(I had a commando x for my writing, I should used him for a hero before this. What can I do for this?)

Ray Sloan is a hero who spent most of his youth as the bearer of the lightblade. it made him stronger, faster, and capable of many light related feats. He stopped using it when his children were born. They became heroes on their own. he decided that maybe he should get back into the game. So the Light Blade was reborn in a modern era

R.I.P Royale

Ripley "Rip" Royale comes from a long line of globe trotting adventurers and he was no exception. Active in the 1930s he explored all manner of exotic locales and battled a collection of colorful and insidious ne'er-do-wells. He appeared to meet his end during the waning days of World War 2 when he and his band of misfits known as Royale's Roustabouts(Johnny Akimbo, Eagle-Eye Sue, Chutzpah Kid, Two-Fisted Flynn and Aces O'Hallaren) battled Count Necros. Rip and the Count were locked in battle when his Necronic Cannon blew up taking the top half of Castle Necros with it. Miraculously Rip reappeared in 1965 and aided the O.O.O(Office of Odd Occurrences) in battling an otherwordly horror in Dunwich and again Rip seemed to parish while defeating the beast. He appeared yet again in '84 to assist his great  nephew and niece Fortune and Glory Royale in defeating the Red Circle Gang. He once again appeared in '95 to help Tech Noir, Minuteman, Valhalla and Youth Gone Wild when the K'Varn invaded Earth. How he keeps coming back from the dead is unknown but some theories refer to the Necronic energy he absorbed while others believe he may be an Eternal Hero destined to be summoned back to fight evil forever. The fact remains that he has once again returned and united the others as the Golden Agers to battle a threat that is ancient and that will require all of their vast experience and knowledge to defeat.

From Mexico comes Luchador Rojo and Mujer Maravilla who are famous in real life and on the show for bickering with each other. He is schooled in wrestling but also judo and he prefers to take people out silently and with a minimum of force where necessary. Not so his wife. Why punch someone with a fist when you can pulverise them with a car or better yet an armoured car ? Indeed some of their foes have learned to run when Mujer Maravilla is upset because she can and will administer savage beatings and throwing people out of windows and off freeway bridges is commonplace. No-one makes time of the month jokes to her or about her anymore. When her husband facepalms about her antics she will rail at him but woe betide anyone trying to do away with them at such a time. They are aware of danger at such a time and have reacted with an unmatched ferocity against any assassins.

They understand English but are native Spanish speakers. They are also quite familiar with Brazilian Porrtugese.

Jan Nenesdotter  and Julie Crane

Jan (from Norway) and Julie (Canada) were competitors in Winter Pentathlon and fierce rivals, but also good friends. While competing at an event in Russia, they got caught in a suddenly occurring blizzard and were forced to find shelter.

The cave they found was obviously lived in, but having no choice other than to freeze to death, they ventured in. The occupant was surprised, as he had chosen a cave that mortal eyes could not see - and was amused to find they had found it by touch. General Winter was further amused to find two fit, strong and lovely ladies in his bedroom...and neither being interested in him at all!

He was also interested in how the world had changed since he had last ventured out. So he made them an offer - in exchange for some of his power, he would be able to see through their eyes and listen through their ears as he liked. They agreed.

When they returned to the world, they found they were faster and stronger than any normal human, immune to the cold and able to fire blasts of ice at will, as well as create sliding ramps for rapid movement - but only while within one kilometer of each other. Interestingly, this meant they could still compete fairly as long as they weren't both at the competition simultaneously, a proviso the international sporting boards have accepted after a long debate.

They also accepted the inevitable and got married six months before the fateful reality show.

Neither uses a "super-hero name", but the super-media have given them the title Ice+.

(I created these guys when Egyptoid did the USA 50)

Mike and Matt Lerner are brothers based out of Montana. They named themselves after the state motto Gold and Silver. Mike, Gold, has all the powers of a metallic liquid, and can conduct electricity. Matt, Silver, can change other things, transmuting them into what he needs at the moment. While there aren't that many Montana heroes around, they are among the best known thanks to their stint as reality show heroes.

It was during the Night of the Crystal Raspberry that sisters Marjorie and Gertrude Maelson debuted helping to thwart this Viridian Bat caper. They are both capable of flight and have energy powers. They were christened North and South Carolina by the press although the military code-named them B24 and B25. Technically their names are Belle Star and Belle Atrix. They prefer the recon and strafe roles rather than stand up fight. They stay behind the Mexicans who they know have more experience and teamwork. Any attempt to make either or both romantically interested in Mike or Matt meets the same success as it did in the show.

New Team: America's Best

One of the latest brainstorms was to set up a new team comprised of the best that the country had to offer from all branches of Law Enforcement. Typically what happened instead is that renegades and those who had upset their superiors were 'volunteered' for the new assignment. Your mission should you choose to accept it is to list

Which branch of Law Enforcement they come from (FBI, DEA, NSA, CIA, Texas Rangers, Coastguard, NCIS etc)

What they did or did not do to get this posting

What powers or skills they have (their should not be a team full of martial artists, energy projectors, weapons specialists, bricks etc)

There can be upto two admin personnel who may or may not be skilled

Seven members.

"Alex Coldyron is Trakker, an officer of Alpha City's Elite Pursuit Unit. He and his team hunt the most dangerous fugitives in the city following their oath-'No One Escapes Justice'."-intro to Trakker 2009-2015.

Trakker is actually Wil Manwaring an actor and stuntman who played the titular role on a popular sci-fi police procedural. A network exec had a brilliant plan to launch a new reality based series in which Trakker joins the LAPD and fights crime for real. Derided as a publicity stunt by the media and the department was accused of just doing it for the promised funding from the network. Trakker took the job seriously however and the network also provided him with advanced body armor, a prototype stun gun/projectile launcher and high tech visor that provides enhanced vision and tracking tech and also records his pov for the show. When America's Best was formed the LAPD took the opportunity to send this public relations circus to them and the network was more than happy to have Trakker join the group.

Cowboy used to be Chad Vellasquez, a technical analyst and ELINT (electronic intelligence) specialist for the National Security Agency. Chad was sent to central Africa to repair a malfunctioning autonomous listening post, but while there, was involved in an attempt to kill everyone in the US embassy with an untested bioweapon. The bioweapon gave Chad superhuman speed and accuracy, as well as significant durability, powers he used to out-shoot an entire platoon of enemy soldiers, round up the terrorists who tried to kill him and save the embassy. The entire episode was a great success and brought the NSA great fame and the spotlight of the world press.

The NSA HATES being in the spotlight.

Now Chad  - Cowboy, as he's come to be called - has been put forward for America's Best, in the hopes that the press will follow the wunderkind and the NSA can get back to the all-concealing shadows. Chad is miffed - he'd probably be a major asset, with both his shooting prowess and his electronics skills, but he really doesn't want to be here!

Don Sorning was a capable FBI agent investigating a drug ring making some new exotic drug that was becoming popular.  During a routine raid, he got knocked into one of the many vats of chemicals.  Somehow it reacted badly with his body chemistry and he was taken to a high tech hospital.  Weeks later he came out of his coma revenously hungry and wondering why everything look SO big.  Turns out he had shrunk and his metabolism had become super charged.  His movement speed and reaction time are now superhuman, but he is stuck at 25 cm tall and has a massive appetite for his size to fuel his abilities.  Some AD&D nut gave him the code name Quickling.

He actually asked to be posted to America's Best.  He figures it needs an experienced investigator (which he is), with some connections in law enforcement (ditto) and he will escape the stares he gets from his collegues.  Basically he's a 25 cm superfast MIB.  (Yes he wears a suit as his costume)!

Tank Murdoch

Henry Murdoch was a member of the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms who suffered an unusual injury during a raid. Barrels of an experimental alcohol exploded covering him. He ended up turning green. Tank green and he also ended up looking metallic. He also ended up with brick powers. This was an asset to his colleagues but one of his superiors loathed superheroes so when America's Best started he was shunted into the organisation. On one of the raids he was publicly identified and picked up the nickname Tank Murdoch which originally came from one of the Clint Eastwood movies. Henry is a little bit uncomfortable with the idea of the team as he is used to working with his ATF colleagues.

In a world with super villains and super-criminals, the Department of the Treasury has to make certain allowances. Most of the department works to keep itself free of powered individuals, but the Internal Affairs division makes an exception. For one thing, the rest of the Treasury hates IA already and can't hate them more if they've got mutants or freak-weirdos working in their ranks. For another, a world with mind-controllers, shapeshifters, and so much else represents a real threat to the integrity of law enforcement, the treasury, and the mint. One of their top agents was Inquest, a man or woman with the ability to fully imitate the shape, voice, mannerisms and memories of another person by touch. On their watch, the Department managed not to lose any information to moles, super-spies or villains for years. The perfect infiltrator, the perfect bug-hunter, Inquest was effective enough to find any sign of any impropriety. Eventually, the heads of the Department started asking "what if I've got something to hide that I don't even know about?", and Inquest was quickly reassigned to a dead-end job full of showboats, screw-ups, and anti-social types. The mutant known as Inquest is stand-offish with the rest of the team, treating this assignment like an unearned punishment, and barely even speaks to the rest of America's Best outside of fieldwork. This arrogance and stuffy demeanor make this agent a frequent target of scorn, pranks, and resentment from the rest of the team.

NCIS investigates crimes against naval and marine interests. One of its part time assets is Gail Harper. Gail is used for recoveries at sea because of her unique ability to merge and control any water she touches. Gail was asked to join America's Best in case the Navy/Marines needed the team to help out as expendable assets in edge cases that NCIS should not be touching.

Someone has to hold down a desk, right? Sure, the cool parts of law enforcement take place on the street, in the field, and America's Best has its fair share of gunfights-while-hanging-off-a-helicopter, but someone has to make sure the paperwork clears, jurisdictions are settled, parts are requisitioned, reports from forensics are filed, funding is allocated and case files are kept up-to-date. That someone is Edith Salter, and within their team she is sometimes called by her callsign of Warrant. She takes care of all the paper-work side of the business, and has time to make coffee for the office besides. And all the action-hero geniuses of the team are so fixated on fieldwork and training that they have never realized how incredibly odd that is. Before she was Edith Salter, there was Madeline Plakhotnikova, a reality warper with a low-key ability: anything she wrote or typed became true, but only on paper. She could not write down "Captain Trouble is dead" and have him struck dead, but if she did so then somewhere out there, there would be a death warrant for that person. Captain Trouble's credit cards would be canceled and his funeral would be scheduled, causing no end of trouble. Whatever she wrote in a document, every other document would agree with it. Madeline made herself scandalously wealthy, did away with her enemies, and got away with it all. Then she changed her name, changed her history, moved into a brownstone walkup, and began inventing a superhero team of law-enforcement misfits that could do what she could not. She put on a pot of coffee and started scheming.

... and that's seven? Do I propose the next team?

Most superpowers who reach truly lofty heights of wealth are villains, stealing and exploiting their abilities to enrich themselves. Most, but not all. The members of Virtue Capital are individually billionaires and collectively they are the board of directors of a series of shell corporations that have interests in almost every industry in almost every developed nation. There are six members, not including followers, bodyguards, assistants, support staff and other assets. They use their money and leverage to do good in the world, but as often as necessary they take a hands-on approach to crime-fighting on a scale that most hero teams will never reach.

Derek Vickringhamsingh inherited wealth, but made the most of what he received. He combined his father's second hand vehicle business with his uncle's junkyard and metal recovery, and started a sideline in customised mechanical equipment - everything from printing presses to drilling rigs. His own skill with heavy machinery and engineering stood him in good stead, as did his insistence on paying reasonable wages and benefits, even if it did reduce overall profits. He still owned 60% of the company stock, so the board could whine all it liked.

By the time he was 35, Derek was a multi-billionaire. It was then he was approached by Virtue Capital. They've helped him buy in all of his outstanding stock and take his company,  Mountain Steel, private; in exchange, he has devoted his considerable genius to aiding the rest of the group with engineering challenges. And when it comes time to take down the bad guys, they appreciate the armoured superstrength of Heavy Metal backing their plays.

Tab Nichols was your typical average trust fund kid. His father, Brad Nichols, was an industrialist and go-getter whose elder son, Paul,  was going to inherit the company and his older daughter, Cecilia, would be marrying another captain of industry. Tab and his younger siblings were going nowhere but with the money they had, who cared ?

Fate had other ideas. Tab was brought along to a presentation with his father and elder siblings at one of the company's plants when a major battle broke out between heroes and several different sets of villains. Brad and Paul were killed while Cecilia was kidnapped. Her body was eventually recovered. Other members of Nichols company were killed or were seriously injured. The State governor survived a kidnapping attempt as heroes were able to thwart the villains despite injuries. Tad saw close up what heroes went through but he also saw people die and people get seriously hurt and he could do nothing. That changed him.

Tab spent the next two years in relative anonymity as the company survived being taken over, broken up or split apart. Tab then reordered and rationalised the company as the new head. It is now more eco-friendly and more humane than some of its corporate competitors. Tab has also provided help to all those that were hurt in the attack which has made heroes look kindly on what the company is doing. All the while Tab has provided medical help and some manufacturing capability to heroes who need it. Perhaps as a result Tab came across information that maybe he was not supposed to. Specifically The Corruption, The Dreamstealers, Infernal Affairs amongst others. That made him a bit more wary. He wanted to help fight crime but recalled what happened when his father and brother died. And he would never attain the physical perfection. powers and skill sets that heroes possess. But you could mimic them. That's where Nanobot Prime came in. Based around one of Servo Savant's old designs it can be remotely controlled which is what Tab does. Surprising it is hack proof and cannot be taken over by robots like Mechanon. It is not the strongest or most durable bot but the fact it cannot be subverted makes it very useful.

When Jeanetta Theodore developed powers of precognition she was a technician in a particle-acceleration lab. Some last-minute adjustments had needed to be made, and she was not behind all the proper shielding when the neutral-terrene matter flashed. All of time opened up before her, and the first thing she knew was that she was going to need a secret identity to accomplish all her goals. So she finished her shift, clocked out, handed in her resignation and created the mask and name of Ultimatum. She dabbled in some street crime-fighting by night, using her ability to foresee every threat and produce countermeasures, from stun grenades to a well-placed taser. By day she was a vicious day-trader, who built a fortune not by finding winners but by short-selling the business fronts of various villains and criminal organizations like VIPER. The short-sales made her a millionaire, then a multi-millionaire, and eventually a billionaire, while driving down the stock prices of those business fronts and cutting the profit margins of villains she had never met. If anyone ever did a full accounting, she had probably done more damage to Doctor Destroyer's schemes than any hero alive. And as her funding has increased, her gadget pool has moved from self-defense tools to super-science weapons. In combat she is untouchable, unflappable, and unpredictable. When she received the invitation to the Virtue Capitalists, she already had a briefcase packed and a list of investments for the common fund.

When Technocrat was finally taken down all his gadgets and equipment were confiscated, nothing was left. Or that was what the authorities thought. There were plans for all sorts of devices which had not been made or turned into a prototype. They were not with the villain when he was arrested nor in what was assumed to be all his properties. However his son had access to them and like his father he was a talented engineer. He began building devices from the plans and also developed software applications. That is how he made his money. Almost all the devices were non lethal so here was no link to the villainous mastermind. And those that did have a lethal aspect were 'found' by hero teams. Douglas Jones (as he is now known) began helping individual hero teams and vigilantes in the fights against crime  He knew about other gifted scientists and engineers who had been kidnapped or blackmailed by villainous organisations like Viper and Argent and felt if he got in with the hero community he would have help against the villains.

Douglas created an armour suit as a protection against attacks rather than something quasi-Iron man. It cannot fly but it is capable of keeping people safe from harm. It was during conversations with heroes that Douglas came up with the idea of Virtue Capital. This did not become a reality until Douglas became acquainted with Doctor Tombs. They were the brains behind the group and they began looking for other prospective candidates.

Douglas adopted the identity of The Technical Detective equipping an armour suit with all sorts of gizmos to analyse crime scenes. This has helped the police and heroes who don't have high speed access to laboratories.

Ultimatum and Doctor Tombs are the only ones who know that Douglas is related to the Technocrat and keep silent as there are those on both sides of the law who would come after him regardless.

Gervais Gauvrom, Master of the Future ! needed a son and heir. So he decided to make one. He found a genetics laboratory and selectively adapted the egg and sperm required to give the perfect specimen. The child was placed in a suitable womb and after birth was reared with the knowledge and power to rule and take over his father's empire. Gervais had already altered his own genetics so he did not age as fast as ordinary men so when he felt that his son was ready, he put him in storage. And this is when others intervened. Gervais had clashed with members of a renowned villain family and their ancestor decided that the Master of the Future ! had a comeuppance due. Instead of killing or poisoning the offspring, The Sybll arranged for a little accident which shifted the facility through time and space and resulted it being buried due to Allied bombing in World War 2. She also arranged for Gervais to be blinkered so that he would not look to his past to find his child.

It was during the 1960s that the facility was accessed again and the child came back to consciousness. And found himself with a dilemma. They had no way of contacting anyone and did not know who anyone he knew was. So how to make your way in the world when you know what is going to happen and you can do nothing about it ? The child got himself a job and began to get money which it could then invest while changing identities every now and again. It could also fight to make the world a better place which.it was inspired to do after seeing Batman in the 1960s. Over the decades, he became rich and then wealthy and was the first person Doctor Tombs and The Technical Detective sort out as a recruit.

Currently the rather obnoxious hero Master Boom is how the reclusive Graham Knowles adventures as. He knows many languages and knows how the stock market will react a good way into the future. He did not know of many fraudsters like Bernie Madoff but he did know of 9/11 which he had to let happen to preserve the timeline. He is acutely aware of the effects of changing time.

In exchange for various services rendered, the FBI and the SEC have left Knowles alone. They figure he is some sort of CIA experiment gone wrong but his help in saving lives (and reputations) has earned him a pass. Plus he pays more tax than he should.

Daddy, meanwhile, is furious that no technical advance or technology has been able to locate his progeny in any part of the universe. His dismissal of magic and time travel being a critical oversight.

For a new team something different.

The TL:DR version is this. Detail a hero involved in the Battle of Philadelphia

The Battle of Philadelphia was one of the largest sustained battles between law enforcement and supervillains. The official version that the public was told was that superheroes and the police reacted to an attack on the Jackson Industries factory complex and a major battle broke out. The truth is somewhat different and vague What is certain are the following facts

The villain Meggido led a group of villains to destroy the complex and to kill a lot of people after being slighted by the head of Jackson Industries. His confederate Hawkesmythe was a gun man who was responsible for a number of deaths during the course of the battle. This was the largest group of supervillains that numbered no more than 10.

A second group of villains had been hired to destroy the loading bay and transportation as the company was about to roll something out that somebody wanted stopped There are no more than 8 but more than 3 in this group.

A third group of three villains were in the complex attempting to grab someone in the R+D branch when the fighting started

A hero group was right on top of the action as someone had been pranking them all day and so they were in a position to help people and stop the bad guys. The villains have always believed that someone betrayed them.

SWAT and an experimental police unit were close by after conducting an exercise and so police response was much faster than anyone expected.

Other heroes turned up as they were tailing the villains.

Other villains and heroes appeared as hunted on an 8, 11 or 14 or less

Meggido got away.

There were a number of significant casualties i.e. executives of the company including the head and heroes and villains.

Detail one hero participant who can have any powers and be a man or woman.

Minimum 5, maximum 20.

You can name the group initially involved or another group that arrives to help.

You can name one or more of the villains that a hero was tailing or involved with, but don't get carried away as there will be a villain version as well.

The hero could get powers as a result of the battle and could be a police officer.

No-one is in the Mechanon or Dr Destroyer class

What is really going on ?  The Sophia and The Sybll have manipulated things to bring one particular person (at least) to this time and place in order that they should perish. And they were successful. It could be a villain or a hero. You tell me..

Sgt. Williams was feeling frustrated. The whole exercise had been a waste of time really. The police department had been conducting an exercise to show how they could handle supervillain attacks and incursions and it had not worked out at all well. As he gathered the troops (as he called them) into the buses and cars he and his colleagues noticed the explosions from close by and then raced to the rescue. Williams was wearing the new armoured suits from Teasdale Armstrong called Tactical Armour referred to as TATA and he and his colleagues who had been wearing it went into action when they arrived at the outskirts of Jackson Industries.

The situation was bad with all sorts of flying people firing at each other and panicked civilians running here and there. While Sgt Williams and his colleagues waded into the action, the ordinary officers began to shepherd people to safety while SWAT took up firing positions. The police followed a simple procedure. If anyone fired on a civilian or them, they were a legitimate target. This worked well in the confused circumstances as it became apparent that there were at least two different sets of supervillains flying or wandering around. Both however shot at the police which made things easier for all concerned.

Williams wandered around the complex putting himself in the way to let people escape. His version of the armour had energy projection weaponry as opposed to others which had solid projectiles. The armour also had the police markings for the city on it which did make it a better target but also drew heat away from the normal populace. This was useful when Williams stepped into the way as Hawkesmythe tried to gun down several women. As bullets bounced off the armour, the villain changed to a different form of ammunition. It damaged the armour but did not disable it and forced the gunman to retreat.

The TATA wearers entered the complex and helped people out and helped shepherd them to safety.

While.Teasdale Armstrong were disappointed by the exercise they were delighted by the performance of the armour under real conditions and how it stood up to real world damage. Consequently they have continued their support for TATA and it's use by the Philadelphia Police Force. They have also ensured that the correct support and training is available for the armour. Sgt Williams continues to operate and train people how to use the armour in the city.

Red Crescent arrived late at the scene.

He had been attending a conference on emergency management in Trenton, and only heard about the situation from the media coverage. He could fly the distance fairly quickly, but his lack of knowledge of American geography had not helped. By the time he arrived, Meggido was gone and the bulk of the fighting over. Nevertheless, he set to work immediately, using his healing touch to great effect - many lived who would not have thanks to his ministrations. There was one unfortunate incident when an "overly patriotic" cape objected to his presence, but that blow-hard was quickly silenced by some of the more cosmopolitan heroes...and the medical services.

When asked about the situation later, he simply said, "There were people in need".
