Several months later, I stumbled over this link again and ran it.  The questionnaire is back down to 30 questions, and the list of results is ... large.

This list shows your percentage match with each of the 1,000 characters in the database.

  1. Richard Hendricks (Silicon Valley): 91%
  2. Bruce Banner (Marvel Cinematic Universe): 87%
  3. Brandon Stark (Game of Thrones): 84%
  4. Toby Ziegler (The West Wing): 84%
  5. Huck (Scandal): 84%
  6. Dr. Chan Kaifang (Space Force): 84%
  7. Will Graham (Hannibal): 84%
  8. Elliot Alderson (Mr. Robot): 84%
  9. Leonard Hofstadter (The Big Bang Theory): 83%
  10. Amy Farrah Fowler (The Big Bang Theory): 83%
  11. Bernard Lowe (Westworld): 83%
  12. Konstantin 'Kostya' Levin (Anna Karenina): 83%
  13. Ray Ploshansky (Girls): 83%
  14. Filius Flitwick (Harry Potter): 81%
  15. Remus Lupin (Harry Potter): 81%
  16. Abed Nadir (Community): 81%
  17. Roland 'Prez' Pryzbylewski (The Wire): 81%
  18. John Munch (Law & Order: SVU): 80%
  19. Daniel Jackson (Stargate SG-1): 80%
  20. Ms. Sharon Norbury (Mean Girls): 80%

What's amusing is that I am so poorly connected with pop culture that the only characters I recognize enough to have a reaction to are Bruce Banner and the two Harry Potter chums.

A few selections from further down the list ...

26. Severus Snape (Harry Potter): 79%

46. Data (Star Trek: The Next Generation): 76%

51. Odo (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine): 75%

82. The Tin Man (The Wizard of Oz): 73%

91. Willow Rosenberg (Buffy the Vampire Slayer): 72%

92. Rupert Giles (Buffy the Vampire Slayer): 72%

And the anti-correlation with the designated bimbos and himbos down at the bottom of the list.

So I come out as

Lane Pryce (Mad Men)

Brandon Stark

Bruce Banner

Waylon Smithers

Amy Farrah Fowler

Simon Tam

C3PO

Dexter Morgan

Cedric Daniels (The Wire)

Dale Horvath

Gandalf

List is in order of compatibility

And now I get Andy Dufresne from The Shawshank Redemption.

I still have Brandon Stark, Amy, Bruce Banner, C3PO, Simon Tam, Dexter Morgan and Gandalf.

I now also have Scully, Neo, Barry Allen, Al Robbins from CSI (vegas), Obi Wan Kenobi, Dale Cooper, Rupert Giles, Dr Mallard (NCIS), Lucius and Alfred (Batman), Morpheus, Paul Atreides (Dune), Legolas, Black Panther, Dr Grant (Jurassic Park), Dr Strange, Jean Luc Picard, Commander Adama, Clarice Starling and Leonard (Big Bang)

Interesting that it picked out the characters I most identify with in each series pretty much in order except it flipped Giles and Willow, probably because Giles had a wild and rebellious past which he's put behind him.

Lotta the answers are difficult, as we might be different things at different times.  Even trying to be honest with oneself is tricky.  Might re-do this with the extra-long version...

But...

Dr. Bashir from DS9

Doc Strange

Bond's Q...the Desmond Llewellyn version.  Yeah!!! :)

A little lower, Mycroft Holmes and Dr. Mallard from NCIS.  Not a surprising juxtaposition there....

I did the 91 question version. Of my top 10 matches, 5 were from shows that I actively dislike and exactly one (Brian Johnson, The Breakfast Club) was a character I actually recognized. What that all means, I have no idea. Two of the interesting matches I had a little further down though were Bruce Banner at 13 and Charlie Swan, arguably the only character in the Twilight series with a lick of sense, at 20. My first Star Trek match was Miles O'Brien at 35.

An interesting way to pass 10 minutes, I suppose.
