death tribble
No-one knows what it looks like. It can appear on the sea, in the Riddledark, on the mountains, on the floating islands or in the Jungle. Some say it is a manifestation of the wrath of Olos, others that it is simply his creation. It can be a hindrance or a deadly threat. Indeed when Shreb cursed the gods Olos was accompanied by it and it was responsible for throwing the fleet all over the world. It is known only as The Storm and the only way you can know that you are facing it is the eyes you can make out in it. While some believe that Olos sends it to punish or kill any who offend the gods other times its purpose is obscure. For example when there was a great hunt to capture a sandworm, it appeared and kicked up a so much sand that the hunters were lucky to make it home alive. Anytime it appears on the Sea in the Sky the result is death so anyone travelling there makes offerings to whichever gods to appease them. It has also appeared on The Stage manifesting when a particular pair of actors were threatened. Indeed it remained close to the actress throughout her career. L. Marcus
Let's see if this will fly ... Doomsayer chooses his people: The Civil Beasts! Out of the beasts in the forests and fields of Torus, a few of every kind were chosen to be paragons of Laws and Justice -- grumpy but fair-minded badgers, shy moles dressed in tweed, smooth weaselly operators, and yes, one or two speed freaks for toads. Imagine them all walking upright, dressed in tweed and bowler hats. Pipe smoking optional. Logan D. Sociotard
I missed the "common language" draft. Pity. I was going to fracture all language. Hmmm. I see lots of reference to writing in the fan fiction (including my own), but no actual drafts. There is Knowledge. Also implied by Steampunk Technology, Music and the Arts, Acting, and Comedy. There is Priestcraft but not holy books, Navigation but not Cartography. No Actual Drafts for Writing Interference: No Writing, only Know-Worms Know-worms are about the size of a child's thumb. Insert a given know-worm into your nose and you will be able to access the knowledge stored thereon. There is no writing; all attempts to symbolically represent words or other abstractions in a graphical form causes headaches (and madness - if persisted too long) Oddly, while writing on paper is impossible, visualization is fine. Anyone who want to access information we would store as a graph, an equation, a map, or other abstraction needs to practice the skill of mentally visualizing things, then storing the visuals. It isn't too hard to store stuff to a know-worm. Just insert and focus on it while you memorize something. This can be long strings of words, images, or anything else you can know. Of course, then you won't know it when you take out the worm. Don't use more than a dozen worms at once. Know worms are eusocial. Queen's are called "library worms", and resemble tube worms the size of houses. information on individual know-worms can be transferred to the library, and the library can mass 'print' know-worms with a given set of knowledge. As the person running it, you can be a major or minor god. For brevity's sake make three choices to begin with the most important of which will be the name of the God and what domain is their primary one. There are several major ones that have not been requisitioned. Then select two other choices. See the Initial post of the thread for all the rules. If you decide to join in the you can select two pics a day thereafter. We are doing it this way to stop someone having a fait accompli i.e. making a lot of choices that others cannot do anything about. Hermit
Concinnant desperately tried to adapt to the strange shifts of some of his seemingly less stable peers. When Grorrar introduced his 'gift,' the notion that Civilization was a lie, so many of the sentient races seemed to go a wee bit bonkers. Some Engdweorg adopted the idea that Civilization was a lie until they made it fact by subjugating more priimative races. Others rather defended those other races praising them as 'Noble Savages!' and there was a myriad of things between. Others grew dejected, what was invention if all progress basically led in circles? Concinnant assured them it was not so... but it was hard. Then... Doomsayer, as was his wont, gave tit for tat, and now the wilderness was nice and orderly... leading to a strange conflict indeed... it seemed to take the edge off Nature's dangers but also made it all the more alluring to some. Well, at least the badgers in ascots were humorously adorable. Concinnant was not sure what to do. This world was not functioning as records from a distant memory said they should. The good news was that after all this; the G0D felt ready for just about anything... 3 hours ago, Sociotard said: I missed the "common language" draft. Pity. I was going to fracture all language. ScottishFox
Appearing as an auburn-bearded, broad shouldered man of 40 years and below average height the cheerful Har'Ak ignites the spirit of generosity and good cheer among the weariest of souls. Whenever the people gather to share a meal and a drink He may appear among them. Those who are generous with little find their bellies full, hearts light and the weariness of the day cast aside. In time the appearances of Har'Ak would lead some to tell tales of a folk of master artisans that lived within the mountains. The greatest among them would be said to be the brewmeisters, though many would doubt such things were ever more than fantastic tales told by friendly drunks. Har'Ak's care for the people would sometimes manifest in menacing aspect. Those who took their feasting and drinking to excess would, in the fullness of their folly, occasionally find themselves nose-to-breast with The Dour Man. A towering brute that would stand between them and those they would harm. The Dour Man is said to have hands like hammers and those too dim to walk away from trouble often find the truth of it. To this day many places that serve a meal or drink to strangers keep a club nearby with a fist carved into the business end. A reminder to all that to disdain hospitality is to risk the Hammer Hand. Primary Aspect: The Hearth and Hospitality Geography: Sentient Life: Gift to Civilization: Ripe Meat off the Bone and the Strong Drink Fauna/Flora: Interference: Mythic Monster or Guardian: The Dour Man Secondary Domain: Secondary Domain: Secondary Domain: L. Sociotard
You have to pick a Primary Aspect first (I suggest Hearth and Hospitality) And I don't think Ripe meat off the bone counts as a Fauna/Flora/Ore. You could drafts goats or some other food animal though. ScottishFox and death tribble
