The target audience, Trump's base, cares only that the memo exists and was released, thus proving that the entire Russia investigation is nothing but a partisan effort to delegitimize the administration. What the memo actually shows is that Carter Page was compromised by the Russians five years ago and for that reason has been surveilled by the FBI and NSA ever since. I think it would be odd that a contractor didn't talk to his boss so I don't see what Bruce Ohr has to do with any of that. The head of Russian Intelligence just met with Donald Trump at the white house so which way did they meddle in the elections. Nunes was called out for changing the paperwork before it was put in the papers. Apparently trying to discredit the investigation of Carter Page is part of that since Gates, Manafort's partner, just switched lawyers in his money laundering trial, and Manafort has to go to court right after that. Most projects take much more than 4 years, so having to be ready to mothball a project to follow the grant dollars is an unpleasant necessity. Nasa gets pushed by Democratic admins to go after environmental satellites and asteroid capture, but Republicans scrap that to put men back on the moon or Mars, and then Democrats scrap that. Of course, in this case, its more of the grant dollars just drying up. The nearby National Lab is a major regional employer, so straight cutting funding is probably bad news. In fact, the deficit is now so massive that the debt ceiling will have to be raised again in March, months ahead of schedule. Expect a lot of discussion about Social Security and Medicare around then. Remember, this has been the plan all along: Massive tax cuts for the rich and corporations, use the resulting fiscal crisis to justify cuts to SS and Medicare, and defund the government so that it can no longer interfere with the rich and corporations.
