Re: The "Essay"(ESSE/UEH) Project(Warning: mature/controversial content contained her

Yes, it's been done. "Difficult to obtain" however refers to an expendable focus....which might describe a virgin now I think of it.

Might also describe "I may only perform the rite with a given person once in their lifetime." And, naturally, it applies if the person is a sacrifice and not expected to survive the ritual.

A spell can be spoiled by attempting to sacrifice a virgin, but the hero seduced her before the final scene. Bad things would then tend to happen to the sorcerer.

Rituals requiring two (or more) people would likely be part of tantric magic.

For example of powers requiring sex acts to unleash powers, the tvtropes website has an entry called "Deus Sex Machina" with tantric power examples.

One example involved a magical girl where different types of sex acts she performed unlocked different attack powers she could then use.

Re: The "Essay"(ESSE/UEH) Project(Warning: mature/controversial content contained her

I'm planning to finish the power set writeups tonight and tomorrow, and then move on to more character writeups. I plan to do writeups for a Fantasy Hero/fantasy superhero(I dunno how many points the writeups will be yet) "mini-campaign", with a harem anime-style setup(one(or a few) male heroes, multiple female heroes, mostly yearning to hook up with the central male hero), some humor, and both romantic and erotic elements. About a dozen heroes, and a few NPCs, including villains. Then on to "sexy vampire" options and variants, droids/drones/avatars, a couple more versions of the Wolf and Fox, and finally I'll finish up with about a dozen superheroic writeups. Then a very long nap. :P

For the harem anime, they seem to work best when there's a central house/dojo/temple/inn that is used as the main set. If there's going to be a harem with more than one guy, the other guys are often professional as well as romantic rivals of the central hero. Maybe there's some ancient curse or ghost that is influencing all the characters into forming the harem group.

What could be amusing is if there are inter-locking harem situations going on, with one male and one female central hero involved. Things can get really interesting as far as rivalries go that way.

For the central hero, are you going with the "jerk with a heart of gold" or the "unlucky everydude chick magnet"?

Probably the latter. An inter-locking harem concept sounds interesting, I think I could make that "work", plot-wise.

Re: The "Essay"(ESSE/UEH) Project(Warning: mature/controversial content contained her

The other thing to consider in a harem story is relative power levels. In "magical girlfriend" types of stories, like "Bewitched" or "Ah My Goddess" the guy is usually a pretty normal human, probably 25-100 points, but the girls can be quite powerful. Other types of stories, like "Ranma 1/2" or "Love Hina" variants, can have characters be on a more equal footing.

It also seems like every harem anime has certain character types that recur, the Tsundere and Yamato Nadesiko types being both pretty common.

In other words, Samantha is the character and Darrin is the DNPC.

Probably most of the characters will be fairly close in overall power, with a few who are significantly more powerful or at least built on more points. Three central male characters--a shy ranger, a swashbuckling baron, and a surprisingly goofy bishonen knight. Three central female characters--a beautiful princess, a swashbuckling baroness, and a worldly priestess. And at least a half dozen supporting characters, a female arch-villain(or two), and a convoluted storyline.

500+ Disadvantages

15 Psychological Complication: At War with spawn of the Elygium / Aesgardai (Very Common; Moderate)

10 Negative Reputation: Foul trollop who enchants and enslaves men, Infrequently (Extreme)

20 Psychological Complication: Mother (Common; Total)

Notes: Protective of all Trolls, especially own children. Will not harm pregnant females or young (even of enemies.) Will not harm anyone who has suckled at her teat. May spare those who are protecting children.

10 Physical Complication: Slow to bear; will only concieve and give birth once a century. Young will be two females or four males. (Infrequently; Slightly Impairing)

15 Distinctive Features: (Concealable - only by Sorcery; Extreme Reaction; Detectable By Commonly-Used Senses; Not Distinctive In Some Cultures)

5 Rivalry: Professional (Magicians. See "Assorted Geases"; Rival is As Powerful; Rival is (potentially) a Player Character; Seek to Outdo, Embarrass, or Humiliate Rival; Rival Unaware of Rivalry)

5 Rivalry: Professional (Bards, or anyone else willing to play the Riddle Game. See "Assorted Geases"; Rival is As Powerful; Rival is (potentially) a Player Character; Seek to Outdo, Embarrass, or Humiliate Rival; Rival Unaware of Rivalry)

5 Psychological Complication: Tries to adopt impressive mortals (Uncommon; Moderate)

20 Assorted Geases: (Infrequently; Fully Impairing)

Notes: Constrained by various taboos, such as: Hospitality: If she has shared salt, she may not attack or steal from her guest/host for three days. Note that if the other party breaks faith first, she is not bound. Contests: If there is a wager on a fair contest with rules agreed to beforehand, she must honor the terms. She is especially amenable to contests of sorcery or riddles. Note that a magical contest, unless it's a straight "Wizard's duel" until one of them is dead, unconscious, or obviously helpless, will probably have a problem in finding an impartial judge both will agree on.Third Request: She must answer any question, or grant any boon, if the same person has requested it three times on three seperate occasions. This is why she will usually kill any non-troll who is asking for the same thing twice. She MAY put conditions on the answer ("First you must answer these three questions I have for you" or "I will do that favor when you bring me the golden scale that grows between the eyes of the Wyrm of Dy Hab Low.")Pursuits: Anyone eluding her for three days running has earned their life and liberty. Oaths: She may not lie or break her word if she swears "By my paps" while holding them in her hands, or "By my mother's bones" while touching living rock that has never been cut or quarried.Others are certainly possible.

(127 points unspent)

Total Disadvantage Points: 150

Background/History: This is an ancient and powerful troll mother - less experienced ones are certainly possible, as are even more powerful examples.

Personality/Motivation: Less consumed with warfare than their male counterparts, troll mothers worry more about the preservation of their race. They often seek to "adopt" humans, either by stealing infants or enchanting exceptional adults with traits the troll mother finds admirable.

Quote: Oh, my brave hero, do not go back and fight those terrible things until you have rested and healed your wounds. Here, lay your head on my soft breast. Hm, but you do not wish to go to sleep just yet, I hope?

Powers/Tactics: A common trick is for a troll mother to seduce a brave, clever, or magically powerful man into suckling on her breast, thus making him one of her "children." Only one troll mother will usually be found in a band of trolls, and they are often found alone. Any trolls around, however, are likely to obey the mother without question and die to defend her.

Campaign Use:

Appearance: Somewhat smaller than the usual troll, but with four arms and four breasts. Even in this form, the troll mother conveys some of the majesty of a mountain, a great beast like an elephant, or a force of nature like a storm. When first met, however, she will usually be in the form of a human female, anything from a crone to a fair maiden.

40 Base Points

Total Disadvantage Points: 90

Background/History: Molly is an example of a high end "babe" from a Variable Babe Pool, specifically, one that might appear for the "Call Moll" power.

Personality/Motivation: After the "honeymoon" (the set of Tasks calculated, plus a week of "hanging around") unless the moll is re-Summoned or other steps taken (Bribery or Persuasion rolls perhaps) her loyalty may wane or she may move out of the campaign. While unlikely to "sell out" (and even less likely to sing to the cops) she may move on to some other tough guy who impressed her, either with more lavish parties or with an even darker and more dangerous reputation. Or she may get into trouble on her own initiative and end up in jail, taking it on the lam with no forwarding address, or even get killed. If the character gets really attached to a moll, there's always the option of buying her as a Follower.

Quote: Whatever you say, boss.

Powers/Tactics: While designed to hopefully survive a firefight, Molly is probably not a frontline enforcer. She can be a back up getaway driver, a distraction, or one more gun on your side in a fight. With 15 pts in Streetwise and Knowledge Skills, she may make a useful advisor.

Campaign Use: Aside from being a Summoned Babe, this character sheet could be used for a more permanent moll for crime bosses ranging from a prohibition era bootlegger to a 21st century drug lord, or even the girlfriend of certain kinds of villains in a superhero game.

Appearance: Molls are not necessarily chosen for looks (they have other things to contribute) but any given crime lord's moll is probably at least moderately attractive by whatever his personal standards are.

Re: The "Essay"(ESSE/UEH) Project(Warning: mature/controversial content contained her

Probably most of the characters will be fairly close in overall power' date=' with a few who are significantly more powerful or at least built on more points. Three central male characters--a shy ranger, a swashbuckling baron, and a surprisingly goofy bishonen knight. Three central female characters--a beautiful princess, a swashbuckling baroness, and a worldly priestess. And at least a half dozen supporting characters, a female arch-villain(or two), and a convoluted storyline.[/quote']

Are the baron and baroness siblings?

Are the baron and baroness siblings?

Not unless the baron's adoptive parents had a child of their own. He's a "high kobold"(which, translated into harem fantasy anime, probably means he's a cute lizard-boy) found as a child on a battlefield and raised by a childless aristocratic couple as their own son. He has impeccable manners and courtly etiquette, wears the finest fashionable clothes and scents, can compose and recite love poems from memory, and is a highly skilled fencer...but he's a "lizard" standing a shade under 5 feet tall, and has to work extra hard to get the attention of any fair lady of the realm. The Baronet Napoleon Salisbury du Champagne also owns an incredibly beautiful and incredibly fast horse, Secretariat, and owns a decent sized farm, where they grow chocolate and "snuff"(coca/tobacco hybrid). Needless to say, he's fairly well-off financially. He aims to woo human(and/or demi-human) women, but obviously is working against a substantial physical and cultural handicap. But he's generally in good spirits about the whole thing.

The Baroness is a work in process, but she is also a skilled fencer, and has a romantic interest in the princess(she's bisexual). It's quite possible the Baron would develop a romantic interest in her, as might the other two male characters(and such an interest might be reciprocated). The Baroness distrusts the current Queen, the Princess' aunt(and her mother's wicked twin sister), and of course disapproves of the arranged royal marriage of the Princess to a Prince of neighboring Taraqistan. She enlists the aid of some allies to intercept the royal procession through the Schwarzwald Forest(a deep vast forest between the two nations, which can take a fortnight on horseback to travel through, and a month or more on foot). Her plan is to "kidnap" the Princess away to a remote castle, where they can marry(or at least escape from her unwanted marriage). But someone else reaches the procession first...

Then again, the palindromedary worries about me all the time

I do have too much time on my hands, it seems. If I had to write up fetish powers and tentacle powers on the same day, I think I'd have to bathe in bleach and scrub myself with steel wool.

Fortunately my imagination is the most dangerous part of me. Mostly I'm fairly benign, like some forms of cancer. :P

I think probably the ranger and the princess will be the central characters, with the other four characters being the most prominent supporting cast, and then probably a half dozen to a dozen other "name" characters(that is, characters I'd bother assigning a name to), including villains. I guess most characters will skew fairly young(mid to late teens, maybe a few older characters--there's a dark elf priestess of Lolz who's probably a couple centuries old).

For the dark elf priestess, maybe give her a precocious apprentice priestess (a great-granddaughter perhaps) who falls hard for the main male character.

A lot of harem anime shows seems to have at least one motherly character that supports and tries to keep the chaos under control, and she is always a paragon of demure womamhood unless you arouse her wrath. Perhaps this group has a priestess or wizardess who watches over them?

Are any parents going to be involved?

Well, there's the Princess' mother, who is in a sort of imprisonment/exile(confined to her own castle by her wicked twin sister). The Princess' father kicked the bucket shortly after the new Queen took the throne. May or may not have been foul play. The Queen wants to cement an alliance with Taraqistan, and go to war with the forest elves and an orcish kingdom to the north(to expand her territory). Marrying off her niece would accomplish the first goal...but having her kidnapped/abducted and making it look like the orcs and/or elves did it would go further towards accomplishing the second. :eg:

Well, to be fair, they're mid-late teens, in a setting where people likely were "fooling around" in their early teens. So, uh, most/all of them? Though not all have powers, most at least have relevant talents(SA and so forth). The ranger has a "love charm" he can't seem to get rid of, which is the primary source of his irresistability(and a good reason for him to want to stay alone in the woods most of the time). The Priestess probably has a few powers, and maybe the Princess. The Baroness would just have a few talents and good interaction skill levels. The Baron just has talents and interaction skills. The bishonen(well, bishonen face on a muscular body) knight has talents and maybe one or two attraction powers.

It's not so much that the characters are virginal, as that they're awkward in one way or another. The Queen probably has a whole suite of abilities, being the sexy villainess and all that. I haven't dialed in the points yet, but probably will once I start the first writeup.
