Tech
I'm curious how much damage do you think a hero or villain who was at the bottom of the 6.8 mile deep Mariana Trench would take? Down there, it's been listed as 15,750 psi.
Pizza Man
With the right life support he will do just fine. But without that, I would rule it instant death and not bother counting dice.
assault
What Pizza Man said, except maybe in the case of the briefest possible exposure. Top shelf bricks (and others with comparable defenses) might be able to survive a couple of segments of that. Of course most such characters will have life support. CptPatriot
When looking up the surface area of a human, I got 1.9 square meters. That translates to: 1.9 square meters = 2945.006 square inches That means at that depth, the victim is being subjected to 46,383,844.5 pounds of force or 21039.358 metric tons That's the equivalent of a 98 STR, so 19.5d6 every segment. Badger
Well, in theory with the ability to create a strong enough force field around one self, they might make it for a bit. I imagine a character like that would have put in points elsewhere though, that would be a better fit.

dsatow
I believe the problem with depth isn't the pressure crushing bones and muscle, its the fact that under pressure, the body absorbs and releases gases differently. https://www.quora.com/What-is-the-maximum-depth-a-human-body-can-go-to-under-water-beyond-which-the-pressure-would-be-intolerable

Although, if you are an immortal who can take damage but regenerate from it, it is gonna suck until you drift back to the surface.
assault
That's for NPCs though. It doesn't happen to PCs unless the GM is raining on their parade. A couple of segments of Near Death Experience is OK. It's like throwing them into space without a space suit. More than that requires them to have really messed up. No one's going to kick the bucket if you're wondering.
Cassandra
Sort of makes that point for LS: High Pressure pretty worth it.
