You can't simply subtract those people from the population. i won't stand for it! Hermit
Old Man
Can we please limit the math puns? That kind of humor is derivative and not integral to the thread subject.
Steve
So the total amount of allowable math puns is a finite set?

Michael Hopcroft
Most of us probably recognize Bubbles. The one on the left is Korra, protagonist of The Legend of Korra (the recently-concluded sequel to Avatar: the Last Airbender). The one in the middle is Garnet, leader of the Crystal Gems from the acclaimed Cartoon Network series Steven Universe.

bigbywolfe
My only problem with that is that Bubbles would love the show. It should be Buttercup complaining about the show being too girly or Blossom calling it dumb.

Yeah, but I drew two circles on his arms, then a dot inside each circle. And of course said the required: "Circle, circle, dot, dot, now you've had your cooties shot." So he should be immune. Clonus
How so? I mean, aside from all the uninformed internet snark. There were some things that bothered me about the pilot, and let's not get into how I saw the pilot. How can a conventional military helicopter chase off a supervillain with the power to beat up even a highly inexperienced Supergirl? Why do they assume that blowing up his ax will eliminate him as a threat? Why are they right? Isn't a bit of a coincidence that Olsen just happened to show up at Kara's place of work on the day Kara decided to do her first superheroics? Why have the supervillains been so low profile until the week of her debut? Do they seriously expect anyone to believe that capes help with steering? If Superman gave her his cape, what's he gonna use? Why won't Superman talk to her?

Enforcer84
Sure they are. They're trying hard to make sure the downside TO THEM is bearable. A movie that makes boatloads of money is--by economic necessity--going to be one that appeals to the vast majority who don't buy comics. A BIG comic might sell 100,000 copies. A multi-million dollar movie that only sold 100,000 tickets might as well be the boat anchor the money guys are going to use to make sure the body of the guy who greenlit it stays at the bottom of the ocean. If you follow the conventional wisdom (brightly colored costumes won't work) and the movie founders, well, you tried. If you went against the convention wisdom and you succeed, hey, you're a genius! If you do it and fail...you're finished. No more donuts and whores for you. Sure, fanboys are gonna complain. But so what? Anyone who knows anything about ANY field can point out countless ways that Hollywood gets it wrong because either the truth doesn't make for an entertaining story or they just don't care because it looks good enough. Everyone complains about something. "Good enough" is good enough if makes money. Exactly, listen to IT guys, developers, or programmers giggle at any computer use in any show/movie. It's awesome. That's gotta be a good feeling. as to the male-pandering I think with a concerted effort over the last 25+ years we've really gotten nailed down to about 80% Fight on.
