Vehicle Powers Dependent on Character Powers

Hi, I haven't played around with much vehicle design, but I am in the process of creating a space craft that can teleport and cross dimensions assuming a pilot or co-pilot already has either the teleportation or extra-dimensional travel power.

The space craft is for an extra-dimensional alien hero in a super heroic campaign.  The race is a formerly naturally powerful teleporters and dimension travels who have devolved over time to the point that most members can only teleport a few meters but have created technology to extend their powers over specially designed spacecraft.

The problem is that I am not sure how to create this ability into the ships.  It seems that I should just buy the ship with the dimension travel and teleportation powers that I want them to have and give them a limitation.  I am thinking a -1 level limitation, but I would like to get the opinions of more experienced Hero System players.

Thanks!

I think you are on the right track.

A custom Limitation to the effect - X movement can only be operated by pilots with X quality.

The value is determined by how rare these pilots are in the campaign.

There are plenty of examples of this in fiction - Dune and the spacing guild, Larry Niven's Known Space universe has FTL that requires the use of 'Mass Detectors' that can only be operated by sentient beings (no AI autopilots at FTL speed)
