    Astromech Droid

Hey guys … here's my take on an Astromech Droid as a race package -- any suggestions or critiques? -------------------------- Droid (Astromech): Also referred to as an astro droid or mech, is a repair droid that served as an automated mechanic on starships. These compact droids use tool-tipped appendages stored in recessed compartments. Many starfighters rely on astromech copilots to control flight and power distribution systems. In addition to its piloting duties, could calculate hyperspace jumps and perform simple repairs. Most astromechs were only ab

  10. I think what it really comes down to is how the story is inevitably told. 4-6 is how to tell a good story. 7-9 will go down as how not to tell your story. It may be the same story, but the former you can feel was told by your local wizened sage around a campfire. The latter you can feel was told by your drunk uncle after a drunken weekend bender.

Started working with a new artist named Cường Nguyễn from Vietnam. I found him through a group on FB that discusses public domain characters. He's been doing some characters for a group of Neo-Nazi villains known as the Neo-Teutonic Order. First up is White Lighting, a speedster who can generate an electrical field as he runs. After that is Aryan Eagle, who has wings and clawed hands. Lastly is Panzerfaust, who can generate explosive energy blasts from her hands

    What happened to HERO?

Of course. It makes sense to use them if you can afford to. I can't, so I looked elsewhere. I have 3 - 4 artists I used on a regular basis, and they've produced great work for me. While I didn't find them all via DA, all of the artists I work with have pages on DA. There is a lot of untapped talent willing to do the work if given a chance. I try and give them that chance, and I promote them while sharing the art they've done for me. I know a few have gotten some work from my promoting them, and it helps build my relationships with them. It's a win - win for both of us.

    What happened to HERO?

Absolutely. I am not advocating for yet another setting, sourcebook or compilation of the rules. Without a plan, however, then any "Starter" set is just another product created in a vacuum. Without additional support material already built and/or scheduled to be published, then it is doomed to fail. That's what I'm getting at. Suppose Hero publishes the Fantasy Hero Starter Kit with some basic rules, a couple of pre-made characters, a high quality poster map for the introductory adventure "Lost Mines of Herodelver." Now what? There has to be more. Not some vague idea or notion. There has to be

  18. Much like the original trilogy, the command structure of the Rebellion seemed pretty fluid, and very hazy. Was Leia a ranking leader, or a low-ranking spy? Presenting those awards at the end of A New Hope suggested she held a pretty senior leadership role, but she didn't seem to have many, if any, subordinates. The main characters went from "new recruit" (or, for Han, non-recruit) to "General" pretty rapidly. However, those "Generals" didn't seems to be leading any lower-ranked officers underneath them. Maybe, in a Galaxy Far Far Away, "General" means "one assigned to suicide

  19. While this is absolutely true, I respectfully disagree with this part: Hero needs a game. A complete playable-out-of-the-box game that people can pick up, learn in- well, preferably a couple of hours, but no more than an evening or two- and have up and running for the weekend. Thats the point Chris has made before about 3e: those complete games were not just genre books. Benchmarks and an already built magic system, some idea about the world around you, a Theme a tone, and pre-built equipment to buy or at least to model your custom stuff after.

Whiz Kid: Hyper kinetic thief and prankster, Whiz Kid seems to dance back and fourth across the hero/villain line as quickly as he does everything else. And for the same reason: lulz. This poster boy for reckless irresponsible youth is up for almost anything to slake his thirst for thrills and amusement. He's not violent, however, and doesn't try to kill or greatly injure his opponents (or the authorities) instead using his speed, agility and wicked but childish sense of humor to escape, evade and harass them instead. His juvenile attitude is understandable as Whiz Kids is actually 11 yrs old.
