I feel this needs to be shared.

You remember 4, 8, and 12 years ago a candidate going so far beyond the pale that their own party disavowed their statements? You remember former Presidents from the candidate's own party refusing to

From the Internet: "This country's education system is broken beyond repair. It's time to burn it to the ground and build from scratch."

My thought: Confirming Elisabeth DeVos as Secretary of Education will certainly accomplish one of those two things.

I never understood people voting for Donald Trump because they feared Hillary Clinton was in the pocket of big business. Donald Trump is one of the pockets. Where do people think his money comes from? All they did by choosing Trump was cut out the middleman.

The only thing Donald Trump has shown real skill at is selling. He won the election because he sold the American people a bill of goods. That was the easy part for him. Delivering is going to be much, much harder.

I'm not sure Trump actually delivered anything, ever, in his entire career. He created a small fortune by starting out with a large fortune (of other people's money). Although I guess he owns a fifth of Rosneft now so that's something.

The latest gripe from this side of the Atlantic is about the Speaker saying that Trump will not be allowed to address the House of Parliament. Addressing the Houses of Parliament is not an automatic right for anyone and so denying Trump is not that big a deal. Despite what some might say.

And if Parliament had simply never issued an invitation to President Trump, it likely would never have come up. But the Speaker made a show of essentially saying the sitting American President would not be welcome in the House. That is a very pointed political statement from a high-profile public figure. It's justifiably going to draw attention.

Positive attention. :snicker:
