Re: Is it too early to start the "official" gencon 2012 thread?

I am REALLY hoping to hit it this year

I believe I will have the time and cash.

Not planning on signing up for too many games...just want to go hang with my hero buds.

WHO'S WITH ME!?!?

Re: Is it too early to start the "official" gencon 2012 thread?

Here's what I'm running:

Last Action HERO: Popular science fiction and fantasy movie characters face off in a tinseltown throwdown. Who would win in a fight between Predator and Robocop? Highlander and Neo? Tron and Spock? (Thu 7P-11, 16 players)

Champions BYOB: Bring Your Own Brick: Not necessarily just bricks, but whatever character you've been dying to play. Bring two standard superhero characters. (Sat 8A-12. 16 players)

And the non-game stuff:

Christianity and Gaming Panel (Fri 2P-3:30)

Toastmasters Gamers Meeting (Fri 4P-5:30)

Christian Worship Service (Sun 9A-10)

Plus, I'll be in the dealer hall a lot.

Re: Is it too early to start the "official" gencon 2012 thread?

Here are my Gen Con events:

Thursday 8 AM -- Remarkable Wrong-Righters (Champions)

Superheroes just wanna have fun. That's the motto of the Remarkable Wrong-Righters. But as their name state, they also exist to right wrongs. But what if the wrongs are being committed by fun-loving villains who want to set things right? (8 players, 4 hours)

Friday 8 AM -- SuperSquad America: The Originals (Champions)

It's fact vs. fiction as the original SuperSquad America, the country's first superteam, comes face to face with the Great Librarian who has a knack for making literature come alive. (8 players, 4 hours)

Friday 1 PM – Saga of the Smiling Fox (Fantasy Hero)

The evil usurper Duke Duvel seeks to rediscover a powerful ancient weapon. Only the swashbuckling Smiling Fox and his band of rebels can stop the Duke from finding it and turning it on the oppressed people of Eyratha. (6 players, 4 hours)

Saturday Noon -- SuperSquad America (Champions)

When you're a member of America's premier superteam, making tough decisions is a way of life. But is SuperSquad America's newest member ready for the personal risks that such decisions may entail? (8 players, 6 hours)

Sunday 8 AM -- Friends of Justice (Pulp Hero)

It's 1936 and the World Series between the New York Yankees and the New York Giants is about to get underway. But when the Major Leagues' premier event is threatened by a shadowy danger, it's up to Dr. Abraham "Doc" Justice and his band of associates to save the day and America's National Pastime. (8 players, 4 hours)

I will be there, splitting time between the DGS Minis booth and shopping for freelance work, but I'm sure I'll have some time to hang with the Hero crowd as well. dw

Re: Is it too early to start the "official" gencon 2012 thread?

well, Lady Karma reached down and gently caressed me in a pleasant way. After futzing and fighting the hotel booking yesterday and bemoaning the massive amounts of money I'd be wasting to get walking distance...

I log in today and lo and behold my Hotel...the ONLY hotel I've stayed at for my 3 genCons...had a room available.

Snagged and Bagged. This poop is happening.

Ok. It's too late for the girlfriend and I to go this year (work, etc), but it looks like this is where I need to go to see my friends. 2013 it is.

As soon as tickets go on sale for 2013 -- or, if you already know, I'll get a calendar reminder and you're off the hook :D
