assault Posted June 1, 2020 Report Share Posted June 1, 2020 My impression is that antifa (not really an organization) is less responsible for anything than far-right "accelerationists" and police provocateurs. Of the last two - the first want to spark a civil/race war, while the second want to create an excuse to crack down on the peaceful protesters, while reinforcing the "outside agitator" narrative. The accelerationists actually mostly seem to be outsiders. Obviously neither are on the side of the protesters. References? Lots of images and anecdotes of unidentified, usually armed, white guys behaving strangely. EDIT: also supported by media reports like the one Old Man posted up thread. SPD did a good job last night of keeping the agitators contained away from the peaceful protestors and containing them. But the protests continue to spread to outlying suburbs up here. There have already been enough examples of senseless injury in the violence, from the journalist who lost her eye to the guy who got meat crayoned under a FedEx 18-wheeler. I worry that they'll eventually be "put down" by the government and we'll therefore be left with another chapter of the United States of America's history where nothing of substance was achieved.
