Calhoun's is a popular country and western bar that sits on the bustling Rustler's Row in the city's Bottom Right Point district. Owner Roy Calhoun is a large gregarious host who loves to mingle with his patrons and often tends bar. The two story building houses the main stage on the first floor for the larger local and traveling acts(Yellow Roses, The Wichita Boys, Midnight Riders) while upstairs is The Loft with a smaller stage for up and coming talent (Charlotte Sullivan, The Rez, Rough House). The crowd gets a bit rowdy at times but the peace is kept by low level brick twins Keith and Kris Midthunder, who act as the head bouncers for the bar.

You might want to have alternate states as well as cities.

In the book Space by James Michener there was a state called Fremont, with city called Clay, Webster, and Benton.   Fremont was located in the Midwest.

In the books The Senator and The President by Drew Pearson there was a state called Ramada, which was a stand in for Nevada.

Desperate Housewives took place in "The Eagle State" according to the license plates.

Lonestar has agreed to be a test city for the Vamos Transportation System. VTS utilizes prototype self driving electric cars and is the brainchild of Bright Technologies founder and CEO Regina Bright and operates under the BrightGreen subsidiary.

How close is the VTS to the one in Millennium City?

Well, Lonestar City is "in the south", and exactly where is up to the GM.

One of the newest things in Lonestar City is the combo of Rap and Country Music, called playfully C.Rap (pronounced crap). None of these groups have record deals just yet.

Concrete Posse: M.C. Kemosabi, Wyatt Twurp, and El Desperato. Raps include Inferno (sampling Ring of Fire) and She Is A Angel (sampling Kiss An Angel Good Morning).

Warpath: Big Chief Little Guy and Coop Counter. They have a pretend beef with Concrete Posse.

Iron Horse Company: Calamity (a female rapper), Wildfire, and M.C. Spur.

Ranch Pizza It would be a franchise but you cannot get it anywhere else. No one can say why but the pizzas here are better than anyone else's. At least in the States. It is a moderate sized establishment that has been in operation for over 90 years. The place has not been a target for violence or intimidation by anyone and again no-one knows why.

Captain Paul Travers This flamboyant individual is one of the local councillors. He is right wing and supporter of the NRA. Just as his father Major Travers and his father Colonel Travers were. Travers has served in the military and attained the rank of captain before his honourable discharge. He is the front man for Chevron Motors the main car sales emporium and also Indian Wells Estates which is the premier realtor in the city.

He has the face that you can't help wanting to punch. Repeatedly.

Homegrown hero team 1:

Lonestar City is protected by the PowerStars, six individual heroes who come together to protect the city when the threat is too much for one single hero.

Hex Girl is the current leader. She is a bit of the cowgirl witch in her, and has some of the sterotypical spells (flies using a broom, cast spells based upon the four elements, manipulation of weather, and manipulation of animals). She has been fighting crime since she was 16, and is now in her 40s, and sees no need to change her name to Hex Woman.

Billy is the brick of the group. Incredibly huge, he sees no need to wear a mask or keep his identity a secret. Except...he suffers from selective memory loss. He can't remember his family name. Or his life after, well, he appeared ten years ago.

Megastar is a martial artist of a sort using Shirkenjustu and ball bearings as weapons. At times he can be full of himself, but he means well.

Twister is a mutant who can spin in place and create mini-tornados. He can also ride around in one.

Big Tex is a giant of a man. In fact, Big Tex seemed to have always existed, like a cowboy version of Paul Bunyan.

Duskrider is a "cowboy Batman", complete with a utility vest, dark colors, and a colourful rouge's gallery of theamed thieves.

Carl Barrett aka Smelly

Carl is an informer which is the only reason he has survived so long on the streets. People do not like spending too much time near him as he smells. Not really bad but bad enough that you don't want to spend an extended amount of time with him. He also has a reputation as an informer which would lead people to believe that someone should have dealt with him by now, right ? Well here's the thing, there have been several attempts to do away with him which have all spectacularly failed. One gunman pulled a gun on him and then the firing pin did not work which did not stop the police from shooting dead the would be assassin. Another group of assassins sent at the same time to kill him were slaughtered on live TV by a police SWAT team. The other oddity is that Carl does not know anyone in the underworld, it 'just comes to him'. He can give details that only the police would know or identify a suspect even if he is the other end of the city when the incident occurs.

Want to buy a gun ? Then you can find quite a few places to serve your needs but there are none better than the Arsenal of Death. There have been several attempts to persuade or force the owner to change the name but Colin Thrabb just smiles and says 'Freedom of Speech'. Captain Travers and the NRA are unhappy with the name, arsenal is fine however death is not, but it is the biggest and best gun establishment in the city so they support it. Despite the fact that Colin is one of those who states that 'Guns kill people. Even if they don't have any bullets in them'. Colin's staff are ethnically diverse with Orientals (Korean, Japanese and Chinese) rubbing shoulders with African Americans, Hispanics and Caucasians. The AoD has a large well protected and rated firing range where you can fire anything from muskets to machine guns,. Colin seems to love baiting people and this was most successful with the 'Teach Your Kid to Shoot Days' where children are taught to fire weapons. This has caused all sorts of uproar but Colin shrugs off criticism with a smile. It has been very popular which only upsets people the more.

Colin is very proud of his non-American WW1 and 2 firearms. such as British Lee Enfield rifles, German Schmeisser machine pistols and the Russian PPSh-41 machine gun which people can test fire for a fee. There are however no other paraphernalia connected to the wars available such as Japanese officers swords, bayonets or SS daggers.

He also assists the police as he has a wide range of test results from guns which they can compare to shooting incidents.

The police would like Colin to take the Arsenal somewhere else as there have been several attempts to steal items from there which have all ended badly. This is due to booby traps which are lethal and the actions of some vigilantes who were more than keen to prove that killing is better than rehabilitation. This was particularly true when someone kidnapped relatives of employees in an effort to get guns brought out that way only someone tipped off the vigilantes who responded with excessive (well extremely excessive) force in taking down the kidnappers.

Let me know if you like this villain.

Mourning DJ

This villain can raise the recently dead and use them against people via the medium of his record/tape/CD machines. He has escaped imprisonment or capture because he makes people break down and cry by reminding them of someone they loved who has died or of a favoured pet that has passed on. He is wise enough not to make a smart alec remark as he gets away or offering a consoling hug or words. He does not engage in hand to hand combat or ranged combat, he just uses necromancy or sorrow to live a life of crime.

(Inspired by W.O.L.D. by Harry Chapin. 'I am the morning DJ on WOLD')

Got a campaign started in a Texas city, name of Mustang Bay. It was a boom town due to real world events like Texas' population growth (mostly people and companies from out-of-state), the shale fracking/oil boom, Space X in south Texas, other hi-tech companies. All that means $$ and super villains follow the $$. One of the heroes is Big Tex (named after the giant cowboy at the State Fair).

I also vote for Lone Star City, partners.

So, can the world stand two Big Tex? Prehaps it can, considering the tall tale nature of Lonestar City's version.

Nigel Lambert, Attorney at Law

Nigel is one of the attorneys in the city. He wins some cases, he loses some cases but people across the country have heard of him. He managed to get several supervillains acquitted despite evidence to the contrary. The police have not yet discovered how he did it. It was not bribery of the judge or jury. The  current theory is he was the frontman while someone used mind control but it has not been proved. Until that is proved however he is seen as someone who can pull off miracles in court.

The Grand Grimorium is a bookstore and coffee shop that offers free WiFi and a large catalog of all types of literature including a collection of obscure tomes on the occult and magic. Rumors abound that store owner Ilsa Nightbridge is a member of the Trismegistus Council, but she is merely a book lover who wishes to spread the joy of reading. However her white Persian cat Abby Cadabra is a familiar who lost her mistress several years ago and she is looking to find a new owner if she sees magic potential amongst the customers who browse the racks.
