While I expect no better of the Huffington Post, it didn't make Slate or Vox; or, more seriously, the CBC radio national news. It all makes me a little sick, since there's a developing trend in social media for people to claim that everyone's ignoring the situation in Nebraska because they're a bunch of "deplorables."Just what we needed this weekend. Ah, now it's there. Just a bit slow. Vox is that way, sometimes. https://www.vox.com/energy-and-environment/2019/3/18/18271101/nebraska-flooding-photos Lawnmower Boy

If it bleeds it leads, and sadly, NZ bled more this week. This is only true if it fits the narrative. Both are horrifying atrocities, but only one of them is getting coverage.

The conflict in Nigeria appears to be a fight over resources between primarily Christian farmers and primarily Muslim ranchers, with large numbers of deaths on both sides. Religious affiliation is more of a secondary issue, that’s being used selectively by certain sources. Quote Breitbart also markedly failed to mention in their article the single largest atrocity recorded during February and March 2019, one in which members of the mainly Christian Adara ethnic group were alleged to have killed 130 members of the mainly Muslim Fula ethnic group.
