Lady Light

She appears in a flash of brilliant light and thwarts the evil of others. No-one knows where she comes from or where she goes so she she is not on teams you would expect that are bound to a specific area or duty i.e. Presidential bodyguard. Lady Light stands for truth, justice and the universal message of peace. She has not done any major interviews as in her own words 'Evil must be found and thwarted first and foremost'. She does not say where she is or what she has done between appearances and brushes off such quesions as having no real import.

Lady Light is a reflection of Gloom and comes from Gloom's dreams. Gloom puts her sudden disappearances down to 'a malign influence from beyoond the stars'. The truth is more prosaic, her subconciousness generated an alter ego who was a good version of her. Also the two do not look alike or dress alike so the chances of the one being identified as the other are practically non-existant. Gloom is a dark shade of blue and dresses in a slightly provocative style while Lady Light is Caucasian and dresses sensibly. Think Shadow Lass turning into Dream Girl.

Artie Greer didn't put it on the application, but he wanted to work for the museum to have an origin. True fiddling with radiation seemed more likely to do it, but he didn't want to run the risk of cancer. For three years he poked and prodded the items in storage. Nothing happened. Then one day the museum got a chest from China. He opened it and it was full of old coins. Disappointed again he started taking stock of the coins. One stood out because an old phrase was etched on it.

"May you live in interesteing times."

He began  fiddling with the coin  while catalouging the others. Then wile thinking about how he wanted to have an origin he flipped it. Suddenly he was transformed. He gained superstregnth, speed, and agility. He also suddenly developed a new face and deeper voice. It didn't take long to learn he could change without the coin. And Stellar was soon fighting crime on the street. TRue every so often he dosen't quite remember what he did. But he knows he was dealing with some horrible evil.

What Artie hasn't grasped is the phrase is both a blessing and a curse. And a coin has two sides. The horrible evil he confronts when he can't quite remember is his other half The Gruseome Ghoul

Sometimes when Gavrax is blown up he does not return as Gavrax but as Sunbeam. Sunbeam is an achingly beautiful figure who can sometimes not be looked at even with sunglasses as he is like a miniature sun. Other times Sunbeam will break free of Gavrax's body in a devastatingly blinding flash and explosion of energy. Then he will go on to fight villainy and team up again with Lady Light. No one has ever seen and no device has ever recorded Sunbeam erupting from Gavrax's body. And it is unclear whether Sunbeam is a prisoner of Gavrax or the other way around. Nor is it clear if there is some sort of symbiotic relationship between the two.

That is the minimum but unless Dr Dunstan is the leader we don't have a boss for the team.

Dr. Dunstan has his hands full with his quest for which is stronger, good or evil. In another universe, he has 17 'mechanical children', seven repersenting each deadly sin seven repersenting each anti-sin. One repersenting the ultimate good (Ultimo), another repersenting the ultimate evil (Vice), and one repersenting true nutrality. As for leadership, lets say it is up to a vote.

Now is the time for Aqua Teen Force !

This is the latest idea y the people who brought you Teen America, Hot Young Teens and Teen Force America. This is a group of teenagers whose powers are either river, lake, sea or Ocean based or who operate on water. Thin of the merchandising opportunities ! Well the sponsors certainly do. And if this works well Space Teen Force or Teen Force Earth or Sky Teen Force are all possibilities. We'll go to a minimum of 5.

Optional. You can say whether the 'hero' is in it for the money or is genuine and concerned about the sponsors.

Optional. You can specify if they fought a villain from the Create Villain list. A link will be posted. (Marine Marauders)

http://www.herogames.com/forums/topic/74339-create-a-villain-theme-team/?p=1955478

If you link to another villain let us know who. Or make up a new one.

Cowabunga

The ability to turn his feet into large surfboard like shapes, even ones that were bulletproof, wasn't much use on dry land. Fortunatly Sammy "Sea dude" Sanders much prefered surfing It wasn't until he tried stopping a high seas pirate that he discovered that he could change his hands simalrly turning them into battering rams. So when Aqua Teen Force asked him to surf and pay him for it, all he coued say was Cowabunga dude. And that was entered on the form as his name.

Squid Nelson

He does not talk much, well when you look like a Squid-man hybrid then you don't. But boy can he swim ! And he can get to depths. People are terrified of him but only when he is on his own. He has clashed with Teen Tempest because his powers stirs the water up and that can include what is beneath i.e. him. But the sponsors consider him a godsend because of the merchandising opportunities a toy version gives them while Teen Tempest and Cowabunga are ideal poster boys. He has been trained with frogmen to defuse underwater munitions. He is also heavily involved in ecology groups. Don't get him started on Deepwater Horizon though.

He does have a particular problem with The Marine Marauders but won't discuss the matter.

The sponsors think we have four guys. We need to make the team more appealing, so bring on the girls.

Teen Lifeguard is the identity that Haley Leigh has been saddled with. Her costume is the standard red swimsuit popularised on Baywatch. Haley can swim faster than any normal human which means that Olympic sports etc are banned to her. She can dive deeper as well though not as deep as Squid can. She has enhanced strength and endurance but not to real brick levels so it can be a surprise when she lays someone out. She is supportive of the others but won't date them as she claims 'it would be unfair to Squid Nelson'. She got her powers after one of the Jocks at her school put a weight in her bag and threw her into the swimming pool. Several hours later she got out of the pool. He got a suspended prison sentence.

That's five but I think we need another woman member to really sell the group.

Lady Gorgon

Once known as Teen Gorgon this is her adult ID. People are so prejudiced just because you can petrify them. Fortunately now, Lady Gorgon can unpetrify them. The tiny snag is she has to be the one who did it. If a basilisk or another Gorgon does it then fat chance ! She is the group's medic and comes complete with bandages and anti-venom as her snakes have been known to posion someone who stupidly grabs her by the hair. She knows a little magic which can help the others but sh is no mage.

The product of some forgotten mentalist's nightmare, some how made real; Horror doesn't know much beyond his origin, and is having a difficult time accepting and adapting to the "real world" (which he is not even sure is real, he thinks he might be caught in a nightmare himself).  He has a power to shift people mentally into the Nightmare dimension (this is a constant power, which if he turns it off, they come back, though they usually have had terrible affects of being in the Nightmare dimension).  He has difficulty controlling this power, often loses control of it, and can't figure out why exactly (it's as if it's always on, and he has to suppress it).  He is mostly incorporeal, and not even sure he's "real" in our world.  His power has a huge area of effect centered on him, and while he can keep team members and by-standers out of it, he often wonders why he does so, as to him, they are actually "going home", and he only wishes he could send himself there...

He has no malice however, and the fear his power causes others disquiets him, so he reached out to the team for assistance in learning to control his power, and to help him adjust to this world.  It has been a struggle.

He really wants to do good, but has difficulty understanding what our definition of "good" is, and is conflicted by the reaction to his power...

Hunter seems an odd choice to lead the Monster Patrol. A perfectly normal human with nonleathal capture equipment most people think he's caught the other members and is focing them to help him hunt others of their kind while fighting crime. Thats sort of correct.

Greg Micheals was a handsome wealthy brilliant inventor who wanted to be superhuman. Instead his experiment turned him into a blob monster who for six months near mindlessly proweed the sewers attaking any hero or villian who wandered down there. Fortunatly his girlfriend and the head of the project finally managed to capture him and transform him back to nornal sort of. He found he could still absorb damage to an inhuman, and while not as well as when he was a blob, he could extend various parts of his body. No longer interested in being superhuman Grag redeicated his life to helping people like him who had been transformed.

Building his arsenal he targeted the newley renamed Lady Gorgon. He was quite surprised at how upset she was that he thought she wanted to be changed. After several arguments they finally set aside their differences and agreed. He'd help her fight crime, and is they ran into any reature that wanted to be reeturned to human she'd help catch it.  Soon they ran into Dust and Nightmare, and realized they had a team.

I lke the idea that he thought she might want to be normal.

Gloria the Good

Every good non-human team needs a Vampire. And Gloria is it. She can do the traditional Vampire things, like assume Bat. Rat and Wolf form, fly, use of charm/mind control and dissippate into mist or fog. And can take the sort of punishment that would kill the normal military platoon. But she needs to drink blood and that can be a problem. Her 'undead' nature makes her immune to mind control effect and illusiary effects and telepathy. She is also 'immune' to undead powers like a Lich summoning but she will be aware of it like a siren call. Unlike the classic vampire Gloria can go about in daylight although she cannot make use of most of her powers. What is odd is that no-one seems to know how Gloria became a vampire. There is no trace of a sire and sorcerous means have failed to provide an answer. Gloria works with the others under certain conditions such as no use of fire on her, no testing the stake through the heart business, no decapitations, no garlic bread in restaurants, no testing running water on her, no testing whether she needs to sleep in earth and no mocking Keanu Reeves in Bram Stoker's Dracula. She has also refused to be turned back into normal saying she can do more good as she is.

Most people think Troll'r is the Monster Patrol's "dumb muscle" but this is only half right.  He is big, strong, and tough (including a regeneration ability which helps keep him going in combat).  However, he's also a pretty smart tech head (though not as brilliant as Hunter), specializing in computer hacking.  Unfortunately, Troll'r isn't very socially mature; he gets his hero name from his preference for trolling online discussions, and has been petrified by Lady Gorgon a time or two for making rude or sexist comments.

New Team:  The Bookwyrms

These five members of the local book club all got their powers when one of their number found a mystic tome on a bookstore shelf and read part of it aloud.  Since each person's powers seem to be related to his or her favorite book, they decided to give themselves names linked to those books.  (Note that the Campaign City Book Club members have very diverse literary tastes, sometimes coming near to blows over which book they'll read next.  So don't feel a need to stick to classics.)

Felix, is your standard nuclear-powered exoskeleton wearing soldier of the future, fighting Insectoid Aliens across the cosmos; right out of John Steakley's novel Armor.

The consummate soldier, Felix is a survivor, from the character in the book, his is impossible to kill.  His armor is an extension of the machine that is really in Felix's head and heart, which makes him an unstoppable killing machine.

With a extremely high willpower (EGO), and combat luck to an impossible level, nothing can ever finish Felix; he always finds a way to survive and win in the end.

"He's the best of us. The best of our best, the best that each of us will ever build or ever love. So pray for this Guardian of our growth and choose him well, for if he be not truly blest, then our designs are surely frivolous and our future but a tragic waste of hope. Bless our best and adore for he doth bear our measure to the Cosmos." - John Steakley, Armor, p. 62

"Bullies don't want to fight you. They don't want to fight at all. They simply want to beat you up." - Armor, re-used in Vampire$.

"He manages to survive, not through an inherent craving for life, but through a stubborn refusal of death." - Armor

"You are
What you do
When it counts"
-The Masao (from the novel, Armor)
