Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Factory Recall is the armour wearer of the group although most assume him to be a robot. He tends to communicate in the same way a computer does ie 'does not compute', 'threat level high: initiating lethal protocols'. Paul Fraser was raised in a normal family but became enthralled by the counter culture. This was enhanced by the way some of the rich behaved, cheating on tests, framing others and ensuring that they and their less gifted bretheren got into the best colleges. His disgust and disillusionment would have stayed just that except during a workers rally that was broken up heavy handed tactics he stumbled upon the battlesuit in an abandoned factory. Now the poor and oppressed would have someone on their side ! Except he was no leader so the first thing he did was look for one. And then as part of his disguise, he pretended to be a factory robot come to life.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

For years, Gerald Tolliver used his shrinking powers to be a sneak thief, though his thefts were typically not major and he mainly flew under the authorities' radar. A devoted son, Gerald tried to give his mother the proceeds of his thefts, but she knew how he got his money and refused to accept any of his "ill-gotten gains."

When his late father's company announced their pension plan was so far in the red that they had to slash pension payments to practically nothing, the implication didn't hit Gerald until his mother was losing their home to foreclosure. Still, she refused to accept Gerald's money, moving into a substandard home for seniors. Angry beyond reason, Gerald heard about the formation of the Corporate Raiders and offered his services. What nobody realized before is that Gerald could not only shrink himself, but others as well (for variable lengths of time). Taking the name Downsizer, Gerald now shrinks CEOs and let's them feel what it's like to be one of the "little people" for a while.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Charlton Cummings Jr. is Union the mentalist (and possible leader of the group). A former UAW member he became disillusioned because he did not think they were "agressive" enough. He sought to improve conditions by radical means. Gifted with an innate power of persuasion, he had discovered it was in fact a low form of mind control he subconciously projecting. He has now honed that ability. And has learned to use it to make CEOs obediently give them what the Raiders want. He has also developed a telepathic ability to scan the area and find people whose "feelings" coincide with theirs and to unite them to whatever ends the mission requires. Usually in a demonstration at the HQ of whomever is the target, that acts as a distraction for the Raiders to do as needed.

Note: If leader, met Factory Recall after his leave from UAW. They realized how they could help each other, and they have proceeded to recruit like minded individuals. Union gets occasionally annoyed by the robot talk however.

Fat Cat

A man with obesity who by "accident" got abducted and injected with housecat DNA via some loony rogue scientist. He now has joined the corporate raiders. No he doesnt care much one way or the other about the finance world, he just walked in one day to their hideout, announced himself as Fat Cat, suggested the name is appropriate for the group and has stuck around. Dont let the bulk fool you. Surprisingly agile for his size, has retractable claws and always lands on his feet.

Mark Futures lends his ability to broadcast future events to help keep the Raiders out of trouble. He says he sees the future, but he is actually mentally teleporting back to a younger self at a branch point to prevent the future he just lived through.

He and Captain Chronos do not get along at all

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Kiana Riverbird is Rainwalker, a powerful Sioux mystic with the ability to control the weather. She constantly decries about the endless violations big agribusiness does to Mother Earth and claims genetic hybrids of grains and livestock will poison &/or enslave humanity. Given the fact she can cause floods, drought and bitter freezing winter, she isn't someone you want to anger lightly.

She's also hiding a few things. First, her powers aren't magical -- she's actually a mutant. Secondly, she's about as Native American as the crying Indian was in those ol' pollution ads, which is to not in the slightest. And thirdly, her real name is Kelly Lattimer, Jason's Lattimer's kid sister. She's a mole for her big brother's interests, nudging the group subtly as to which way to attack next. Kelly loves making money as much as her brother does and REALLY loves manipulating "dumb hippies". Unbeknownst to Union, she also wears an amulet that protects her from his mental powers. Futures hasn't been able to "see" her either, which he hasn't quite realized yet.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The speedster of the Corporate Raiders is Daytrader, a former stock broker named Winston Geoffries who was coerced into making several quite profitable but shady trades at the behest of the CFO of a huge mutlinational mega-corporation. The accusations of insider information and other improprieties didn't touch the CFO at all, and all the blame (and all the punishment) was heaped on Geoffries.

He was enroute to prison when the bus he was riding in was attacked by ARGENT (trying to rescue another prisoner on the bus). An experimental stasis grenade landed in Geoffries' lap, and he had grabbed it just before it went off. During the minute the grenade was active, everybody around it was slowed to a crawl, but Geoffries sped up drastically. He escaped from the bus in the confusion, taking the grenade with him.

With the help of an engineer friend, Geoffries incorporated the stasis grenade's inner workings into an arm bracer that he can activate for a one-minute burst of super-speed (at the expense of anyone in his immediate vicinity). Repeated exposure to the stasis/speed field has left him slightly faster than normal (5 SPD) all of the time, and he expects that eventually he won't need the arm bracer at all. This may be good, as ARGENT has been unable to replicate the effect that their stasis grenade had upon Geoffries, so they now seem intent on "collecting" him and the bracer to figure out what went awry.

Daytrader swore revenge against the executives of the company that ended his stock market career, but this has since been extended to all corporate executives.

Daytrader's existence on the Corporate Raiders makes Jason Lattimer quite nervous, as Geoffries is knowledgeable enough about stock market manipulation to put together what the Werewolf of Wall Street is actually doing. This fear is not without merit, as Daytrader has gotten the first inklings that something is amiss in the Radiers' attacks on corporations and the effect those attacks have on stock prices. What Daytrader doesn't know is that Lattimer has faked a stock portfolio, supposedly owned by Mark Futures, so he can dump the blame on him if Daytrader ever gets proof of stock manipulation.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

New team: Amalgamated Construction, Mechanicals, and Expertise, Inc.

Not a group of supervillains, per se, but this group of six super-powered individuals (apparently without ethics or morals) constructs super-bases, designs and produces custom vehicles, and creates unique gadgets and other equipment ranging from personal weapons and body armor all the way up to massively-powerful plot devices. They also train supervillains' agents or provide temp agents to round out a villain's forces for special jobs. Each member has a specialty (i.e. bases, battlesuits, agent training, etc.), which should be noted in that member's information or name.

Kevin Osborne, alias Electrode, is ACME's resident weapons crafter. Given his own mind, he builds weapons that shoot some form of electric-based energy (plasma, ions, lightning, etc.), but he's adept at anything, including custom-built conventional firearms. He does this thanks to a brain implant (possibly the work of a colleague in ACME) that gives him and enhanced perception of energy storage and conversion. He's in this mostly for the money... though if the client is female or has close female associates another form of payment can be arranged.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Top Kick, former US Army sergeant Beatriz Toross, was dishonorably discharged after one too many recruits she was the drill sergeant for died in mysterious training accidents. She has no actual superpowers, but does have access to an extradimensional space where time passes much faster than it does on Earth. She can get three months of minion training done in under a week in this fashion. ACME has developed a serum that slows her aging while she's in "Dimension Boot"; she's realized it's addictive, but the pay is good and the training regimen is fun--for her. Pity a couple of recruits fail to survive her methods every "year."

(Inspired by the Villain Theme Team thread)

Just for fun, I thought we might collectively create a few villain theme teams..

Out of curiosity, how many do we have so far?

How many palindomedary taglines have I written?

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The matter-manipulator and semi-speedster known as Quickrete is a genius when it comes to base design and construction. With his powers, he can turn a plot of empty land into a multi-story underground structure, ready for weapons placement and furnishing, in under a week. If the villain is willing to pay ACME a premium fee, he can even pull a few all-nighters and get it done in a few days, though that can be *really* wearing on him.

He even dabbles in interior design (color schemes, furniture selection, etc.), trying to give each villain's base its own distinctive style, though he's found that his assistant Alyssa is much better at doing this.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Satanic Mechanic is Yuri Breslov. He's the resident vehicle maintainer and constructor. Also a contradiction. A Russian born and raised in Australia he talks with an Aussie accent 'G'Day mate !'. He just found working on the opposite side of the law was better for him. He loves musicals and often has that playing while he works via the tannoys rather than an IPod. As his taste (or lack thereof) runs to 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert', people find him off putting despite the fact that he looks just like a big guy in overalls.

He has a knack off working out what is wrong with a vehicle after a couple of hours working on it. And when designing vehicles for clients he works well with Electrode on weapons placement and Top Kick for crew manning and distributing the load across the vehicle. If Quickrete has to do an all nighter, Yuri will be the one with him to make sure all the passageways for vehicles are correct and that this is taken care of before the former even starts.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Top Kick's greatest trainee (or at the very least most durable) and the man who's usually sent out as a "temp hench" is Ari Rojas, aka Coyote Red. Sure, he's just glorified cannon fodder for the most part, but he's not stupid. He does his damn best to keep his neck off the chopping block when given orders. And he does Top Kick proud while out in the field (not that she'll ever admit it) both in combat and in stealth. Still, Ari has an uncanny knack for crawling out of deadly scrapes that would kill most people, something that's rather handy when the client can be more than a bit trigger happy...

"Crawling" is right. Coyote Red is somehow able to resurrect himself. He's died and come back over a hundred times already. Of course, he has no invulnerability and his healing factor is slower than frozen molasses, so it freakin' HURTS when it comes to pulling himself back together (sometimes literally). It says something about Ari's mental fortitude that he hasn't snapped yet. But he stays with ACME regardless. He's also very good at providing them updated information about their clients and the heroes who oppose them. Today's client might be tomorrow's target and it always pays to be on top of things. ACME will never subcontract Ari out to villains like Teilos or Dr. Destroyer -- they don't want to risk losing Ari permanently to a vivisectionist's table.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The young woman known as Hideaway has the ability to turn anything (or anybody) invisible for one hour. Unfortunately, once she turns something invisible, she can't use her power again until the prior use wears off.

Other than her mutant ability, she is also incredibly perceptive, able to spot most any danger coming or any trap or ambush laid for Dragon Transport. When she has a "bad feeling," her teammates know to take it seriously.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The weapon specialist simply known as Gunner is the next member of the group. When a gunfight is necessary he is the man you want. When gunfight is not necessary, he is the man you want when the gunfight starts. He is known as a bit trigger happy, so a gunfight is almost a given.

He is generally an ordinary (well highly trained ordinary) guy that is a master of nearly any weapon known (guns, swords, knives it doesnt matter, he'll find a way). His only unusual ability is the fact that no matter how heavy the incoming fire is, he almost never gets hit, and when he does it is inevitably a graze. This is a mystery to everyone, especially considering "dive for cover" isnt in his vocabulary.

He also seems to be overprotective of Hideaway, like a big brother would be towards a little sister.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Most of the actual deliveries (handing the package to the intended recipient) are made by the one known only as The Man in Brown. He has the uncanny ability to know exactly where the person is to whom the package needs to be delivered (even if invisible, mystically cloaked, or lost for 20 years), as long as that person is alive (or otherwise sentient). He can bypass any lock or barrier between him and that person, as if those impediments didn't even exist. He also appears to be invulnerable; TMIB has wandered through a raging firefight to deliver a package, and even though his clothing was shot full of holes, he did not appear to be injured.

He does not have any offensive powers, and is indeed the most inoffensive person you could ever meet. He's quiet, unassuming, and generally content just to make his delivery and move on to the next one.

I made a mistake in my counting, and Dragon Transport Service is actually team #96. So here is team #97:

New Team: Full Spectrum

The theme of this 7-person team is the colors of the rainbow. They are villains for hire, handling everything from information gathering to sabotage to theft to assassination. Yes, the full spectrum of crime. Individuals may specialize, but the team as a whole has to cover all the bases.
