The Pirates of the Cyber Main

Number: 6

It's the 21st century and piracy has evolved with the times -- for the most part.  While these criminals have adapted to technology and commit crimes in the new medium (computer hacking, music piracy, identity fraud, etc), they also remember the flare (and fear) of the buccaneers of old!

Excuse me Mr President !

This villain appears as a US President like Lincoln and he then starts to batter people. Even as Franklin D Roosevelt who runs people down in a wheelchair or batters with a walking stick. His defenses are about martial arts standard but he has an advantage that most Americans won't punch someone dressed as a past President. What he is after is anyone's guess but he will punch anyone.

Aww, you should have gone with Dishonest Abe

Black Bart

They say he is a pirate of the old type. They say he has rules as to what can and cannot be done. They say that Mr Roberts likes to be addressed as Captain. They say that his yacht, The Royal Fortune, was paid for by all forms of piracy. And they say it has all sorts of modern weaponry. Not to mention sophisticated radio, radar and evasion equipment. They say that the IRS could not prove that his income was illegal nor could Homeland Security. They say that Bartholomew likes to dress the part and is a gentleman even though he is a pirate. But don't say that to his face. Of all the group he embraces the part the most.

And for those that need it, here is wikipedia's list of famous pirates. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_pirates

Sam the Axe is the pirate name of one Samuel Axeman the 4th, idle rich bastard turned modern day pirate. Unlike the others, his trademark weapon are a pair of hi-tech axes. He also carries a energy gun disguise as a flintlock pistol. When not pirateing, he likes to 'pirate' music, and shred on his gutar (another 'axe' as you will recall).

Freejack

There are better hackers and in truth there are more ruthless hackers. But none have the panache, the swagger or the cult following of Freejack. And you have Johnny Depp to blame for what happened next as he went by calling himself Freejack Sparrow, Or taunting the police that they would rue the day that they almost caught Captain Freejack Sparrow. He even goes so far as to dress up as Mr Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow which lead to both being arrested at one point. He is also fixated on doing real pirate stuff like putting treasure in places where X marks the spot or the lure of a big haul and even black pearls. Freejack calls Black Bart Admiral as the latter is more successful and to be honest more ruthless. But he owes him favours as he got him out of jail on more than one occassion.

Ching Shih learned she had a gift for smuggling at an early age in the harbors of Hong Kong.  Shortly thereafter, she learned she had an even better gift for running a global smuggling network.  Taking the name of China's legendary pirate queen, today she plies the oceans in a luxurious (and very heavily armed) yacht, directing operations from its command center.  It is said that she secretly owns a thousand ships and a thousand planes, including submarines, disguised aircraft carriers, bought-off warships, and stealth bombers.

It's all for me blog, Me jolly, jolly blog!

It's all for me post counts and comments!

I spent all me day, thinkin' what I'm goin' ta say!

Across the internet I must waaaander!

Captain FaceHook slammed back another glass of rum and looked up a the parrot on the perch above his computer.  "Well, Twitter, where d'ye say we aim our cannons today?"

The parrot spread its wings.  "Squak!  Unlink 'em, me mateys!  Ahoy!"

FaceHook laughed heartily.  "Aye!  LinkedIn, prepare to be boarded!"  He began tapping away at the keyboard, using exploits coded into the professional network's site to gain access to supposedly secure information.  Linking their databases to some of his own drawing on newsfeeds and other social media, FaceHook ran code that mapped connections both direct and indirect between up-and-coming movers and shakers of the business world.  When several intersecting lines flashed gold, he followed the trail to the "X" that marked the spot.

Within moments, FaceHook was connected to Black Bart on Skype.  "Avast, Bart!  Looks like we've got a back-room deal brewing between Dew Chemical and MegaMart.  Time to run up the colors and corner the market!"

Well, we've had pirates, so of course we need ninjas.  Or zombies.  Heck, why not both?

NT:  The Hand of Undeath is a group of five martial arts masters of the night... the Endless Night.  Yes, these ninjas are all undead.  (No need to restrict ourselves to zombies.  Ghosts, ghouls, wraiths, vampires, werewolves... any may apply!)  Their masters are all dead, so the Hand now works to exact others' revenge.  They don't work for hire, they just seem to find targets worthy of deadly vengeance.

There are stories of the assassin Oda. He can enter any establishment and vanish with no one the wiser. The reason for this is that Oda is a spirit possessing a sword. He uses a pawn to mail himself to the target's vicinity, picks up another pawn to do the actual murder, then mails himself to a random address.

Sometimes he passes through the hands of the unwary, slicing and dicing their friends until he gets to his original destination.

Asam Arum

Although, he has never technically died.  He doesnt seem to be quite alive either.  No one knows how to explain it.  But, it started when he came into posession of 2 cursed Muramasa swords.  The strength of "their" desire for the taste of blood seems to have put him in this state between life and death.  And it is impossible to know how much control is "his" and how much is "them".   He is an expert in 2 sword fighting, and "their" power has only made him supernaturally stronger.

Edit: Accidentally missed typing a letter in the name

The Vampire Ninja

He only comes out at night,

the lean and hungry type.

Whoa here he comes !

Watch out boys he'll chew you up.

Whoa ! Here he comes,

He's a maneater.

(with apologies to Hall and Oates)

All those legends of ninjas taking ridiculous amounts of damage and still being alive maybe due to this guy. He never removes the traditional uniform but you can see he is Oriental extraction and he has red eyes. He prefers to get up close to his targets and kill them. In deference to his team mates he uses other forms of killing, like strangling, poisons, shurikans and even on one occassion paper cuts. He tends to defer to the old ways of the ninja and does the whole ninja walk thing. He also uses the smoke bombs and flash bombs. The fact that he does not need to as he is a vampire has not escaped the attention of the others. Whether he is one of those Oriental vampires who can walk abroad in daylight is unknown. But he can fetch Oda if something goes wrong with that assassin's assignment.

Once upon a time, there was a woman who lived on the outskirts of her small town all alone.

Well, almost alone.

Her only companion was a stray cat she had rescued from a gang of children who were tormenting the poor creature.  She fed him, gave him a warm place to sleep, made sure he was healthy and had no fleas and always had her lap open for him.  In return, he purred and loved her back and kept the home free and clear of annoying vermin.

The people of this small town didn't really like this woman.  At best, she was "pitiful and "sad".  At most, she was "weird" and "crazy".  And at worst...well, let's just say at worst, there was a reason this woman preferred to be a shut-in rather than expose herself to such horrible accusations and lies.  Worse still were the townsfolk who just ignored the venomous gossip and did nothing to speak out against it or speak up for her.  After all, it's not like anyone important was actually hurt by it...they were just words.

Besides, she wasn't one of them.  Not really...

One tragic night however, her place was burned down.  No one knew why.  No one investigated deeper.  They blamed it on faulty wiring and that was that.

So authorities ignored the fact that the poor woman had actually been stabbed before the house was burned.  Or that there were traces of accelerant in the remains.  And her beloved cat had been dismembered...

*****

In the wake of that horrible crime, the spirits of the woman and cat melded and merged into a creature of shadow and vengeance -- the Bakeneko.  Like the kunoichi of legend, she stalks and spies on her targets in disguise.  Hiding behind smiles and pretty words, she watches and waits for her victim to be vulnerable before she tears him apart with claws and teeth of fire.  In between assignments, one by one the children of her old town are winding up missing -- starting with the gang of now-teenagers who first attacked her cat...and later murdered them both.  The children of the investigators on her blew-off closed case will be next...

Snow Lily was born Yuri Shiroyuki.  She is a modern kunoichi who uses her disguise, seduction and chemistry skills for corporate espionage.  A certain zaibatsu hired her during the beginning of the Iraq war to retrieve secret documents indicating their complicity in atrocities committed by the Saddam Hussein regime.  The infiltration and theft parts of the mission went off swimmingly, but Yuri ran into a snag when the too-rapidly advancing US forces cut off her escape route.  She was forced to make a detour through a bombed-out cemetery, and was caught there by a pack of ghuls who had been freed from imprisonment.  To save herself from mission failure, she agreed to undergo a blasphemous rite that turned her into a ghul as well.  She promised to return to her new clan once her current mission was completed, but a Coalition anti-undead squad wiped them out in the meantime.

The ghul transformation gives Snow Lily several advantages.  She is immune to both hemotoxins and neurotoxins, can survive on very limited oxygen, and her blood does not flow quickly from her body, limiting bleeding damage.  She also feels little pain, so is effectively much stronger than she looks.  On the other hand, her skin has a greyish pallor, she is cool to the touch, and her breath is terrible.  (It's surprising how many men will overlook these small details.)  Also, she can no longer eat cooked food; only dead and rotting meat and vegetation will nourish her, and she has a special taste for human corpses.  Snow lily will often kill a random homeless person and stash them somewhere to have a snack for later.

ETA:  New team!

Money Matters is a four-person mercenary team that specializes in money-related crimes.  They're highly-skilled and command large fees.  And of course, each of them has powers or themes related to some sort of money.  They sometimes kill in the course of their assignments, but are not assassins.

Coinpurse is a ferrokinetic, able to mold and modify metals at her touch.  However, for some reason (most likely a mental block), Coinpurse's powers only work on metal from coins.  Because of this, she usually carries many, many coins of various compositions and denominations.  Her work "uniform" is a jumpsuit stolen from the San Francisco mint, with coins sewed all over it (both inside and outside).  When going into combat, she can turn these coins into a suit of scale or plate mail (albeit not as tough as normal armor).

Coinpurse's power works incredibly rapidly -- she can merge a pile of pennies into a copper and zinc shield in two seconds (shaped like a giant penny, naturally).  Her metal modification isn't restricted to shape -- with concentration, Coinpurse can imbue her creations with altered magnetic fields or temperature variations as well, with an incredible amount of control.  (The other members of Money Matters believe Coinpurse is also mildy cyberkinetic, since she can create thin metallic cards with valid magnetic strips able to unlock security doors or access bank and credit card accounts.)

While Coinpurse could theoretically modify common coins into rare collectible coins, she refuses to do so.  In fact, when she is done with metal from coins, she always returns it to the original coins (down to the year and mint mark) from which it came.

Lastly, Coinpurse is an autistic savant.  (Imagine a female version of Dustin Hoffman's Rainman.)

Mamon clames to be the demon of greed. In reality, he is simply an overobsessed coin colector turned supercrinimal to the tune of the old Adam West Batman villians. But unlike them, he is willing to kill anyone who stops him from improving his colection.

His weapions/equipment are:

1) Coin Sword. (a blunt sword with sharpened coins hammered into the edges).

2) Coin Mail Suit (for protection).

3) The 30 Pieces (a bag with 30 coin shaped silver explosives).

4) Coin Shurken from Japan.

5) Coin Belt (much like what can be found on an arcade atendant, usable to store things like a coin shaped smoke pellet).

6) Coin Shield (a simple round shield, but designed to appear to be a huge replica of a coin).

His costume is golden and green, with red symbles of the vareous money of the world on it (like the dollar sign, the pound sign, the yen sign, ect...)

Aurum

He seems to be some kind of one-armed ghoul or undead thing of some such , except with the special ability of having a "gold sense", the ability to sense gold within a certain area.

Note:  In fact, he IS the man with the golden arm from the legend.  His gold sense comes from the fact he is still searching for it

New team time I guess

SuperFight Club, 6-8 members.  These guys live to fight.   While they will occasionally hire out as mercenaries they are really motivated by a desire to challenge superheroes to do battle.   Each has a different archetype of powers (speedster, brick, mentalist, gadgeteer, etc)

Lamont Markland has trained and trained, working on improving his reflexes. His only shot at being a contender was to be able to move faster than his opponents in the ring. He finally crossed an invisible boundary and found that he was ridiculously fast and able to dodge anything he could see. He can't hit very hard, but his lightning flurry allows him to hit hundreds of times in a row as the Left Hook.

Regen is the fight name of one Dan LeZard. A normal man once, he had the misfortune of getting into an accident while visiting Canada, and worse, where Tellos could find him. The almost dead man was a perfect test subject for various healing factors tests. When he finally awaken, Tellos gave him a bill for his 'services', and forced him to fight in the underground fighting network to earn profet to pay Tellos back (and, surprise, a perfect testing ground to prove his healing factor operation).

Gary Simms was never interested in fighting which annoyed his father greatly. So he hired street toughs to beat up his son. But something odd happened. They all lost. All of them were far superior fighters, but no matter how hard they hit him, or what they hit him with they couldn't make him stay down. After bricks and metal bats failed to o much as bruise him his father hired a superstrong mercenary to beat him up. To everyones surprise Gary suddenly exhibited superstrength, and the mercenary got beat up. No fool Gary finally realized somewhere out there he had an enemy. Clearly one who knew of his abilities and was out to destroy him.

So now with the ability to match his opponents strength and to absorb any physical blow Gibraltar ha started beating his way through the city confusing everyone when he asks are they the ones. And making his father very afraid of the day Gary realizes who was behind the attacks

Ask a bunch of Martial Artists to name the most well known of their fraternity and the chances are that there is one name in common on their lists: Sandra Watkins. She is not the best martial artist in the world, nor is she the most infamous but she is the one that has fought more than anyone.

While her peers became Cheerleaders and Geeks, Goths and Jocks, Sandra learned Karate. From then on she was always getting into fights to hone her craft.

She fights for the sheer joy of fighting. She is listed in Underground arenas and the mainstream.

She is a fixture on the Internet where you can order merchandise such as 'I fought Sandra Watkins and only got this lousy T-shirt', 'I fought Sandra Watkins and lived', 'I fought Sandra Watkins and she broke my [bone]' and the ever popular 'I fought Sandra Watkins and she broke my heart'. There is also the one which caused a lot of legal trouble with the Skyrim people. 'I was a martial artist until Sandra Watkins kicked me in the knee'

She has managed to stay out of jail by not fighting police officers and indeed saved some from being attacked. The judge was persuaded by her argument that what she did was combat and that allowing the officers to be cut down was tantamount to committing murder herself.

Thus it was surprising that the rest of the group had so much trouble finding her. They spent 6 months going where they thought she would be only to find out she was elsewhere. Finally when they had given up they were surprised when she appeared before them. Battered and bruised with a black eye she said 'Here you folks are looking for me, why ?'

'Because with us, you are home. You wanna fight and so do we.' was the reply.

And Sandra smiled. Finally she had a family of like minded people.

Sandra is a very skilled martial artist addicted to fighting. It does not matter to her who the best is, but that a fight takes place where the skills are displayed for all or as many as possible to see. Sandra will fight usually any martial artist of any discipline i.e. boxing, fencing, kung fu, wrestling, karate etc. And it does not necessarily have to be for money.

When fighting in arenas she goes by the name Mad Monkey.

The others worry about her because her addiction is like alcohol or drugs. She loses herself in the moment. And her body won't last forever.

Mind Gladiator, aka Kurt Wu, is a powerful telepath/telekinetic who really wanted to be a martial artist, but his physical body just couldn't keep up.  So he has learned to apply martial arts concepts to his mental powers and fights that way.  His code of honor requires him not to use his brain-affecting powers on anyone who does not possess such powers themselves, so many people only know about his skill with telekinesis.  However, his honor code only applies in combat, he's happy to use his powers to eavesdrop on people's thoughts and control their actions to get his teammates out of jail.
