and was impressed by the German Military machine to the point he was convinced that the U.S. could never catch up. The fact that the Nazis showed him what they wanted him to see never dawned on him. Being a talented aeronautical engineer, he built a set of wings, and uses a pistol and a sword in his quest for social justice. [Hawkman meets Charles Lindburgh]

Swashbuckler - British Movie star Aaron Blair believe the war was interfering with his hedonistic lifestyle. That didn't prevent him from becoming more popular playing war heroes, but he used the money he made to bribe officials to keep him out of the service. Athletic when sober, he battles along side the like minded Lone Eagle to bring England peace in our time. [batman played by Errol Flynn]

Union Maid - Socialist congresswoman Annette Banks was trilled by the Nazi-Soviet Pact, and does what she can to keep America from aiding Britain. The Nazis, wanting to draw her closer into their orbit, gave her an occult device that gives the wearer superhuman strength. They failed to mention it will eventually kill her.

Grey Ghost - Senator Beauregard Davis Lee was an isolationist who believed that opposing the war would be his ticket to the White House. He had a possessed Confederate General's uniform that gave him the ability to pass thought walls, and fire ghost bullets from his cavary pistol. Unknown to Senator Lee, the uniform belonged to a vainglourious officer who tortured Union Prisoners at Andersonville, and continuted use of the powers will drive him mad.
