Tedology
Hello all, I'm creating a master of disguise NPC/villain who can resemble anybody, even to mental probing. I originally thought about an invisible mental illusions damage shield with the limitation (only to give illusion of current form), but then I started looking at Shape Shift (the power) and wonder if just having it address the Mental Sense group would accomplish the same thing? Thanks for any guidance!
Duke Bushido
I think it would work perfectly, actually. And as one of the opponents against the current model for Shape Shift, I can't help but think selling me on it means something significant here. Grailknight
Shape Shift would make a mentalist think the target was another person and could fool a scan. What the shape shifter knows will still be an issue with communication and Telepathy Tedology
Tedology
Thanks for the help and answers, @Duke Bushido and @Grailknight! Duke, I'm curious - what do you oppose of the current Shape Shift? It's taking me quite some time getting used to it, seeing as I learned from the 4th edition! Duke Bushido
Oh- Depending on the amount of over-thinking / over building you're into, you might consider requiring a disguise roll to imitate a particular "brain pattern" or what have you. Not my bag, but some people get really worked up on the teeny-tiny stuff. Tedology and Scott Ruggels 1

LOL If you are still curious when I get off work tonight (roughly 8pm Eastern), I will shoot you a PM. This thread isn't really the place for that discussion, as it will get off topic in a hurry. Thanks for any guidance! As a disguise, shape shift mental could mimic (with imitate) a person's mental signature. But it would not, mimic someone's mental powers. So, if a impersonated person has a tendency to read thoughts in non-combat time, a intuitive hero might suspect something being wrong. Very good point. Thank you, @dsatow!
