A Thread for Random Musings

The cover of the February 2021 issue of Physics Today (you can see it here) is a magnified image of the residue left behind by a droplet of whiskey, with the words "Whiskey's optical fingerprints" superimposed on it.  Below and to the right of that, one of the teaser lines also on the cover is "Relativistic quantum chaos".  Such things invite speculations about a causal relationship between those two topics appearing in the same issue.

A bit of philological rumination: in the local dialect, there's the word regastär or rakastär, which means to be rowdy and loud. Meanwhile, Finnish has the word raakasta, as in misä raakastan sinoa, which means to love romantically.

I bet there's a connection.
