I find myself wondering why I got a literal dozen calls from "Unknown" this morning between 9:45 and 10:20 AM.  Didn't answer any of them, and deleted them all without seeing if any of the voicemails left had anything on them.  Not curious enough to break the NFW protocol, though.

1. What if your dog only brings back the ball because he thinks you enjoy throwing it?

3. Which letter in "scent" is silent, the "s" or the "c"?

 

4. Do twins ever realize that one of them was unplanned?

 

5. Why is "W" pronounced "double U" instead of "double V"?

 

6. What if oxygen is killing you, and it just takes 75-100 years for it to work?

 

7. Every time you clean, you make something else dirty.

 

8. A hundred years ago, everyone had a horse, but only rich people had a car. Today, everyone has a car, but only rich people have horses.

5.  For the same reason the Germans pronounce "W" like "vey" and "V" like "fow".

 

6.  It is.  That 75-100 years is the time needed at normal atmospheric concentration.  Varying the concentration generally shortens the time required.

 

7.  In fact, most likely several things.  This is another thermodynamics thing.

 

8.  This isn't necessarily true, though I concede a correlation.  I have also observed that here in the US, horse ownership is correlated with stupidity.

On the subject of music come two thoughts.

One is that after hearing the Hawaiian version of Over the Rainbow would you ever want to hear anyone else ?

The second is that the James Bond theme in On Her Majesty's Secret Service is really good and underrated.

Just when you think that it was over, it comes back. Murder 101 has the Van Dykes back as father and son investigating murder. And you thought that Diagnosis Murder was bad. But they looked older.
