At long last, here we are. The Unlimited Class. The biggest, baddest, most powerful heroes in the universe(s). Gods among men, living forces of nature, wielders of vast cosmic power--it all comes down to this.

Choose as many or as few heroes from the lists above as you feel are worthy.  Voting will continue until Friday, May 12th at 5:00 p.m. EDT.  After that, the top 24 heroes (approximately) will be seeded in two 12-hero brackets to determine who is the greatest, most powerful hero in all of creation.

The rest of this thread is provided as a place to debate, discuss, and generally make your case for he heroes you most want to see represented.  You've got 96 hours, give or take. Make it count!

OK, we might actually actually have a good chance here to get the first anime character into the tournament. I am crossing my fingers that either Saitama or Ichigo gets in. Most likely, if it does happen, it will be Saitama. Hoping for the best!

Ok, so we have 23 confirmed people if there are not more voters. One problem. There is a 4 way tie for the 24th spot. Amethyst, Rachael Summers, Swamp Thing, and Saitama are tied for that 24th spot with 5 votes.

Obviously, Saitama wins ties. Especially once that spot is vacated by "Supeman," whoever that is.

In other news, I may not have a chance to look at this closely until tomorrow morning. With luck, we'll get another voter or three and the 245th spot issue will take care of itself.

If not, then I'll probably post a run-off poll to determine the last spot.

FYI next week is going to be busy for me due to administration (and grading) of final exams, plus it's my birthday. So as much as I'd love to say I'll have everything up and running smoothly next week, I just can't promise that. But I'll try. Or at least, I'll try to try.

I just looked at the numbers, and we have our 24.  The cutoff ended up being 6 votes for inclusion.  Sadly, that means that Saitama did not make the cut.

The list of heroes participating in the Unlimited Class Tournament will be:

  • Martian Manhunter
  • Superman
  • Captain Marvel (Billy)
  • Dr. Strange
  • Thor Odinson
  • Dr. Fate
  • Phoenix (Jean)
  • Silver Surfer
  • The Spectre
  • Adam Warlock
  • Beta Ray Bill
  • Captain Atom
  • Dr. Manhattan
  • The Hulk
  • Odin
  • Hal Jordan
  • Mon-El
  • Binary
  • Phoenix (Rachel)
  • Zeus
  • Hercules
  • Samaritan
  • Phantom Stranger
  • Swamp Thing

Seeding and brackets will be announced later today or early tomorrow.

Thanks for voting!

We may need some clarification as to which versions of some of these characters.

Right now though, this looks like Jean, the Surfer, Manhattan, and Phantom Stranger are in a contest to see who gets killed by the Spectre.

I think we also need to clarify that for the purposes of this tournament, if they should happen to face each other, Odin is not allowed to just take away Thor's powers. Depowering is cheating. They have fight hero vs. hero, not father vs. son.

Does this seem reasonable?

*Everyone* is, one on one. Even Superman (especially Superman, in a way).  I was hoping he wouldn't make it (and only voted for Manhattan when it looked like he would).

NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

I showed up late to vote.  After the first 3 tournaments I completely given up and lost hope.

Note: Hadnt checked in 2 weeks, apparently the waiting was for the final voting was for me to go on to other projects. :weep:
