"Oh, I have a lovely destination in mind. Have you heard of the Holiday House? At the Holiday House, there are all the sweets a person could ask for, four seasons in a day, Halloween every evening, Christmas, with whatever gifts you could wish for, every night, and everything else you could dream of. Just get in your box and follow me!"

I will allow characters that started in oral tradition (Robin Hood), that is acceptable.

Gaily bedight,

   A 'familiar' sight,

From story and from saga,

   Had journeyed in boots,

   Along vengeance's route,

In search of Baba Yaga.

His witch was dead now cold—
   This cat so bold—
Loss cut him like a dagger—
   Still not he found
   No track on the ground
That led to Baba Yaga.

  And, as his ire

burned into too hot a fire,

He had a drink in a plaza—

   ‘Bartender,’ asked he,

   ‘Where can she be—

The witch called Baba Yaga?’

  ‘Over the Mountains

   Of the Rus,

Into the forest of the Magi,

   Stride, boldly stride,’

   The man replied,—

‘If you seek out Baba Yaga!’

And the carnage causing girls will find Baba Yaga know easy prey

And she's sure that a bit of seasoning can sweeten the girls up again

"Perhaps it is broken." said the cat as they stepped out of the box into a mushroom scented cave and not the coconut scented island he had promised them with.

"What? Why is everyone looking at me?" said Alcatraz apologetically, even if he wasn't sure he should be apologizing. Then he added, "Sorry," for good measure.

Coraline rolled her eyes at the teen. "Did you break it? A one-of-a-kind magical artifact and you broke it!"

"I didn't mean to!" shouted Alcatraz. "It's my magic, it just--"

"It is not magic," declared the young witch accusingly. "Whatever you're doing it most definitely isn't magic."

"Magical artifacts are not so easily broken," offered Frodo. "I think maybe there's another explanation."

"Like operator error," suggested Violet as she gazed at the grinning cat on top of the ominous wardrobe. "Do you really know how it works?"

The cat shrugged and disappeared in a most unsatisfactory manner.

My next selection is Alcatraz Smedry, a bold young man with the supernatural ability to "break things." From Alcatraz Versus the Evil Librarians by Brandon Sanderson.
