Cancer
Re: A Thread for Random Musings If my real-life vehicles had the ordnance mounted in them that I really want, I would go through ammunition at a rate that would bankrupt me in short order, so I suppose the status quo is better in the long run. Egyptoid
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Well I finally got my fiance to cry today. Yes it was my goal, and no its not what you think. She had tears of joy, when she read a book. I've been doing my best lately to treat her well, and she noticed it. What she was reading was some list of Ten Ways to Tell if You have a Good Husband. and she realized that of the 10 items listed, I had done/given/said all of them to her at least once (some more) in the last 6 months. I've been quite grateful for her, and she's made me get all choked up with gratitude several times, so I wanted to return the favor! But now I can't rest on my laurels, gotta keep treating her like a queen !

Dr. Anomaly
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Just got home from being gone about 36 hours to find the drains for this end of the apartment building have backed up into my kitchen sink (I'm on the bottom floor, so I get hit with this from time to time) and flooded the kitchen counters and kitchen floor. The bad thing is I know it's going to happen again before I have a chance to talk to the landlord about it Monday morning, because the showers & similar items all go out through this same drain, and people in apartments upstairs taking showers in the morning before going to work will overflow it again before the complex office opens at 9:00 a.m. Great end to the weekend. Starlord
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Wasn't there a big toodoo in Hollywood a few years back that females should also be called 'actors'? Now I see the word 'actor' next to all these women's names. So how come there are still 'Best Actress' and 'Best Supporting Actress' award categories out there? Shouldn't they all be lumped under the 'Best Actor' categories?

Cancer
Re: A Thread for Random Musings Good news: finally figured out why my colleague is having so much trouble running my code. Bad news: It's because someone did a quick yank uninstall of an old version of the requisite software, and the install of the new version didn't clean up the wreckage. In other words, we get to go do shotgun debugging through the machine registry, because all the registry entries point to files that don't exist any more. I think we'll do some careful backing up first.
