Starlord
John Wooden, Geno Auriemma, several Bulls players and coaches from the 90s, many Celtics players and coaches from the 50s and 60s, and obviously, Takeru Kobayashi. Badger
I think Bill Russell's tally ended up 11 in 13 seasons. KC Jones (or Sam) had 8 in 9 seasons.
Pariah
Pretty heady company, in any case.
Badger
I believe the Yankees had a pretty good run starting in 1949 through the 50s. Cant remember the Word Championship winner. But in the 12 years from 1949-60 they made the Series 10 years. (only times they lost the AL pennant Cleveland-1954, White Sox-1959, and in 1954 the Yankees won 103, which was the record I think for a non-pennant winner at the time) I think Yogi Berra was the only player on the team through that entire time, however. Though, I think Hank Bauer was there through 1958 or 1959. Casey Stengel was the manager those 12 years and only those 12 years for the Yankees. Badger
Inrterestingly,, Cleveland in 1954, and the White Sox in 1959 were both managed by Al Lopez, so in a period of 12 years only 2 managers were AL pennant winners.

Enforcer84
Wow the superbowl has happened and you're all still posting to the old thread. I'm disappointed in the lot of you. I thought this was the NGD.
Old Man
This whole last page of the thread has almost nothing to do with football let alone a particular season of it. That is the true essence of NGD.
Pariah
So, does Kirk Cousins end up with the Donkeys, the J-E-S-T, or someone else in 2018? Discuss.
Badger
I'd be surprised if it wasn't one of those 2 (with Arizona as a slightly possible darkhorse) I have heard that there is some possibility that Washington hit him with the tag and try to trade him to get something of value. I cant keep track with how many ways of low down dirty that would be.
Pariah
My guess is that Cousins' agent already has the grievance paperwork filled out and is just waiting to hit the 'Send' button if that happens. But yeah, that would be incredibly mean-spirited and petty.
Old Man
So it's well within the realm of possibility, in other words.

Given what I think of franchise tagging a 2nd year in a row (let alone more than that which would be the case here)? Yes, they are indeed that petty. Of course, it would ruin the team's salary cap, if they did that, and no teams blinked for a trade. Which if not for it meaning forcing Cousins to probably sit the bench, would be well worth what Washington deserves.
Grailknight
No one has ever been tagged for the third time. If I was Cousins, I'd sign it as fast as I could find a pen. The 3rd year tag for him is 34.6 million. If I was the rest of the NFL, I'd lose the Washington's phone number after they did it and let them play a season with 50+ million committed to just 2 QBs. Badger
Well, I imagine Cousins does want to play, though.
Pariah
Jacksonville has apparently decided to keep Blake Bortles: 3 years, $54M, with $26.5M guaranteed. So, take the Jags off the Kirk Cousins carousel.
Starlord
...also take them off the Super Bowl carousel for the next 3 years.
