VP Mike Pence will be in charge of US Coronavirus response

The announcement has cast light on Pence’s record as a lawmaker and his handling of a major public health crisis during his time as governor of Indiana. The worst HIV outbreak in the state’s history happened on his watch in 2015, which critics blamed on Pence’s belated response and his opposition to authorizing a needle-exchange program.

“He’s got a certain talent for this,” Trump said at a White House briefing

It was nice knowing all of you.

Yeah, I've heard them complaining about Trump's response (Democrats).  Not sure they have a point.  It isn't like Pelosi and friends noticed the coronavirus till just now.

Though, Pence might be a poor choice.  But, then, hey, at least we wont have to worry about needle exchange program most likely (if so, we might be screwed regardless of who is in charge).  So, we take away his weakness.

Just to add to this

CEO compensation has risen 940% since 1978, while typical worker compensation has risen only 12%

My theory is that subversion of the upper middle class enables this kind of thievery.  So long as the more affluent members of the bourgeoisie/working class identify more strongly with the Executive/Investor class, they will support and defend them against what ought to be coming to them.  They may even come to believe that they are better off than their middle middle class and lower middle class brethren because they "work harder" or "work smarter" or some such meritocratic delusions.  Pish tosh!  In reality the 1% still won't invite you to their coolest parties, just the beat ones.  And they'll give you raises just good enough to keep you "loyal".  Without that (purchased) loyalty, that 1% would be extremely susceptible to turns in public sentiment.  My .02.  😜

Well, called that one :(

Props to Biden. He said he's take SC and boy did he.

Bernie's second place is pretty darn distant, and the others are in the dust completely.

Steyer is dropping out

Bernie’s set up pretty well for Tuesday, though you never know what’ll happen for sure.

Oh, I FAR Prefer Biden to Bloomberg if it comes to that

But Bernie is polling well in many other states (Not that polls is always on target ;) )

I know a lot of folks are impatient for the DNC to unite behind a candidate, but I can't help seeing this process as healthier, and more exciting, than the coronation the party gave us last time, never mind the sideshow the GOP turned out. There are actually multiple competent candidates. Debates over policy. Substantive ideas discussed. The caucuses have been competitive and unpredictable.

Actual democracy is messy. It's the price we pay for giving the people a voice.
