bubba smith
"witch" genre would be better for a campaign based on the film the last witch hunter dark champions or urban fantasy HERO .?
pinecone
Could go either way...do you want the heroes to have Magic? Urban Fantasy. Just the villians? Dark Champs...
Nolgroth
I say throw out genre constraints and just run the darn game. Use whatever prefabs suit you and build the rest. It is less about using the right genre/genre book and more about having fun. Don't get hung up on the minutia. Heck, you may end up building something that transcends both. Vondy
I'd treat it as a flavor or urban fantasy Unless of course your hunter falls into bed with the witch. If they do, then its paranormal romance. Of course, both of those are just brands of modern pulp fiction.
Cancer
If it's a conventional "witch hunt" looking for political enemies to scapegoat ... but there happen to be real witches doing magic out there who are actually behind the trouble being scapegoated... now you have Dark Champions with a paranormal twist. Kinda like the old Kolchak pilot.
Ninja-Bear
Ever notice how sometimes genre conventions seem to be more of a hinderance than help?
