AmadanNaBriona
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Hope no one takes offense at this, but some recent incidences of autocensoring have made me curious.... As we have clearly seen, you can't have a Doo *** band, but you can have a doowop one. And you can have a cocked revolver, but you can't **** one... I assume you can slip someone a mickey, but can I call myself a mick? EDIT: OK, its confirmed.... The autocensors will allow Irish racial slurs but not Italian ones
ghost-angel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I'm training a newguy .. his wife works in a different part of the building. Yesterday we all ended up in the main hallway at once... He say "This is my trainer." I say "Hi." And proceed to turn back to the vending machine where I quietly lament the lack of regular m&m's and choose another item. Today he comes in and says his wife called me "Perfectly strange." ...15 seconds in a hallway. I guess I am strange.
zornwil
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Is the idea of a rock band that's all super heroes as lame as the KISS thing or could it be good as an actual campaign? Why am I thinking about it? Oh well, it'll pass.

Vanguard00
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I have no idea where this came from, but I just wrote this tonight. It'll have to be sung by a woman to get it right, if there's anything to it. If I knew music I'd give you tabulature, but I barely know what I played, much less what the actual notes are. Anyway, it might suck, but right now I'm kinda keyin' in on it, if you know what I mean. [untitled] I miss the way were when we were young together You and I were so naïve, such a simpler time You had one thing on your mind And it’s me And it’s me [chorus] I’m alone no more I feel you standing here I’m alone no more I can’t believe you’re gone And I’m alone no more I hate the way I am now that I am older It makes me feel the things I don’t know what to do with Mama always said I’d be lonely And I don’t want to be alone no more [chorus] [instrumental] Waiting for the train, an empty guitar case beside me Because I pawned it for the fare If you think you’re lonely you should see my guitar case Because I left it there [chorus] [scat outro?]

Tim
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Interesting thought occured to me at work. When walking down a hall, or walkway, and you meet someone, do you move to the right or left as you pass them? I usually move right, just like I would if driving. ghost-angel
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Hero System Fifth Edition, Revised. From the Index: Pineapple, weight of pg34 I love this game. I don't think any RPG I've ever seen would have that in the main book - much less warrant it an Index Entry. Vanguard00
Re: A Thread for Random Musings The girlfriend is lookin' for a new house to rent. I'm gettin' tired of having to answer the question "any plans for you two to move in together?", or some variation thereof. Yes, we've been together 4 years. No, we're not planning to live together any time soon. No, we're not planning on getting married any time soon. Yes, we've talked about it, but only in the "we're not ruling it out but we'll bring it up again next year" kinda way. Why is it so hard for two people to have a good relationship and not follow the prepackaged societal plan for cohabitation and marriage? Jeez... AliceTheOwl
Re: A Thread for Random Musings If it's not one thing, it's another. If it isn't our kitchen being blocked off to cover over our ugly floors, it's someone drilling into our concrete floor to get at the bad plumbing intersection. Hopefully this fix will mean no more backups, though.
Enforcer84
Re: A Thread for Random Musings So, I bought an external harddrive yesterday. I was importing a new CD of music and I got the 'Disk Full' Message. I thought. I got a lot of music and a lot of pictures. Now I'll have them on their own hard drive and maybe my computer will behave a little better.
death tribble
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Managed to see the film SWAT over the weekend. Standard Hollywood fare but with a lot of love for the source material. And interesting to see Colin Farrell feel bad in the end fight that he kills the bad guy who is an old friend. Not many cops get killed in the film. More die in Rush Hour. So I say, not a bad movie. Now onto Collateral.

zornwil
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I know all these songs and it sounds interesting but still...pretty weird...and I'm sure Bill O'Reilly sees it as part of the War on Easter... The BBC, meanwhile, has announced plans to celebrate Easter with a televised procession through the streets of Manchester, England, using "popular music from the cream of Manchester bands" in "a contemporary retelling of the last few hours of Jesus' life." Highlights, according to the Guardian, will include Jesus singing "the legendary Joy Division anthem 'Love Will Tear Us Apart'" before "dueting" with "his arch-betrayer Judas on the New Order hit 'Blue Monday.'" Mary Magdalene will then "sing the Buzzcocks hit 'Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have)' accompanied by a string band" while "the climax of the event sees Jesus sing the Smiths' classic song 'Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now' as he is being flayed by Roman soldiers. He will then come face to face with his Roman prosecutor Pontius Pilate with the two of them singing a duet of the Oasis hit 'Wonderwall.'" zornwil
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Y'know, I think in real life if a guy and his "old lady" were in the Pina Colada song situation, they'd see each other in the bar and be like, "Oh...I guess it really is over." Enforcer84
Re: A Thread for Random Musings So my assistant manager who used to do what I do, we went to a combined branch and I was raised to "operations supervisor" she used to do most of the operations stuff. So it's been over a year now and apparently she's come to the conclusion that I am not needed, the branches split appart in June and a new manager was brought in. Lately, the manager has been asking the assistant what it is she does all day, not having the operations stuff to do, since I do it now, she hasn't got much to say. And so the manager has pretty much told her that as it stands she has little to no responsiblities and yet she doesn't get the few that she has done, nor does she bring in new business. It could get ugly around here real soon.
Hermit
Re: A Thread for Random Musings I want to have editorial control over a comic book with teen heroes in it. I want a cover picture of some teenager with her hair partially wrapped while she sits in a chair with hands reaching out towards her. Some carrying strange tubles or liquids. Speech Balloon from her? "I don't know about this..." Caption above? "In this issue, a hero dyes!"
