WWYCD: Secret of the Cosmic Gemstone Revealed

Your character and his/her associates have been working with the superheroine Star Bright (a.k.a., Starling Brighton) on and off again for a number of years. In that time, she has unlocked more of the hidden powers of the cosmic gemstone she wears around her neck. Then one day something unexpected happens: her gemstone suddenly begins to glow and make a strange humming noise. In a flash of blue light, a crystalline cocoon forms around her! Three days later, after numerous attempts to cut through the diamond-hard material failed, the cocoon begins to crack open. Star Bright emerges in her new form; she bears some resemblance to her original self, but her skin and hair are now light blue in color and she's perpetually surrounded by a bright blue aura. Without a word spoken and seemingly compelled strange new instincts, she then takes flight, achieves escape velocity, and makes a jump to light speed once she's out of Earth's atmosphere.

Paradox Timely: Secretly watches to see the birth of a cosmic superhero, and ponders what it is like to have sex with such an being. If it was meant to be, she is there as an officer of the T.E.D. to make sure it happens.

Bowman: He'd grit his teeth, steel himself, and ask his Dad for the use of one of his Starships...

 

Aquarius: He wouldn't need to borrow one, he'd just have to tell his friend Snapshot, that building a Starship would be impossible...  That Starship would be built before you could say Jack Robinson...

I don't have anyone who can fly after her, so whatever character I was playing would collect all available information, and file it for future reference.

Darkstar recently did a lot of pro-bono work (in his lawyer civilian ID) for some aliens who were trying to reclaim the IP rights to the technology from the space craft they had crash landed on Earth. (The aliens were basically like the prawns in District 9 in that they had been a servitor race aboard the ship and didn't actually understand the technology. But as the only survivors they claimed that they had the legal rights to the tech.) Anyhoo, Darkstar would approach them about borrowing the spacecraft. Luckily a couple of other members of the team have the tech chops to be able to fly and if need be repair the craft. Whacky space adventures ahoy!

 

Knight Rider would have to talk to her sister (DNPC and techpsert.) The conversation would go something along the lines of

KN: "Do we have a space ship?"

Sis: "No. But I could build one if you want to throw a few billion dollars at me."

KN: "Ah..."

Shadowhunter - He would compile two lists - One of people close to the hero Bright Star, and one of people close to the person Starling Brighton (cracking teammates secret identities is kind of a hobby of his).  He would interview them regarding her actions and behavior in the days and weeks leading up to the cocoon event.  He would seek out and run down any possible clue on what might have been a triggering circumstance, and where she might have gone.  

 

Mystica - "Gemstone, it is Cosmic, not Mystic, da?  So why you bother Mystica with cosmic nonsense?  You have cosmic nonsense business, you go find cosmic nonsense hero to do it."

 

Quasar - Quasar would reach out to his various Primus and UNTIL contacts - "Gentlemen, we need a plan.  Star Bright, in her new form, left the planet in quite a big hurry.  We don't know where she went, but one thing is for sure - We need to be ready for anything when she comes back!"
