ToH Open Class Qualifying / Seeding Poll

All right, after a refreshing (?) break, it's time to get back to the Tournaments! Today we begin Qualification and Seeding for the Open Class Tournament.  There are 49 heroes; 28 of them will qualify for the tournament.

 

The nominees are broken down into three lists. Select as many or as few as you please from each list.  The top 28 vote recipients will be seeded based on a top-secret formula of my devising.

 

Voting will remain available until Thursday, April 6th at 5:00 p.m. EDT. That will give me some time to organize and set up the brackets.  The opening rounds of the tournament will be posted Sunday or Monday.

There are a few here that I like but didn't pick because they would have been better suited for the street bracket, in my opinion, and a few that I think are just too strong to fit.  

 

Vegeta? Power Girl? Professor X? Wonder Woman?  Those are like hunting grasshoppers with howitzers to everyone else in the bracket.

I see no problem with hunting grasshoppers with howitzers. Or even nuking them from orbit. It's the only way to be sure.

But, see that Vegeta is not the most powerful of the Saiyan race, by far. This is why I didn't vote Goku on this list, but I dud vote Vegeta on because I don't think he can fight the likes of Superman or One-Punch Man like Goku can, but can still hold his own against most supers.

Captain America really should have been in Street from where I sit. Anyone with even a little bit of enhanced speed can outmaneuver him and then it's all over.

Captain America would go into battle against Galactus. Because that's the kind of person he is. 'He can't win !' you say. He would believe that he would find a way or that someone else would.

Exactly what I was alluding to in my first post in the thread.  Batman vs Captain America would have been a great street level finish.  Captain America vs Vegeta, though? Come on... one of these two literally survives being thrown through mountains and can destroy a planet with a 30 second charge up.  Without even going super saiyan. There's no amount of 'fighting spirit' that can overcome that.

This is why I didn't want Captain America here. I will argue that the likes of Vegeta do deserve a spot here, see my above post for details.

I can see why less DC.

They tend towards Unlimited level, or street level, and a lot of the in between are either secondary characters that can't carry their own comic, or best known for being a teen title - ex sidekicks and such.

It's going to be hard to beat the two Flashes, Power Girl, and Wondy. DC appears to have a big edge here. Unless Wanda goes into crazy-mode, in which case she can whip anybody. The only other person who really has a chance is Namor, who is basically Golden Age Superman who breathes water and is an a-hole.

 

I'm really rooting for Peter though.
