WaywardSon
Greetings all, I am looking to join a group in the SF East Bay. I'm local to Pleasant Hill, Concord, and Walnut Creek. In the past I have been known to drive an hour and a half to get to a game, but I'm not the young geek I used to be. I may top out at 45 minutes depending on when the group plays. I'm hoping for Fantasy Hero, Star Hero (Alien Wars?), Post-Apocalyptic Hero, or Pulp Hero. I recognize in my own play tendencies of The Pro From Dover, The Builder, The Combat Monster, and The Plumber. Is anyone looking for a player? 🙂
BNakagawa
President's day weekend next year, go to DunDraCon at the San Ramon Marriott (last year there, alas) and you will have an opportunity to meet and greet dozens of Hero Games fans, most of them local. Hero Games have long been a staple at DunDraCon.
WaywardSon
I have not been to DunDraCon for a few years. Perhaps next year I will give it another try.
GM_Champion
If you do the whole con, I'd call the hotel reservation line right away from the DunDraCon website to get the block rate - also even if they say no rooms are available, keep trying once/week or so, and make sure you have a backup reservation at another hotel nearby. I enjoyed many many DunDraCons - always the best!
pinecone
You live local, you could just commute to the con. Just don't nod off driving home. I used to live in the bay area, and I gamed with a bunch of folks in Berkeley. College towns are always good spots to find gamers...🙂
BNakagawa
Hero System games (and Champions games in particular) at DDC tend to fill up quickly. If you can't get into one, perhaps you might sit in and observe for a bit. You might find people who match your preferred style that you can talk to later. Stormraven
Although there's not a big Hero presence there, if you drop by Black Diamond Games in Concord, you'll definitely find other RPG players.
WaywardSon
Thanks, Stormraven. I joined Black Diamond Games' role player group on Facebook a few months back. Now I just have to get off my butt and join up for Warhorn.net so I can join their in-store games.
BNakagawa
next month's DunDraCon will be the last one in the East Bay, so you might as well drop by, even if it's only for a day. Next year, it will be a longer trip for you.
Scott Ruggels
I will try to make DinDraCon. Where is it going to be if not San Ramon in 2021?
BNakagawa
Santa Clara
Scott Ruggels
Bro-able if I can get a hotel or crash space.
WaywardSon
Bummer. Santa Clara requires significant more commitment on my part. In San Ramon, I could swing down to cherry pick sessions.
