Christopher
So far we have been doing these discussions in the NGD Forum, but I think it is now taking enough shape that it is worth considering for a future Star Hero Scenario. The whole thing started when Disney bought Lucas Arts: http://www.nbcnews.com/business/business-news/disney-buying-lucasfilm-will-release-new-star-wars-movie-2015-f1C6761343 Then we got JJ "Lens Flare" Adams confirmed as the director: http://www.mtv.com/news/1718092/jj-abrams-star-wars-episode-vii-infinitely-better/ Now the cast is out. And yes, Luke, Leia and Han are back again (along with 3 other "original Trillogy" actors whose name do not say me anything of the bat): http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-episode-7-cast-announced.html Current Release time seems to be targeted on 18th December 2015. Also, regarding all discussion of "what is canon", here is the official Lucas Film Tier level regarding Canon: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars_Canon#The_Holocron I have heard nothing that this would be changed by the Mouse. The Weapon
Luke is a redneck, Leia is a member of a royal house. Both types of people who indulge in that sort of thing. So don't rule it out, (though Han would be somewhat annoyed).

Old Man
So it would be a Game of Thrones situation.
Vondy
Um... Jaina Solo? She'd be the perfect EU expy, twinned or not. Even with the serial numbers filed off...
Badger
I will likely stick to EU (what I like of it, at least) if I want to do a Star Wars campaign. Ep I and II taught me not to expect anything out of the tired old mule anymore. (Ep 3, and Clone Wars cartoons have grown on me to some extent, but still makes me feel disappointed overall how the thing has gone since we saw that first step from Wicket) Note: The things I like from Ep 1-2? Darth Maul, and Darth Maul (ok Christopher Lee too)

Yes I got that they were twins. Royalty were OK with having children with their relatives, rednecks (and Luke is very much a redneck) are supposedly even more interested in sex with relatives. Xavier Onassiss
Most of the new cast members are unknown to me. Of course I remember Serkis' portrayal of Gollum, and Max von Sydow is pretty much a legend. "Pathetic Earthlings...." I saw John Boyega in Attack the Block a couple of months ago, and I was fairly impressed. I heard rumors he was on the short list earlier this year and I'm glad to see he made the cut. DusterBoy
And Max Von Sydow... ooooh, again.
L. Marcus
A living legend, yes.
NuSoardGraphite
If they add anything from the EU, I hope they add Jacen and Jaina as the Solo twins, and Luke's Jedi Academy (a no-brainer, really)
BlueCloud2k2
Mara Jade Skywalker. Smokin' hot redhead with a light saber. 'Nuff said.

L. Marcus
From the Star Wars Underground, who has it from The Sun: Tom Cruise to appear in Ep. VII. I disbelieve.
BlueCloud2k2
Not someone I would care to cast for something like Starwars. He's not a bad actor, but I don't think he'd have much to bring to the table.
L. Marcus
He's been doing much sci-fi lately.
Steve
After seeing his excellent performance in "Edge of Tomorrow" recently, adding Cruise might make for an interesting dynamic, depending on the character he's given to play.
L. Marcus
Note that, as far as I know, only The Sun has reported Cruise's casting.
Old Man
Harrison Ford's broken ankle has apparently badly screwed up the production schedule--understandable given that he seems to be the lead.
JmOz
Anthony Daniels =C-3po Kenny Baker =R2D2 Peter Mayhew=Chewbacca
BlueCloud2k2
I dunno, I think he's a bit roguish, a bit like Harrison Ford. And there already is a Han Solo.
L. Marcus
You mean Cruise? He'd be too big a deal to include. Perhaps as a cameo, or something ...
BlueCloud2k2
Cameo I could live with.
