Venom feels like the kind of supers film that would have been made twenty years ago -- I thought the genre had moved on. RDU Neil

Very lifelike face. Stunning is probably the right word for it.

Starlord
Certainly don't think it was one of the ten best movies, but at least something besides 'art house drama' is getting some recognition PS: In Starlordese, 'Art house drama' translates to 'boring crap'
Christopher R Taylor
Yeah Black Panther has a bit of an Emperor's New Clothes vibe right now, eventually the hype will die down and people can enjoy it as just a decent superhero film instead of having to pretend it was the best thing ever and a huge socially changing event. Lord Liaden
You're well within your rights to say that in your opinion, a given film isn't or shouldn't be impactful and meaningful to people. But if enough other people say that it is for them, then it is. That's the case with Black Panther, as with Wonder Woman. Very large numbers of people say they were affected by those movies, in a way other films hadn't touched them. That's just the reality. Christopher R Taylor
People said Liar Liar impacted them in a special way, that's the purpose of films. In a few years people will get past this silliness and go back to just enjoying films as films, I expect.

megaplayboy
Daredevil cancelled by Netflix. Cost and increasing difficulty working with Disney cited. Jessica Jones and Punisher wrapped recently on their next seasons, but it's a safe bet that's it for Marvel on NF. Greywind
Disney will have a large % of Hulu. Entirely possible Disney is looking to put their more adult-oriented stuff there; either a resurrection of the current shows or reboots. It's hard to live in someone else's skin for a long time, especially someone so intense and driven, and not carry some of him with you when the cameras stop rolling, even after filming has wrapped. And Jordan's remarks make him sound like the kind of actor who digs into himself to bring up connections to his character, which helps him portray that character convincingly. Those connections can be tough to sever.

Punisher season 2 has wrapped shooting and Jessica Jones season 3 is shooting now. Once those are done and aired, expect to hear Netflix announce the cancellation of all the remaining Marvel shows, including Daredevil. One down, two to go. As I predicted.
