He migrates from the temple across India and the Middle East to Africa and back again so he has been sighted in various places in that part of the world.

The Jade Water likes to frequent rivers and lakes, sailing across them. His style copies the movement of water so that he expands to fill any space so his enemies are pushed back from him.

Tìdāo is the talk of New Yorks fashion world an expert stylist, designer, and hair dresser his showy flowing razor cutting style is a treat to the eyes his demonstrations are a hotter ticket than Hamilton and private consultations are booked 2 years out. Of course Tìdāo is a wandering member of the jade temple he much prefers the outer world shaved heads and robes are just sooo boring.

 

Tìdāo combines jade razor and jade cloth a flowing beautiful style defense provided by swirling silk entangling binding and blocking and slashing straight blade razors delivering cuts with precision to tendons joints and weapon hands.

Bojan was a Macedonian archeologist who had hoped to find a clue to the tomb of Alexander. He tracked down a large party Basil II had sent into the mountains on a mysterious mission. They had been there for a year, and the few documents related to the expedition had several references to Alexander. Bojan had little hope of discovering the tomb itself, but he thought perhaps they Basil had found some clue to it's location.

 

Bojan's excavations found no clue to where the Tomb might be buried, but in a hollowed out section of a mountain behind several traps he foud a jewel placed on an alter. Picking it up he found himself transformed. He had gained superstrength, speed, and agility. Oddly he had also suddenly become a master swordsman and tactician. That's when he made a decision. Though Macedonia has yet to formally join NATO, Bojan applied for membership in the Nato Meta Ops. While there was much discussion about it, they decided to allow him to join the team as Alexander.

Hercule is the hero of Belgium. Everyone thinks with a name like that, he is superstrong. He is, only mentally. Hercule is a master psionic capable of adding other psychics' powers to his own to increase his formidable ability.

Mountain King

 

From Norway comes Mountain King. During an attempt by Russians to invade Norway and covertly control it during the Cold War, their soldiers stumbled on something that even the Germans had missed during World War II. An underground kingdom run by Trolls. The Russians being rational communists did not believe in such things and suffered accordingly. A local man found the underground and managed to negotiate with the Trolls. In return for keeping the existence of the Kingdom quiet, the disappearance of the Russians and his own life, the local man agreed to father a child with the Trolls who would then be their eyes and ears in the outside world. This son went on to become Mountain King. He morphs from a normal man into a large humanoid rock that looks like something out of the sagas. His induction into the NATO team became a forgone conclusion and he has remained its current longest serving member

Juraj Jánošík

 

Juro for short is the alias used by the Slovakian member of Meta Ops taking his name from the legendary 17th century highwayman. Juraj Jánošík was the Slovakian equivalent of Robin Hood inspiring revolutionaries and rebels for years.

 

He claims he got his powers from a pair of 7 League boots, a magic belt (allegedly gifted by fairies) and a pouch of strange herbs recovered from a secret stash belonging to the original.

 

Juro fills a number of roles his skills as a theif and spy make him an expert at intrusions and silent take downs, he also acts as team medic his Pouch of herbs can heal almost any wound.

 

He is armed with a hatchet that he is an expert at throwing to stun or take out cameras etc and a blaster pistol modified to look like a black powder flintlock.

 

While he is a official government agent over recent years there have been a surprising series of crimes across Europe where corrupt officials con men and drug kingpins are robbed their assets stolen and given to charity while evidence of their crimes go to the police.

From Italy comes the tactician Aurelius. A diplomat with a knowledge of various languages, Aurelius directs the team in combat and is the current peacemaker and leader of the team. He has an intuitive knowledge of the best tactic to use in any given situation where the team are involved.

 

New Team: From Russia With Lob

Ivan Lobyanov set up a team of Russians to defend his country but also to protect the world from it where necessary. The team is not on good terms with the government but are liked by the people as they come from them.

A maximum of seven members and a minimum of four. Should have some language skills other than French, Spanish or English. Chinese, Mongolian or Japanese would be good.

The Shepherder is from the East. He knows things that men shouldn't know, see things that men shouldn't see, can do things that men can't do. and his flock of sheep are a lot more intelligent than they should be.

The Mongol

 

The Mongol is one of the most unusual duplicators as he can create a horde of Mongols on horseback and as long as one of them lives, he exists. It dismayed his opponents no end when they targeted the 'prime' or 'root' copy and he would not die. He also annoys scientists as he breaks the conservation of energy law by bringing men and horses from nowhere and dismissing them. He is skilled in riding, brawling, swordplay and blacksmithing.

He also enjoys terrifying people by reminding them of Genghis Khan and having a horde of Mongol warriors ride across the plains. Or a park in downtown Moscow. He is Russian but looks looks like a Mongol.

Volga

 

This woman is half Chinese and half Russian. She rarely speaks and often blasts people with jets of water. She can fly only over water and along stretches of water. A pond or a stream would not let her fly but a river or a lake would. She lets the others take the lead and direct her as her temper can get the better of her. She has a real passion for anyone desecrating the river she is named after or the Caspian sea but she has also gone after people who have polluted the Danube.

Prince Ivan is an armored knight of the people. He is accompanied by a firebird who acts as his counselor. His spirit sword only hurts evil. His shield blocks all but the most powerful attacks.

 

Some say he is some kind of robot, because he has been beaten but he always returns to the fight. He might be as immortal as Koschei.

Stepanya kopeĭka has had many names and played many roles over his long life. But to understand him it is important to know just one thing is above all he is a survivor.

 

born in Stalingrad during the great depression he should have starved.

 

when he was 6 he should have died from the polio he contracted that cost him the use of his right leg.

 

The battle of Stalingrad should have killed him it certainly took his family.

 

He survived by developing a nack for the art of the body trap and ambush the red army took him under their wing calling him the little spider for his intricate Web of traps diversions and ambushes.

 

 

 

His gift for strategy helped his unit survive and prosper in the bitter house to house and room to room combat.

 

With no family left after the nazis where driven out he followed the red army as it drove out the nazis and started the conquest of Germany though he would have been prevented from service by his illness a tank unit took him along as a mascot and dog's body.

 

again his gift for spotting and planning ambushes and traps would help his unit survive now he was the little general.

 

During the bitter fighting for Berlin a people's commissar came to his unit and asked for his help a special unit was clearing out Nazis bunkers to acquire technology for the motherland.

 

He became the canary helping find secret entrances and avoid the lethal booby traps that filled these locations.

 

It was during one of these investigations that his life would change for ever they found the device deep in the back of one of the most heavily defended science bunkers.

 

The commissar called for a volunteer and Stepanya was it the scientists said it was a machine to make super soldiers they loaded Stepanya in an started the process but they missed the booby trap built into the machine unauthorised use triggered a huge incendiary charge burning the lab and destroying all the equipment and notes.

 

Stepanya survived inside the machine and while the lab was being destroyed his body was being enhanced his polio ravaged limbs where fixed his muscles and nerves enhanced his skin and immune system toughened. When the process completed he was released out into a apocalyptic inferno at first he thought everyone on his team was dead but his newly enhanced hearing weak breathing from beneath a heavy steel table he was amazed as he flung it across the room revealing the smouldering broken body of the commissar.

 

He carried the badly wounded commissar from the bunker and they where both rushed back to Moscow. for the next year he was known as "the subject".

 

It was a long chronicle of pain as the scientists tried to work out what the hell the device had done to him. Eventually nothing short of vivisection was going to reveal anything else it could have ended that way but one day a familiar face turned up at the lab it was the commissar the two had switched places the young fit commissar was now only able to walk with a cane his right hand and right side of his face a waxy mass of scar tissue and his once sentorian voice a horse whisper.

 

He offered Stepanya a position with the KGB again Stepanya got a new name Aktiv 15 he trained with spetznatz and diplomats learnt cryptography and comportment sniping and seduction and at the end of a year of intense training he would become one of The KGB's top agents operating around the world like a ghost the cia called him the RED SHADOW. Once more his gift for traps ambushes and daring escapes would make him a legend. I the KGB sent him to test Western superheroes and villains alike in preparation for the cold war going hot he stole bio samples and tech created elaborate trapped gauntlets to test abilities so that an invading Soviet force could counter. Throughout the 50s 60s and 70s

 

(perhaps most notably when he distracted the most powerful supers in the south west on November 22nd 1963 keeping them away from Dallas and preventing them from saving JFK)

 

he was the western agents boogie man but by 1970 he was starting to grow tired and jaded. He tried to drown his misery in cheap vodka only to discover the process had enhanced his bodies ability to remove toxins and he would sober in minutes.

 

In the late 70s the party wanted propaganda figures and seconded him from the KGB to a national super team he was team leader for a while his gift for tactics giving the team it's edge when it encountered non conventional threats. It was perhaps the best time of his life.

 

That was until the team where all killed during an alien invasion

 

Stepanya was also badly injured and spent almost 2 years recovering his full strength just in time for him to be sent off to the beginning of the invasion of Afghanistan again he was a feared ghost a legendary figure the Mujahideen called him ALMAT AL'AHMAR or the RED DEATH. The Soviet forces called him Comrade Russia. I the fighting was brutal and inhuman atrocities where committed by both sides. I Stepanya broke down after he discovered a village he had befriended massacred to the last child. He hunted down the spetznatz death squads responsible and took his revenge. He was arrested going meekly as the enormity of what he had done sunk in. I there was no trial his sins where covered up and he was dumped in the most remote and deadly Gulag in siberia. I initially he was near catatonic the gulag housed the worst of the worst the first mafiya tough man who tried to put him in his place never regained use of his right arm.

 

He was a silent brooding presence they called him "Nemoy " The Mute he was a silent brooding presence in the camp. Then one day he was gone he just walked out of the camp everyone thought he would die killed by the terrible environment or the ferocious wildlife.

 

Every so often some one would be rescued by a ragged silent man with formidable skill and strength. state security and police forces assembled a file on the mysterious Strannik the wanderer reports showed a general line of sightings and incidents in a winding trail running direct from Siberia to Moscow.

 

Eventually after years in the wilderness Stepanya arrived back in Moscow to find the world he left was gone the communist regime had collapsed. Stepanya was just another ex soldier working any job.

 

His mind had recovered in his long exile he tried to redeem himself protecting the weak and defenseless in this e-mail or chaotic period.

 

Then someone he never thought he would see again the commissar now in his eighties confined to a wheelchair he had been ousted from the KGBs replacements by young up and comers but had used his influence to get rich now controlled a legitimate financial Empire as well as a criminal one.

 

The Commissar blackmailed Stepanya into working for him with threats of passing on his details to the government for him to be vivisected. He became Molot the Hammer welding a sledge hammer made of some strange unbreakable golden metal.

 

he was the commissars unwilling enforcer for several years until Ivan Lobyanov broke up his network finally free of his old master Stepanya joined the team and is now devoted to redeeming 70 years of sins. After having many names and costumes over the years. he now uses his own name and wears no costume just normal clothes he still carry his golden hammer and wears a army surplus gun belt loaded with non lethal grenades and mines. He is still am expert tactician and is very skilled at finding enemies weaknesses and luring them into traps and friendly fire incidents.
