Spider-Man: You know what? Yeah. I kinda do. Happy now? What kinda laws are there for a guy who can throw cars, and leap over buildings and save thousands of people but needs to wear a mask to keep his loved ones safe? This whole deal? There's no rulebook. Look, I get it. You "swore an oath." Well so did I. So did all of us. Sometimes we mess up, like your previous punching bag Daredevil! But guess what? We solve it. Daredevil messed up, and I made sure he went away to get his head on straight. He may never come back, but I sure as hell won't let him rot in a prison under "Mayor Fisk." He's a hero. Detective North: So a guy in a mask can jump a little higher, punch a little harder, and he's getting away with murder? Who's making that call? Spider-Man: Don't slippery slope the guy who can stick to walls, you know what I'm saying. You need to stop thinking about "legal" and "illegal" and start thinking about "right" and "wrong." We've been up here an hour. You know what happens at the hour mark? My webbing dissolves. So you've got a choice to make... do you want to save lives? Or "uphold the law"? Ragitsu Posted May 17, 2020 Author Report Share Posted May 17, 2020 Additionally, aside from some (feigned) confusion, MacLeod hardly behaves like most people do when brought in for questioning that pertains to a serious charge; he doesn't make any effort to appear nervous or otherwise troubled. In fact, he is in control and unabashedly confrontational with the junior officer. Either Connor is ignorant of the fundamentals of social interaction...or he just doesn't care (I lean towards the latter explanation). Anyhow, I still prefer to think that most of the cop's instinct picked up on the fact that Connor is this inhuman being which has lived far beyond that which is natural. Unfortunately for him, this sense is only able to inform him in the faintest of whispers that "Something is wrong here.". P.S. When you say "killers", are you using the term in a neutral capacity or in a more nefarious/malevolent context? She is dead set on executing revenge against someone; she in fact intends to kill the transgressor. In addition to committing herself to rigorous martial training to ensure she is up to the challenge (note the sword), she decides to fashion a disguise by cutting her hair (whether most or all of it is removed, I cannot recall) and donning a mask.
