"Into each life some rain must fall, but too much, too much is fallin' in mine."
In this adventure seed, we have a little bit of fun with the old phrase about April Shower. April Showers turns disaster example from the core book into a one shot adventure where you can both as the Brood and as heroes.

Metahuman News

As Memorial Day approaches we wanted to take a turn from our more light hearted adventures to reflect on events within the US, and at the same time acknowledge the long history of comics as a means to highlight inequality, and problems without our society. (Some great comic examples include Black Panther 19, Green Lantern & Green Arrow 76, and of course a whole lot of X-Men)

This adventure can be played without alteration, but provides guidance for an allegorical tale. Our goal was to give people an entertaining story, that while potentially uncomfortable at times will help inspire conversation and awareness of violence in our country.

This one is a lot more than a seed. We put together a mini-setting and repeatable adventure, it's available for free at DTRPG.

The Burning Earth: Arena - A Metahumans Rising Other Worlds Setting & Adventure

This micro-setting and adventure inspired by movies such as Death Race 2000, The Running Man, the Hunger Games books and movies, and comics such as 2000AD and Battle Angel Alita. Set in a post apocalyptic wasteland that pits Champions against one another in a series of blood sports where they hunt down lawless Exiles who live beyond the rule of Those Above.

Designed for Metahumans Rising, the setting forgoes the traditional superpowers for a gritty world of suffering and survival. The Burning Earth: Arena does not use the traditional character creation system. Instead, players use a life path to determine their Attributes, Talents, Boons, Fighting Style, and Gear. The Life Path generates characters on par with a Low Powered Hero. GMs may allow players to create traditional Low Powered characters.

  • Includes
  • Burning Earth setting with six unique regions
  • New Life Path character creation method designed for the Burning Earth
  • Three sample Arenas each with their own unique complications
  • A host of new threats and antagonists for use with the Burning Earth setting, but 100% compatable with the core Metahumans Rising game. Everything from Road gangs to gentically engineered monsters.

On account of all the seeds you're spreading.

Thank you. We try and publish one a month. The Burning Earth supplement, really came out of everything going on with covid-19. Because people are currently suffering financially I delayed our Kickstarter plans for this year. Then just found myself writing that supplement. It may have just been in some way of processing my thoughts about what's going on but I'm also a huge fan of bad 80s sci-fi so there's that as well.

Not all who serve are heroes. Some fall from grace. Others we're never heroes to begin with. This month's one shot introduces the Night Warden, along with his crew of "reformed trustees," and three unique adventure seeds.
Content Warning: This adventure discusses abuse of power within law enforcement.

P.S. I think this was the first time I used the ACAB tag on any game related post, although it probably shouldn't have been.
