Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The mysterious woman known as Dido represents the Legion's interests in northern Africa. All of her agents are women. Though they are all highly trained in various martial arts, Dido's agents are not front line combatants. Instead, they serve as a deeply entrenched network of seductive spies and saboteurs. Many a powerful man in business or politics has had information slipped to a mistress or courtesan secretly trained by Dido. Dido herself is an accomplished swordswoman, but carries a laser pistol just in case.

Dido despises sharia law and has been in conflict with certain fundamental powers throughout the region. Through dummy fronts, she does her best to rescue women in danger by religious courts. A lot of her agents she recruits and trains are actually grateful women who have nothing left to lose and are now eager for revenge.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Coriallanus

This is the Legion controller of Italy. Coriallanus is unlike the stereotype of Italians of recent years very cruel, brutal and not afraid of a fight. His Legion are the ones who do a lot of fighting. And like the Coriallanus of legend Coriallanus cares nothing what the people think of him nor what the other members of the Legion think of him.

If any of the others do step out of line it is Coriallanus who comes after them and kills them.

Coriallanus is skilled with all sorts of weaponary and is stronger. more agile and more endurable than normal men. However he is not as strong as a brick.

There is no record of Coriallanus's real name and the last telepath who got past his mental defenses died screaming.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Scipio Americanus

You know how some things are a great success story ? Well America specifically the USA was the great failure for the Legion. Time after time they were defeated by the police, the FBI, informers, traitors, undercover operatives or superhero groups who constantly thwarted their plans. The last time Coriallanus was sent in to wipe out the remnants of the Legion who had ruined things so completely. The US trumpeted that they had rid the country and the continent of the Legion once and for all. Enter Scipio. He was sent in to reconquer the country. Slowly but surely he succeeded like his forebears in Spain and Africa beforehand. True he was helped by the War on Terror, Bush's elections and the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nonetheless he was successful and has kept the Legion out of the headlines. His Legion has the highest number of non-combat agents. His wars are conducted in the boardroom, the courts, senate buildings, city halls and in the press. For his success he was awarded the cognomen Americanus. Scipio is on good terms with Dido and very cautious of Marcus Aurelius and Coriallanus

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

The Legion would be remiss if it ignored phenomena that could not be explained. And that's where Roary Blake aka Hadrian comes in. Situated in the United Kingdom, Hadrian's forces may not be as numerous as the other Centurions, but when dealing with mystic and psychic abilities, they have the edge and they've infiltrated many cults, occult orders and pseduo-scientific organizations throughout Europe. Rumour has it that Hadrian himself is a powerful druid, but he only smiles at such talk. Other rumours have him as having powerful divination abilities.

Hadrian actually lives "outside of time". In fact, the myths of the original Merlin were based off of him. He is trying to nudge our time line back to the future he remembers most clearly.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Wow! Halfway done already. I already said so in repping, but you two rock!

The Centurion known as Gallica heads the Legion's interests in Syria and runs operations in much of the Middle East. Many of his agents were recruited from various terrorist groups, especially radical Islamic groups. Though his loyalty to the Legion is first and foremost, it is rumored that Gallica shares some views with these radical groups. Needless to say, Gallica and Dido don't always see eye to eye.

Gallica is a strong telekinetic whose most well-known tactic is to shape his TK forces into a large bull shape to smash his enemies. However, like most telekinetics he is able to use his powers with subtlety.

Pompey

Pompey has built resources in Austraila. Most of his branch is devoted to resource mining down under. Naturally he executes dirty tricks against rivals, various law enforcement and inspectors, and ecologists of various stripes.

Pompey rarely demonstrates his personal power, but is believed able to generate a destructive wave of liquid rock at a target.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Conquistador represents the Legion in South and Central America. Though he personally pilots a suit of powered armor, his main strength is his mastery of genetic engineering. He creates legions of genetically engineered soldiers in his compound in the Amazon. He is often found wandering in the jungle in search of some new sort of frog or shrub. He is surprisingly popular with the locals, and is often told by them about potentially valuable plants or animals. All who oppose him will have to face his deadly Leotoads.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Longinus rules over Afghanistan, Pakistan, and India. A former legionaire under Coriallanus. He found what he claims is the "spear of destiny" on a mission. He eventually was given a leadership role when the opening occurred.

The Spear he wields is largely thought unlikely to be the real Spear of Destiny (studies show it dates about 100 years too late). But, it does have powers. The limited studies done by the Legion suggest it varies upon the user. For, Longinus it seems to manifest in providing him much enhanced strength, speed, and senses. It also seems to be able to fire a beam of electricity out of the tip. But, Longinus doesnt use that often. Coriallanus trained him to be an expert at close quarters combat. And in fact Longinus prefers it that way, as he is slightly psychotic.

Generally Longinus gets agents who are misfits or have fallen out of favor with other Centurions. Longinus is a better trainer than leader. And his training methods are very...rough. It provides good motivation for the hapless "failure" to earn back favor. Those that stay long term are usually a bit bloodthirsty and psychotic like their new master.

Longinus mostly oversees the Legion's interest in the Afghan opium trade. Mostly with Longinus' psychotics acting as protection for the various drug lords.

It also should be noted that Longinus is still rather loyal himself to Coriallanus. And some of those within the organization that rivals of Coriallanus suspect he is a mere puppet to Coriallanus.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Gaius Marius

Russia, Mongolia, China and Japan fall under one member of the Legion. He's a great innovator. He has assumed the name Gaius Marius. Marcus Aurellius believes he did it to prove a point, to foster change, to rebel. Marius lobbied hard to get the US and feels doubly snubbed that Scipio got the US and then that Conquistador got South America. He has remarked that the latter has nothing to do with Rome and its history unlike the others. He has also pointed out gently that Dido was from Carthage ancient enemies of Rome. On the other hand a woman in charge in North Africa is not what anyone would expect and thus she is good for the movement.

He has been less than subtle with Gallica and Longinus. He has said directly to their faces 'One false step and I'm down on you like the Genghis Khan's horde.' Marius fears no-one in the organisation and although he does not like Marcus Aurelius he will side with him for a united Europe. Marcus Aurelius has tried to placate his Middle Eastern and India sub-continent colleagues but has indicated that an attack by either on North Africa will see him back Marius against both regardless of Coriallanus's orders.

Marius gets on well with Pompey which has raised worries in the others but if push comes to shove they believe that Scipio will be unleashed to fight them.

Marius appears to be a European of middle age and affects Roman Republic military uniform when he is seen by anyone. Accounts of his abilities vary between being a standard brick to having a variety of skills and powers. What is known is that he is a master of military tactics at solo, small unit, regiment and even army size. He has been a Centurion for over 25 years.

His Legionnaires appear and disappear like Ninjas and have non-descript outfits. None have ever been captured alive.

Marius does not exactly trust Hadrian and wonders just what he is upto.

This leave the +1. As the majority of the names are all pre-Roman Empire can we have a non Emporer name ? Such as Consul, Consul General, Censor, Dictator, Senate or Senator but not Caeser (too obvious). There are always Republican names like Horatius, Cicero, Brutus (not just the name of one of Caeser's killers) and Cato.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Once a Centurion of the early years of the Legion, the current Censor fought his way to the top using psychology, dirty tricks, intricate alliances with other Centurions or outside forces, and anything else at his disposal to take over after the previous Censor was assassinated. With the motivations and mindsets of the ten Centurions so vastly different, one would expect that getting them all to pursue any common goals would be harder than herding cats, but the Censor seems to be able to do it with only a modicum of internal conflict.

The Censor is a teleporter who is also a brilliant strategic and tactical genius. Since his powers extend to extra-dimensional teleportation (he has been known to banish foes or even recalcitrant underlings to alternate dimensions), there are rumors he can even travel through time and has studied with some of the greatest military and political minds throughout history. He will neither confirm nor deny those rumors. He appears to be a fit man in his mid 50s, with greying black hair and a well-trimmed beard. He runs the Legion from a villa on a private island in the Mediterannean.

The rumors are true; the Censor is able to travel through time, though he didn't perfect this ability until relatively recently in the current timeline. Some of his technology is from one of his visits to the future (or at least, a future), as are the medical nannites that have arrested his aging and repair his injuries.

As I chose the current team and death tribble has contributed so much to the Centurions, I cede the selection of the next team to death tribble.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

I which case the team will be something different.

The Supervillain Army

You've heard of rock supergroups, well how about a supervillain supergroup made up of members from other groups. And taking a line from Cygnia who uses this a lot, you must use the spoiler to reveal one flaw about the member of the group you post. This flaw MUST NOT be that they are law enforcement or a double agent.

There will be seven of these all of whom are radically different from the rest. One is a normal human but the rest are not.

You must also detail part of the career of the member in his other group or groups.

Preferably do not use people from earlier in this thread.

To start the ball rolling here is my contribution. You want something that the Moral Majority will fear ? You got it !

He's big, demonic, red, has horns and great strength. You know him as Diablocus. Member of the feared Night Battalion and before that a servant of the evil sorceror Dr Nymax !, his fights with law enforcement in the shape of superheroes have become the stuff of contemporary legend.

He sits and he broods but when he is called to action, none may resist him and live.

Now the world will tremble as Diablocus has joined forces with other deadly foes to form The Supervillain Army.

Diablocus is a big red demon (10ft plus) with horns and a rock like hide. He does not have wings and refuses to accept anyone from the infernal realms as his master.

Diablocus is crippled by doubt. One of the reasons why he has failed so often is he thinks things have gone too easy and then begins the process of second guessing and overthinking.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

(Inspiration seems quite prominant with me at the moment as this one came about last night)

You really have not made it as a Teen Hero (trade mark and patent pending) until you have faced an arch foe and who better than Ren the Space Weasel!

For over 30 years the yardstick against which the nascent Teen Heroes of Teen Brigade, Hot Young Teens, Teen Goodness, Righteous Teens and Teen America have fought against has been this irritating speedster. From the original League of Naughtiness through the Wild Feral Battalion and Anti American Teen Force, this wretched quasi Furry rodent has been a thorn in the side of Teens sworn todo good for America. With his high pitched laugh, his hyperactive zig zag movement and his bushy tail Ren the Space Weasel is a confounded nuisance. Never captured although knocked out his accelerated metabolism has made him spring back to consciousness before zipping away, again. And now he has joined up with The Supervillain Army. Will his dasterdly deeds finally bring him to book ?

While the teen heroes get to retire, the same is not true for the villains. When Teen Brigade were formed a villain team was created to oppose them. Time passed and people moved on or did other things. Except you can't do that if you are a supervillain. Ren has been the bad guy for over 35 years. He's close to burn out. He's addicted to painkillers as the beating he has taken over the years have taken their toll. And now he's on amphetamines, speed for his speed. Both are washed down with alcohol. He's never had that career defining caper and now he is looking for the one big score that will enable him to retire once and for all. He does side jobs out of his ID just to build up money to retire. This is his last chance at greatness. Mind you Mechanon might wreck this as well. The robot nearly killed him twenty years ago and may do so again.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

I'm assuming the latter.

Every army needs sergeants, and the one for the Supervillain Army is Sergeant Stryker. Though he is over 50 years old, he is incredibly fit and would appear to be in his 30s if not for his graying buzzcut hair. The recipient of a formula stolen (by VIPER) from a failed Super-Soldier program, Stryker is stronger, faster, tougher, and has better reflexes than most normal people. He has also sought extensive training in martial arts, mastering several styles and still pursuing others.

After leaving VIPER, Stryker spent some time leading agents for various supervillain groups before settling into a long-term job as right-hand man to Technus Prime, an extra-terrestrial robot sent to scout Earth for an alien invasion. Over the years, Stryker has accumulated a good amount of high-tech weapons and equipment, as well as contacts and favors throughout the supervillian community.

While the super-soldier formula did boost Sgt. Stryker’s physical characteristics to peak human levels, he is seeking actual superpowers. He is even considering asking Diablocus if there is a way his infernal cohorts might grant him powers.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

Miseri is one of the Four Generals of the Shadowed Queen who have faced Japan's Bishoujo Senshi many times with limited success. Her most recent failure and the resulting punishment has caused her to strike out on her own, gathering a diverse group of warriors in the hopes that the Senshi will be unprepared to fight opponents so far out of the ordinary for them. With their help she plans to strike down the Senshi and lead them into the Queen's throne room in shackles. But her scheme doesn't stop there. With the Shadowed Queen's attention on her hated enemies, her guard will be down, and Miseri and her allies will strike, launching a coup d'etat that will let her seize the throne and then launch an invasion of the Earth that will succeed where the Queen has always failed. Miseri has the power to teleport between dimensions, and shoot mystic chains out of her body that can strike or restrain opponents. And she can take over the minds of very unhappy people and turn them into monsters under her control.

Miseri is desperately lonely and can be easily manipulated by someone who offers her affection.

How do you post a spoiler box?

Quote someone's post and you'll see how it's done.

Re: Create a Villain Theme Team!

In the remote reaches of the far future, wars are fought by gigantic, sentient war mecha. A new, prototypical model was designed with the ability to shrink down to human size. However, a temporal anomaly sent it into the present day. It joined a supervillain team called The Anarchy Army under the name of Tank On Legs. They worked for years to plunge the world into chaos and war. Tank has recently joined the Supervillain Army.

Tank is addicted to war. Anyone who offered him a sufficiently large conventional war to fight in would receive his unquestioning allegiance. He could be neutralized by sending him off to fight in such a war.

The orignal Saturn in the Planetary Pantheon was as previously mentioned Uranus' true son. This Saturn was greedy and manipulative and was at odds with his father. Eventually the 2 battled and Uranus (unlike myth) defeated his son. Since then, the orginal Saturn was thought dead. He has since emerged as Diablocus's #2 and is now called Cronus. He carries a scythe that he can use to create thunder, lightning and earth tremors. And he has the stereotypical evil villain goatee.

Cronus still has his lust for power. So, Diablocus who has limited trust for the man, keeps a watchful eye.

Meet Marv. He has moved from Viper to Argent to Demon to Dr. Destroyer to Psi to most everyone else. He's the henchman's henchman. There's nothing he can't shoot, nothing he can't break. He blends in with the rest of the minions with a skill a spy could use.

Marv gets bored easily and engineers a spectacular defeat that he can survive so he can move on to another army.

The Chrononauts

The world has suffered terrible collapse. This group has been sent back to stop the collapse by killing the cause or causes.

The group number is ten.

There are three problems for this group. A version of them already exists in this timeline so pick someone from this thread. All of them have a code versus killing. They don't know who to kill to stop the collapse so split up to take on their own favorite target to change the future.

Threadbare

It happened. I tried to prevent it, I did everything I could, but it felt like Fate was conspiring against me all along. So many innocent lives lost, so much destruction. One simple thing I tried desperately to avoid and I failed!

I was so damn naive then, even with all my knowledge and power. I'm broken. Every nerve on fire, every memory and foresight swirling together to inflict the pain again anew. I should be dead. I wish I was dead. But it's going to happen again. One more chance to stop it from happening. To make it right. One simple meeting just has to be stopped. I already KNOW that it's never supposed to happen! I should have listened to him. I should have listened to them both.

But now I know. I just don't know if I'm going to believe myself in time...

Weaver tried to desperately warn The Historian that both of them should never come into contact with Timekeeper at the same place and the same time. But whether it was arrogance or curiosity, the Historian ignored him. And somehow, that meeting unleashed a chronal rift that caused a ripple effect to other entities who then also became pivotal points in causing the collapse of the world. This new Historian is now trying his best to stop himself in time and is still trying to figure out who the other entities are, especially the ones his teammates are connected to.
