What's your favorite Hero Designer Export format?

I've just found a couple of issues with this export.

1. The OCV Penalty for performing a Move Through is listed as -v/5 when it should be -v/10 since 6e changed from "Inches" to meters of movement.

2. The bonuses from the Enhanced Perception Power is not reflected in the Characteristic Block as a secondary roll (15-) in the case of Clark Kent.

Hey guy and Gals!

Sorry I hadn't made a forum account before. I'm super glad that there is some interest in the export format. It certainly was a work of love.

I've updated the format files on the site with the move-through fix.

I'll have to look into the enhanced perception bonus fix. I'll see if the default exporter sums that correctly, or if I can feed that value into a calculation if I can find the proper tags.

I downloaded Tasha's fix and it broke a couple things. Namely adding the name of the Perception roll to the field where just the number value should be. So it says: "Perception Roll: Per Roll -XX".

As for the look: colors/fonts. That's a personal preference thing. If you change the font then you have to change some of the layout numbers to get everything to line-up nicely. Though I have tested it with Ariel, Tahoma, Verdana, Century Gothic and other fonts and it's not a total train-wreck to simply change the name of the font in a text editor yourself. Also you can always just hit "black and white" only in your printer preferences.

I also borrowed Tasha's naming convention by placing 6E HTML at the front of the name so it's now: 6E HTML UltimateCharacterSheet.hde

As for my version showing up on the front page; for some reason mine is buried on page 5 after all the rest if you filter by single character sheet and 6th edition.

Tasha, I'd like you to take yours down if you don't mind. Feel free to put it back if you make some radical changes to the look and function. Only because it was a fair amount of work to do and I'd like a little credit, and yours currently is a bug fix. Thanks!

I have noodled with alternate color versions and different fonts for different genres, and themes. The Ultimate one is mainly designed with Super Heroes in mind. If you guys want I can upload custom ones for fantasy, sci-fi, or whatever you dream up (my little pony adventures?). Even just campaign specific color themes if you have something special in mind.

I'd rather put out a custom series of them on demand for you all than see tonnes of partial edits out there.

thanks for checking out the formats and let me know if you find more bugs. I have couple things on my own list of things to-fix or things to-make work better.

cheers,

A better color IMHO is that blue that 6e uses everywhere in the books.

I replaced your sheet that I bug fixed with my new No point value Heroic Sheet. I have to pound on my sheet some more, but it's doing it's job well enough. Thanks for checking in and doing the bug fixes.

I would love to see one of your sheets for a Heroic Game (Serif Body font perhaps?) Bright and low contrast is harder for me to deal with now that I am getting older.

BTW you said that my Perception fix causes it to go PER Roll XX- . Do you mean that it gives no number or that you don't like the look of "Perception Roll: PER Roll 15-" If the latter is the case, just remove your "Perception Roll" text from the beginning of that section. I used the tag to get that info. There may be a better tag that returns just the number. Technically what I did to fix the sheet wasn't a new bug, just a formatting issue.

I found the tag that solves all our problems. PER_ROLL

When I looked through the tags before I had read it as PRE_ROLL and not PER_ROLL. I replaced the INT_ROLL I had with PER_ROLL on my new edit and Bob's your uncle the power adjusted total comes out with the nice formatting included.

So good ol' Clark Kent can have his properly adjusted Perception roll.

I'll place the update notes in my response to the other thread. Maybe we should merge the two convos or start a new thread to talk about the format?
