Balance is peace. Without the Sith, there is peace and no wars. Its really that simple.

Ignore everyone else. The movies clearly state that Bring Balance to the Force means Bringing Peace or Ending all the Wars. The Chosen One was meant to bring balance, aka peace. And the Force is not neutral. The Force actively influences the world, using its will to guide the Jedi. It is alive and sentient, as the movies explain repeatedly, connected to everything and everyone. The Dark Side of the Force is not the same as the Light Side. It has a different set of powers and uses. The Dark Side is also alive and has a malevolent will. It is corrupting and leads you down the path of darkness and, eventually, self destruction. Jedi only turn evil and become Sith when they give in to base emotions: fear, hate, anger. That's why Jedi focus on controlling their emotions so that they do not "fall". And there can be no Grey Jedi. A Jedi is the term used for a Force sensitive aligned with the Light Side, so if someone also uses the Dark Side then they are no longer a Jedi, therefore a "Grey Jedi" is a paradox. It does not exist. Just call yourself Grey. And the Dark Side is seductive and addictive, so a Grey would eventually go crazy and turn evil anyway.

The background has some thatched cottages, possibly built into the side of a hill? The angle is pretty steep, like they're being looked down on from on top of the next hill over. There's also a cute bit of equipment - pen and inkwell, map, coinage, a nice little pack with a fox design, a bid with the same design, and a kettle and cup with water and frog designs. They're moderately adorable.

Another quote from the The Crystal Shard, describing Regis. The intro text tries to have its cake and eat it too (a perfectly good halfling sentiment), with pastoral and nomadic halflings both getting a mention.

So, halflings are Small and Practical, Kind and Curious, tend to Blend Into the Crowd, delight in Pastoral Pleasures, and are all about Exploring Opportunities.

3 foot tall, inclined to be stout ("I see no objection to stoutness, in moderation.") Light skinned (odd, given the variety in elves and dwarves), wavy or straight brown hair, brown or hazel eyes. I.E., as nondescript as possible. Men often have sideburns, but beards and mustaches are very rare. Simple, brightly-coloured and practical clothing. They're straightforward, and have little patience for dithering. Tell that to my PCs; they happily dithered about the Shire for a long while.

They're affable, cheerful, motivated by family, friendship, and curiosity. They pity easily, and hate to see living things suffer. They're also unassuming, and naturally stealthy, which makes them fit in well. Halflings can be ferocious when what they love is threatened. They tend to live in small farming communities, led by family elders. However, they commonly live among other folks, where they work hard and are very loyal. Alternately, they travel in wagon trains or boats. Adventuring is less of a career, and more something that halflings are forced into, or pursue opportunistically.

There's another sidebar of relations, titled "Affable and Positive." They get on with everyone, and don't like to make generalizations, especially negative ones. That said, they do have polite suggestions. Dwarves are loyal and honest, but should smile more. Halflings, like everyone else, have the hots for elves. But they're a little to enigmatic and guarded. Humans - they get on fine with the commoners, but the aristos and soldiers... well, "you have to admire their conviction" which is usually code for 'these people scare the living daylights out of me, but at least they're not aimed at me.'

Time for names - oddly enough, none of the male names are familiar as halfling names. I mean, Perrin, as a potential shortening of Peregrin, but otherwise, not really. The only recognizable one is Lidda, actually. Though between Alton, Cade, Garret, Lyle, Perrin, Wellby, Bree, Callie, Cora, and Lavinia, I recognize quite a few non-halflings.
