Martial Art Dart In Hair Attack

Recommended Posts

Aloha 'veryone

I recently watched some fun chinese martial arts movies with friends, and I got a good laugh.

One of the character was having his long hair put in a braid, and there was a vicious dart/small blade at the end of it, so he could use it for surprise moves to slice his adversaries by twirling moves.

So it got my imagination working.

how would you (cheaply if possible) construct such a thing ? Not only to made damage by the way, as it seems to be a good way to distract a foe

Opale, must get my hair longer to try this !

Yeah, there are a lot of ways to do this. +3 OCV, 2 charges. You can get in two good surprise attacks before they figure out what you're doing. After that, you can still hit them with the weapon, but it's no more effective than if you were holding it in your hand. Maybe something like that.

The 'ranged' comes from Streching, No Noncombat Strech, Restrainable (at the -1/4 level...grab braid or not enough room to twirl it). You don't need 'Extra Limb' for it, unless you can strike with it without the blade in it and cause damage.

So why even bother with stretching at all? Are you going to add str to the attack?

After compiling all your idas to my settings and needs, here is the toy ^^

The Scorpion Tail Deceptive Attack: (Total: 7 Active Cost, 3 Real Cost) Killing Attack - Hand-To-Hand 1 point, Armor Piercing (+1/4) (6 Active Points); OIF (hidden till it is first used, gains a temporary IIF till it is used for the first time; -1/2), No STR Bonus (-1/2), Only In Alternate Identity (-1/4), Restrainable (grab braid or not enough room to twirl it; -1/4) (Real Cost: 2) plus Stretching 1m; Only To Cause Damage (-1/2), no Noncombat Stretching (-1/4), Only In Alternate Identity (-1/4) (Real Cost: 1)

Thanks alot to all for your help

Opale

Their is no 'official' rules about Concelable and/or Disguised Focus. My take on it is this: they don't increase or decrease the cost of the focus limitation itself. Obvious Focus are seen and noted as 'that is where the power comes from', while Inobvious Focus you cannot tell that the item is the power. Conceled simply means that it is hidden from view till used, but can be found. Once used, it becomes obvious what it is and where the power comes from. Disguised, on the other hand, is not obvious that it could be as the power use till it is used. Both cases, someone with knowledge of the item and what it can do will prepar for it, if he can. (The benefits and the drawbacks cancel each other out).
