Funny Pics II: The Revenge

Recommended Posts

You guys have short memories. Just off the the top of my head the 70's gave us Queen, Fleetwood Mac, Meat Loaf and Parliament/Funkadelic. Sure there was a lot of dreck, but even Disco had some gems and while it's not for everyone, this is when Rap was in its infancy and Country was going strong.

Band on the Run, Imagine, All Things Must Pass...just a few that came out from former members of some '60s boy band that had split up.

A lot of "Nostalgia" comes from the ability to only keep the best parts.

I went through the desert on a song with no soul.....

I got really famous for a song with no soul....

The grocery store is playing my song with no soul...

There is no escape from my song with no soul...

It felt good to be out of the rain....

You have to keep only the best parts. The 70s had some of the highest highs, but their lows... oof.

For every Dark Side of the Moon or Rhiannon there was a Muskrat Love, Afternoon Delight, or Midnight at the Oasis

Hey, Dark Side of the Moon and Rhiannon were great. You bite your tongue.

And the Decade ended on the most celebrated "I am cheating on my significant other but it works out" song Escape (the Pina Colada Song).

Rupert Holmes, the person behind "Escape (The Pina Colada Song)" started the decade by writing "Timothy" for the Buoys. The song stayed on the Billboard Top 40 charts for 8 weeks in 1971, peaking at 17, making it the highest charting song about cannibalism.
