River City is a bit quackers.  There's a large rubber duck sculpture floating in the Allegheny River between the Fort Duquesne Bridge and the Roberto Clemente Sixth Street Bridge.

Sailor Mercury's civilian name is Mike Anderson.  Sailor Moon's civilian name is Serena Thomas.

 

In the series, all the heroes have a crystal inside them attuned to their planet, hurt the planet and they feel it.  Tuxedo Mask has Earth's.  It would be possible to replace Tuxedo Mask with a Sailor Earth.  Is there a character sheet out there for Tuxedo Mask?  If so, it would be a good start for a Sailor Earth character sheet.

I haven't stumbled upon one beyond the Sailor Moon RPG And Resource Book by Guardians Of Order.

 

The best thing to do is create one on your own. He has high dexterity, a martial arts which combines fencing with savate, a multipower to toss magical roses, a full on Blast ("Tuxedo La Smoking Bomber" from the manga and Crystal), a Mind Link to Sailor Moon, a vulnerability to Mind Control, and a ks about gemnology and architecture.

 

Other things to give him is a teleport and a Perfect Balance talent.

Okay, how's this?  Sailor Earth is, in her heroic form, an Olympic-level gymnast and martial artist who is equally skilled with savate and a katana.  Due to her parents' occupations, she has knowledge of gemology and architecture and has some skill with mechanical drawing.

Nice. As for powers? If your not going to do throwing roses, then build upon the "Tuxedo Bomber" attack (you might want to change it a bit, an token English name instead of token French, since Sailor Earth is female, why not "Smoking Evening Dress Bomber" (A "Smoking Jacket" is the same as a Tuxedo Jacket") or "Elegant Geo Bomber").

The Tuxedo Bomber is, according to Wikipedia, an energy blast from from Tuxedo Mask's hands.  Therefore, the Elegant Geo Bomber would be an, at least, 8d6 magma ED from Sailor Earth's hands.  She might also use roses as darts and a flash attack. In the flash attack, the roses might induce sneezing.

Since all of the sailor senshi have similar characteristics, transformations, skills, and disadvantages, creating new ones is fairly easy.  Sailor Earth's gymnastics skills are taken from an article in Power Point #16 that I printed out in June of 2001. 

 

Sailor Sun's, and Sunspell's, powers are taken from the "Solar Spell Package" in the third chapter of The Ultimate Mystic.  I chose Solar Flare (a sight group flash), Sun Bolt (an energy blast), Solar Ward (a force field), and Sunlight (a light spell).  All have an OIF.  Sailor Sun's is her tiara and Sunspell's is the ring she transforms with.  Additionally, Since Sunspell is surrounded by faerie fire in her heroic ID, some of these might change the faerie fire.

 

I also have the names of the sailor senshi.  Sailor Sun is Mike Danvers.  Sailor Mercury is Amy Anderson.  Sailor Venus is Marcia Adams.  Sailor Earth is Tracy Mitchell.  Sailor Moon isSerena Thomas.  Sailor Mars is Akiko Tanaka.  Sailor Jupiter is Leta Kline.  Naru Osaka, Sailor Moon's buddy in the original series who knows her identity and doesn't care is Nancy Martin.

Sailor Uranus probably started out racing karts before moving up, very recently, to a NASCAR regional series and spends her summers, with her family, traveling between tracks.  Her parents are involved in stock car racing.  

 

Sailor Saturn, if I read Wikipedia correctly, has health issues and has been to The Children's Hospital of River City of the Pitt Medical Center many times.  She occasionally runs into Mouseketeer Karen Parker, an outpatient who has a mild form of congenital muscular dystrophy, there.

 

Sailor Neptune has met the famed violinist Midori, and may have played in concerts with her.

What brought on the Gender switch?

I didn't want both solar-themed magical girls to have male civilian identities.

The newest edition of The Mickey Mouse Club was created after Disney built The Disney’s America theme park in southwestern Pennsylvania and is shot in the River City area.  In the current version of Spin and Marty, they are at the Circle H Ranch, which is a coed western-style summer camp.

 

Wardrobe is based on that from the 1950s series, with the ladies permitted to wear slacks.  Talent Roundup costumes are specifically from the second season of the original series.

 

The young Mouseketeers, often called mice, are a talented, multi-ethnic bunch.  The group consists of Annette (Japanese), Bobby (African-American), Charlie, Cheryl (Jewish), Cubby, Darlene, Doreen, Karen, Lonnie (Hispanic), Sharon, and Tommy.  All of them know folk songs, music, and dance related to their heritage. 

 

Karen’s often paired onscreen with the equally small, cute, and young Cubby, who, like her, is 9-years old.  She often makes mistakes on camera due to her lack of experience — a quality producers love to play up to make her relatable to fans. She and Cubby are an indelible TV “couple”.  Cubby is a skilled drummer like most members of his family while Karen is usually in a wheelchair. 

 

Sharon is almost as short as Karen and Cubby. 

 

Tommy plays the Sousaphone. 

 

Cheryl always wears skirts because, according to a TV Guide article about the show, she thinks they look more elegant. 

 

The adult Mouseketeers are Roy, a Disney staff artist, Jimmie, an actor, singer-songwriter who can play both guitar and piano and is the show’s master of ceremonies, and Kara, who portrays various characters in skits, but is in rollcall only on Fridays.  Show staffer Jody, who operates the Steadicam^®, wears a Mouseketeer outfit because she occasionally appears on camera.  

 

Sometimes the mice will do solo performances on Talent Roundup Day.  Cheryl, who covered her ears when a group sang the English version of Tzena Tzena Tzena, sang it the next week, using the original Hebrew lyrics.

 

The show is divided into three segments, the Mouseketeer segment, the Serial segment, and the Mousekartoon (sic) segment.  In the Mouseketeer segment, Monday is Fun with Music day.   Tuesday is Guest Star Day.  Wednesday is Anything Can Happen Day.  Thursday is Discovery Day.  Friday is Talent Roundup Day. 

 

Karen, Kara, and Doreen all ride horses in Spin and Marty.  Karen rides Shadow, a black Shetland pony mare.  Cora rides Tanya, a leopard appaloosa mare.  Doreen rides Dancer, a pinto Shetland pony mare.  Of the three, only Shadow appears in the rollcall for Anything Can Happen Day pulling a cart with Karen in it and on Talent Roundup Day with Karen either in the saddle or close at hand.

 

Karen also hosts a segment on Discovery Day that showcases physical therapy, which she gets, various medical tests, and visits to some doctors’ offices.  She admitted on it that she suffers from a mild form of congenital muscular dystrophy whose symptoms include leg weakness, balance problems, numbness, and fatigue, all of which make walking challenging.  She also revealed that she does yoga.

 

The Disney folks, knowing that is inevitable that the mice will appear in tabloids, have asked them to be well-mannered in public.

 

A photograph showed Karen getting on an exercise bicycle with a woman in purple scrubs standing nearby to assist.  The captain read, “Under the watchful eyes of physical therapist Jennifer Michaels, Mouseketeer Karen Parker mounts on an exercise bicycle at Children’s Hospital of River City’s physical therapy clinic.”   A second photo showed her in her Talent Roundup outfit with her arms around the neck of a small black horse and the horse’s muzzle resting on her back.  It was captioned, “Mouseketeer Karen Parker and Shadow, her Shetland pony mare, share a tender moment before a taping.”

 

A photograph taken during a gymnastics meet showed two gymnasts, one at the vault and the other nearby.  The caption read, “With a teammate nearby, Mouseketeer and gymnast Sharon Martin sets herself for the vault.”

 

A photograph showed Cheryl posing with a group of fans.  The caption read, “Mouseketeer Cheryl Harris with fans at Children’s Hospital of River City.  A second photo showed her and another girl standing in a classroom holding shofars.  The caption read, “Monica Danvers and Mouseketeer Cheryl Harris are learning to sound the shofar.”

 

The mice often use the word “Mouseka” when referring to anything related to the show. 

 

Roy, Jimmie, and the mice have social media accounts, but they don’t always use them.  The Disney folks do post stuff related to each Mouseketeer on their social media pages.​

Re: the new Mickey Mouse Club.

 

I can guess the Court of Dreams are frequent guest both singly and in group Tuesday and sometimes Wensdays.

 

While I can't speak for the others, but Lady Heart enjoys her appearance. S/he and Annette are close (and behind the scenes, s/he is teaching her Japanese so Annette can write to her grandparents who still live in Japan). I'm sure other members have relationships with the mice when they appear.

 

A nice bit on Anything Can Happen Day, an argument on who was the most powerful magical girl superhero, Lady Heart or Sailor Moon (Lady Heart agreed it was Sailor Moon, noating her ability to heal objects which were changed into monsters. Sailor Moon envied Lady Heart's ability to fly, but basically agreed with her, that the ability to cure an object is more powerful and important.)

Monica Danvers and family are Jewish and attend services at B'nai Israel.  Here's some stuff about it.

 

B’nai Israel Congregation is a Conservative synagogue located in Robinson Township, Pennsylvania.  The rabbi’s house is nearby.

 

The synagogue layout is based on that of the First United Methodist Church of Saline, Mich.

 

Stories about, and/or pictures, of Rabbi Morris Hailperin, Cantor David Silversmith, Cantor Silversmith’s wife, Ruth, who is the educational director as well as the organist and choir director, executive director, Torah reader, and shofar blower John Warren, and sexton Alicia “Bunny” Hart have appeared in the River City Post-Gazette.

 

At the rear of the raised platform in front of the synagogue is the Holy Ark, where the Torah scrolls are kept.  Above and in front of it is the Eternal Light.  On either side of the Ark are chairs.  The one just to the congregation’s left of the ark is the rabbi’s.  Further down is the president’s chair.  The cantor’s chair is closest to the ark on the congregation’s right.  At the front of the platform are two lecterns and two wooden stands for holding Torah scrolls.  The organ and four-member choir (two men and two women) are on the congregation’s right of the cantor. 

 

Near the end of the Friday evening service, the rabbi made several announcements.  One was about the kiddush after services in the Social Hall.  During it, Cantor Silversmith announced the start of the zemirot, or meal songs. 

The next morning, while the Torah was being readied for reading, Rabbi Hailperin talked a bit about the art of Torah reading.  Included in that talk was the statement, “You will find that Mr. Warren reads clearly and distinctly.” 

The synagogue has many evening classes that are open to the public.  All classrooms have dry-erase white boards and electrically operated movie screens.
