Lord Liaden
Yep, almost an exact image of the Tobey Maguire costume. Only difference is the size of the Spider on the chest (and the excessive texturing) Odd, I saw almost the opposite. To me the Tom Holland suit looks much closer to Steve Ditko's original design in the illo I linked to. Maguire's looks far more ornate, almost gaudy by comparison. Whatever. Christopher R Taylor
I think it has to do with looking at the design rather than the textures. Maguire's costume has exactly the same pattern and details as the original costume, but has the texturing added to it (scaley stuff on the blue, raised webbing). Holland's has a very different pattern and details like the extra stripes and the details at the waist, etc. Its got a more fancy pattern to the costume, without the raised detail texture stuff. Were you to take the simplicity of texture from Holland and the design pattern of Maguire you'd get the exact costume. But between the two, Maguire's costume is visually closer in terms of layout and pattern to Spider-Man's original costume. aylwin13
Cassandra
Saw the trailer for Marvel's The Inhumans. A few thoughts. First, who are any of these actors? Second, it seems very noisy. Third, after looking up the characters it says a lot that the king's bodyguard's power is to hear very well. Fourth, so they turned a failed movie into a TV series. Usually it's the other way around. (Obscure Firefly Joke!)
Christopher R Taylor
Not real fond of the costuming/portrayal of the Inhumans, they just don't really fit and look more like a CW show than anything I want to watch.

At least they're not all sweaty, shirtless 20-somethings. And it doesn't look like the soap opera factor will be at CW levels, which would be refreshing. The only actor I recognize is Rheon from Game of Thrones. Where I actually fast-forwarded through most of his scenes because I'm not into torture porn. I wasn't actually looking forward to this show that much because SHIELD has been so mediocre and I was never really into the Inhumans anyway. But it looks like it might actually be worth watching. Besides, Lockjaw!

zslane
Given that hierarchy, it seems strange that The Beyonder would have been capable of trapping Galactus on his battle world.
Christopher R Taylor
Yeah I'm not sure I buy their layout there. Beyonders are multiverse creatures that seem to be able to do anything whatsoever they wish universe-wide without apparent expenditure of power. Galactus can eat worlds, and gets tired and uses up energy.

Bazza
Because Tom Holland can't keep a secret, Marvel has him fight tennis balls and told to "imagine this". "Who?" asks TH; "can't tell you it's a secret" is the official word. Also, TH is not shown a script either. It occurs to me that Tom only thinks he is in Infinity War. He could just as well be filming out-takes or promos. Bazza
The Biggest (And Best) Change The MCU Has Made To Spider-Man http://screenrant.com/spider-man-homecoming-mcu-changes-secret-identity/
Christopher R Taylor
The guys in charge of the Ultimates/MCU hate secret identities. Its a critical (and reasonable) part of comic book superheroics that always worked, but these guys think its all dumb and old and want to get rid of it. That and costumes, characters barely have costumes except a handfull (spidey, Iron man). Secret ID/Costumes is what is a major part of the fun for kids and it helps them identify with the character. Who's under the mask? It could be me! I can dress up like a superhero! Who wants to dress like Hawkeye or Black Widow from the movies? Everybody knows everyone's secret ID, they're just guys doing a job.
bigdamnhero
I loved Tony's "I am Iron Man" moment at the end of IM1, because it was funny, it totally fit the character, and because having a Public ID allows them to tell different stories. Yay! Plus from a film-making standpoint, it avoids the problem of paying Handsome Actor millions of dollars but then forcing him to hide his face for most of the movie. But when every hero has a Public ID, then you've lost the contrast element. You would've thought after Mandarin blew up Stark's house, that more heroes would see the advantage in keeping their faces hidden. Tho it's admittedly too late for Stark and the original Avengers, and most of the heroes they've introduced since then don't really have a need for an SID, aside from maybe Ant-Man. So yeah, I'm glad they're keeping Spidey's SID; the character doesn't really work without it. And I don't quite agree with the linked article that they changed his reason for keeping it secret. Sure his main reason to-date was to keep Aunt May from freaking out, but that's because up until now he hasn't really made any significant enemies to worry about. I'm pretty sure we'll see that explored more in future movies. (Plus in the comics, one of Pete's biggest fears was that May would have a heart attack if she knew; but that makes less sense with MCU's younger Aunt May.) Who wants to dress like Hawkeye or Black Widow from the movies? Uh, based on the last ComicCon I went to literally last weekend? Lots of folks. Black Widow was probably the 2nd most popular female costume I saw, after Wonder Woman. Hawkeye wasn't as popular among guys, but I saw several MCU Hawkeyes and zero old-school-comics Hawkeyes.
