Christopher
Once a Comic Universe starts re-booting, it will never be able to stop doing so. And with a continually shrinking cycle. So comic universes are the only things where "have you tried turning it off and on again" is a bad idea? bigdamnhero and Durzan Malakim
steriaca
If all other explanations come up short, then it is either a mutant power, magic, or super science (Mutant!, Magic!, or Science!, take your pick.)
bigdamnhero
So comic universes are the only things where "have you tried turning it off and on again" is a bad idea? Heh, I'd say it's not a bad thing. But if you've rebooted 12 times and it's still not working, you might have a deeper problem... SteelCold
For Marvel, its not a question of a reboot, its more like recycling. Which is fair enough as no one ever stays dead for long.

Christopher
I think you're missing my point a super-hero doesn't NEED a bodyguard see iron man 3 If a Super has a bodyguard when he should not need one, asume the Bodyguard is there to protect you from him. Ties into: Disarming a normal is a good idea. Disarming a super should be done with care. Maybe it is a good idea. Or maybe you just took his less dangerous options away. Kirby
If the villain made it too easy to capture him, it's a trick. If you chased a villain into a nearby dead-end, it's an ambush.
steriaca
Not all supervillains are combat capable. That doesn't mean they can't hurt you, it just means that an average superfight will never involve him directly.
steriaca
If the solution to most of the heros problems are "fight", be prepared to have that option taken away from your hero occasionally. bubba smith
steriaca
A superfight doesn't always solve the problem. See Archmago, for example.
SteelCold
A superfight doesn't always solve the problem. See Archmago, for example. But it does sell more box office tickets in the theaters.
steriaca
But it does sell more box office tickets in the theaters. True. That is why such fightless issues are few and far between. But for every 100 "secret wars" there is "the kid who collects Spider-Man".

Cassandra
agreed Not to give anything away from "Suicide Squad", but the villain is the last person I would have expect. To be honest at this point DC is probably working on a Brother Power movie.

To be honest at this point DC is probably working on a Brother Power movie. I expect that the Joker will have the same twist as the Riddler in "Batman: Assault on Arkham 2014". Wich as far as a Heroes journey is concerned, would be the "Metting with the Godess". So do not look if you want to avoid spoilers.
bubba smith
you wonder what the difference is between a corporate magnate and a super criminal easy a corporate magnate wants to rule the BUISNESS world while a super criminal just wants to rule the world PERIOD
segerge
An historical quote from The Mechanic in my universe, during Takofanes' original World Conquest Tour in 1987: "They knew the job was dangerous when they put the cape on."
