CaptnStrawberry
That seems a good way to look at it. All the recent books are 'powered by' Hero, the 6E books encompass all genres as the engine, ready for tuning - an awesome thing. I know the subject has been done to death in other threads, but if 6E is to be considered the advanced/reference manual, I think of Complete as 'intermediate'. The line lacks an easily digestible 'basic' Champions with a step by step guide to making a character - the existing material imho seems targeted/written for people who already have a good understanding of how the system works. Christopher R Taylor
Yeah I want there to be 101 books, super simple stripped down for-player beginner jobs. Even just pdfs. I'm seriously considering an attempt to write up an introductory Champions packet with character sheets, an adventure series, GM tips, etc.
zslane
The only specific difference is the Class of Mind rule and the nixig of the same. The names of a number of things were changed, categorized skills have become optional, and the Absolute Effect Rule has been eliminated. Am I missing anything? Doresh
The names of a number of things were changed, categorized skills have become optional, and the Absolute Effect Rule has been eliminated. Am I missing anything? Minimum STR rules have also been simplified. Bracing was worded a bit differently in the process, and CC doesn't have anything about wielding two-handed weapons one-handed with enough strength (which I guess is a step up from those fantasy campaigns where the fighters/barbarians had no reason not to one-hand everything). Sam On Maui
I wish they'd either kick start a reprint or do print on demand for these two books. I di like and appreciate the longer descriptions and explanations.
zslane
Yeah, that's not going to happen. I recommend buying the PDFs and have them printed for you by a POD service.
