Old Man
Although it would be probably result in catastrophe if humans do in fact gain the ability to micro-manage local weather conditions. We're already there. The A/C in my building can't balance uneven solar heating on the structure, so my office varies from 65 to 75 Fahrenheits over the course of the day. I would complain, but any "fix" would probably require that I strip down to my underwear to prevent heatstroke, and then it'd be an HR issue. I've got a deal with the Director of Engineering to keep my office at an average temperature of about 64 Fahrenheit (18 Celsius) all year round. It's just coincidental that he's started to grow a handlebar moustache a few months ago....

Badger
Not sure I've ever eaten anything from Taco Bell. I am sure I have never bought anything there. I only get the regular taco, when I have. Anything else is playing with that which mortal man was not meant to know.
Badger
Why do you people want to sweat to death? If if was one of my late aunt, you'd wish the thermostat was only 75. She'd occasionally have a fire going in early summer.
Ternaugh
65? We keep our thermostat at 75-77. At home, I keep the thermostat at 68F during winter, and 78-80F during summer. On peak days during the summer, when the outdoor temperature can approach or beat 120F, the A/C seems to run almost constantly just to maintain that. Sociotard
55 at night, 60 at day (12.8 C and 15.6 C) in the winter. The missus likes her blankets. A lot.

DasBroot
Not sure karmic payback is accurate. Preying on humans is not a very healthy long term strategy for species survival unless you're a mosquito (and we're beginning to turn the Eye of Sauron in their direction, too). Old Man
So far. Perhaps one of these days a species will learn how to prey on humans really well.

DasBroot
Cool, but over-rated in the grand scheme of deadly predators. Had the marines been fully briefed and allowed to go in hot it would have been a much shorter movie. That's about what it would take, though - an ambush predator with near human intellect (so, smarter than the average xenomorph), opposable thumbs, and a quick life cycle. Bulletproof would be a nice perk. Or, you know, be a super virus.
