sentry0
It's not Wil Wheaton (most) people hate, it's the character of Wesley Crusher ? Starlord, SteveZilla, Ternaugh and 1 other
Cassandra
I've seen him on Tabletop, so I think it's him.
Starlord
The Wesley Crusher character is awful. Wil Wheaton seems like a cool guy. I don't know anyone who thinks differently. SteveZilla
sentry0
Yeah, he's not a fabulous actor, see Dark Matter for more proof of that. From what I've read and seen of him in interviews he seems like a decent guy.
Cassandra
He was okay on Leverage, but that was primarily because he got tazed by Richard Chamberlain.

Christopher R Taylor
Wheaton himself is kind of a putz like most actors, but his character on Next Generation was no more annoying to me than most of the others. At least, unlike most of the crew, he was relatively competent.
Watchman Mk. IV
I met him once; he seemed pretty cool. I still hate how TNG became the Wesley Crusher Show, though.
Cassandra
His best performance was in Parallels. It was short.

His TNG character was problematic, starting with "Why is a teenager helming a trillion dollar starship on the fringes of known space?" Then again the U.S. Navy hasn't been doing much better lately. Well, I doubt the US Navy is helming a trillion dollar starship on the fringes of known space. Lucius Alexander The palindromedary however says I might be surprised. Ragitsu
For years, I bought into the "Wesley Crusher is the worst character on The Next Generation" maxim simply because it was omnipresent on the internet. However, I semi-recently rewatched most of the series via Netflix (in glorrrrious HD). He's not nearly as bad as people make him out to be. Old Man
Maybe they should. IIRC Wesley never ran the Enterprise into anything. SteveZilla and Bazza
Bazza
Wesley Crusher is likable. Wil Weaton is likeable. Anyone else see Toy Soldiers? One of my favourite films. Wil Weaton has IRL Space Mom. Twilight
Starlord
Toy Soldiers was excellent. Wesley Crusher is likeable. The character of Wesley Crusher was a large part of why the first two seasons of TNG are unwatchable.
death tribble
Wil Wheaton has freely acknowledged that the character of Wesley Crusher was a problem as all child characters on TV can be. He has somewhat gleefully spoofed his own character on The Big Bang Theory being sometimes obnoxious and sometimes helpful. The whole 'Wil Wheaton is the arch enemy of Sheldon Cooper' arc in the Big Bang Theory is a whole lot of laughs. At the European GenCon in the early 90s there was a charity collection during which they would destroy by burning the Magic the Gathering Black Lotus card and the Wesley Crusher Star Trek the Next Generation card. Someone tried to save the Wesley card saying 'Save Wesley'. It was funny. SteveZilla
Pariah
I can't think of another actor whose career has benefited so much from the public's hatred of his/her character. Ragitsu
Joe Walsh
Wil seems like a fine person who doesn’t take himself or his place in nerdom too seriously. Ragitsu
